Can the same logic be applied to drugs? Legit question I think about sometimes. Is it really the "drug" or the mind of the person??? I've been an addict since high school done most of it all it's a serious question. Are the substances inherently ALWAYS bad or is it the mind that controls, and the intent or purpose?
@Daylon M I think everything is neutral here: we give everything the meaning it has for us, like symbols, money or drugs. I don't think a drug is bad but I also don't think the mind of an addict is bad. I think you are right: it's the purpose or the intention behind an action that is the important thing.
The pentagram is a symbol of protection in the Wiccan faith. The point at top represents spirit and the other points are for the four elements. The inverted pentegram represents God. It can also mean choosing the elements over spirit. It is neither good nor evil, that comes from within. It is so beautiful thank you for sharing.
Right on I’m a practicing Wiccan that’s been doing it for 2 years and it always upsets me to see people call this symbol evil when it really is for protection.
You took using a compass to a level I didn't know exists, you were the one in geometry class better than the teacher at drawing or graphing anything Everytime she asked you to solve a problem for the class you did this instead and everyone just accepted it lol
That's interesting to hear the different meanings different areas have given it over time. Another one I've heard is the single point up is for spiritual matters, inverted up, material matters. I was a huge Motley Crue fan and in HS I was also drawing these all over everything. I once had someone freak out because I had a tarot deck, Tarot of the Cat People. She said it was evil. I asked how can a bunch of cards be evil? Depends on what the operator is using them for but I don't see how tarot cards could be evil.
The pentagram is an ancient and powerful symbol that unfortunately fell into disgraceful hands and minds… In ancient Hellas🇬🇷 it had a veryyyyy different meaning. First, it was called Pentàgrammo> pentagram which means five lines or pentàgono > pentagon which means five angles. In the beginning it was a Pythagorean symbol of the perfection of human and the God. According to Pythagoras 5 was the number of the human and the soul. Each point of the pentagram was an element that gave life to the humankind: Earth = matter Water = liquid state Air = breath Fire = energy Soul = mind Pentagram also had to do with mathematics. They used as an example of the harmony of the universe and the ideal proportions. It was the symbol of the Golden Section and perfection! For the Pythagoreans the pentagram was also an emblem. At the five points of the pentagram they placed the letters: ΥΓΕΙΑ which was a famous greeting of them Υγιαίνετε / igiènete = have health. ΥΓΕΙΑ was the opposite of the death meaning Health but the death of the body but the mental Health. Each of the letters had a deeper meaning: *ΥΔΩΡ* (ídor) = water *ΓΑΙΑ* (Gaia) = Earth *ΕΙΛΗ* (ilí) the warmth of the Sun *ΙΔΕΑ* (idéa) = perception *ΑΗΡ* (aír) = aether Plato said that the Pentagram was the symbol of the Heavens. Later, the famous Hellene🇬🇷 astronomer Ptolemy from Egypt connected the five points with the five secondary planets and the elements. •Ares (Mars) = Earth •Kronos (Cronus/Saturn) = water •Aphrodite (Venus) = air •Días (Zeus/Jupiter) = Fire •Hermes (Mercury) = Spirit/Soul The planets had the names of the Hellene🇬🇷 Gods. Later when the Romans conquered Hellas they adopted the Hellenic pantheon and renamed the Gods by giving them Latin names. Those five planets were considered the secondary planets. The main planets from the Hellene astronomers were Gaia (Earth) Helios (Sun) Selíni (Moon)
I don't believe it is evil at all. A long time prior to Christians using the cross as a symbol of their faith, the Pentagram was a holy symbol. Also, In many Wiccan and Witchcraft Coven's and beliefs, the inverted Pentagram is given to the student of the second degree as a symbol of their year and a day of "internal" spiritual work. I have drawn it for many decades also. :)
Zak Korvin It has an unnecessary bad rap, and it’s actually a holy symbol when drawn the right way. People need to either do some actual research or shut up when it comes to religion, because having to explain this to miseducated Christians who don’t understand the actual meaning of a pentagram is getting old.
Firstly I would like to thank you, I was stuck in time, without ideas and without creativity and now I have followed you and done some work based on your creativity and perfection and I feel good and have new challenges, thank you very much!
Love love love this channel, mate, keep up the good work and inspiration. It's helped me put pencil and fineliner to paper. Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit. I use the pentagram often in my "craft" \m/
From 500 to 1500,the middle ages when society was less literate, symbols like gargoyles took on greater meaning. Some church men of that time believed its purpose was to keep evil at bay,and saw it as a protective symbol. My experience of encountering the symbol in a dream on holiday in the Mediterranean was a reminder Christian’s are in universe where light and darkness clash! Some days later, my better half, encouraged us to day trip to toplus monastery. It was such a tranquil contrast of prayer and worship, renound for its icons aswell as having been a place of great resistance against the Germans during WW 2. When spooked by anything always read round the subject it’s a good way to help ease off atleast some of the anxiety!
The Pentagram is the geometric pattern that a full solar cycle of the movement of Venus tracks out in the sky in the Northern hemisphere. Venus (Feminine, Lucifer) is the morning Star, bringer of the first light following the right hand rule, and seen as the right hand Path, so the subjective Polar opposite is the pentagram is rotated 180 degree's becoming the (masculine, Satan) bringer of darkness, and considered the Left hand Path. It is Evil in a way, but not due to devil worship etc, it's because people think opposites are separate, when both are necessary to allow each to exist. The whole left hand path was taken to extremes with Christianity to the point where children born naturally left handed were forced to use their right otherwise they would be considered to be possessed by the Devil. You would think people would have grown up a bit in 900 years, ha ha ha. Anyways cracking video I've learnt so much from you cheers buddy.
Was going thru some of my old stuff at my parents house and found all my old Staedtler drafting tools from high school. Compass, scale, templates, triangle, etc. And I want to get a pentagram tattoo. Guess I'll draw one up instead of letting the artist freehand it
Thank you for your tutorial in drawing a pentagram/pentagon in Sacred Geometry! In one comment somebody wrote that it would be much easier to do it with a protractor! But I explained to him that Sacred Geometry is only drawn with compass and ruler!
I have a very intricate signature and used incorporate the 5 pointed star inside a loop for the Letter A. Until I found out what the symbol represents. Amazing Art as always, Thanks for sharing. My Mandalas are never as clean as yours or have any sort of symmetry or uniformity in every section. I try and draw daily with a mandala every now and then. Guess I need to practice more regularly. :-) Peace Out
The disciples of Pythagoras, to complete the symbolism of the pentalpha, placed, within each of its triangles, the letters of the Greek word Tfeia, which we currently find changed by the Latin salus, but which both mean "health", and in this way the talisman of death was made, which we will study later, in higher chambers.
Pentacle is one symbol, and can be with it's star pointed up or down. Yet pentagram is a completely other symbol yet ones more, either up or down. But some people can't tell the difference between a star within or without a circle, with it's star pointed either up or down. Yet most people can see the difference between a upside down cross and a cross. Ironic isn't it? To you all, I do recommend google more, instead of say believe in movies and in unlearned people when it comes to some things. Say Odin's lost eye in a war was it. But in the Swedish mythology he throw it in to "Mimers well of wisdom", if I don't remember wrong from when I went in low elementary school. (Born and always lived in Sweden 🇸🇪.) But to does who wish to learn things here in life, use dictionary's or Wikipedia, does are more accurate than movie business. Some make no money or do make money from spreading knowledge, mean mean while movie business do make a little more money on entertainment. Entertainment there some knowledge will be twisted and turned just to be perfect for the movie...
The pentagram gets interesting if you overlay it with da vincis Vitruvian man. Top represents the head, 2 arms on the side and 2 legs at the bottom. And if I have to guess why people think its evil, probably because it shows a person losing their balance in life
@@silverharris1711 the inverted pentagram is often used DURING and FOR acts of evil and often used in satanism. The PENTACLE with the point pointing upwards is for protection. Inverting this is a sign of evil intent.
At one time, back in the 1800s and earlier, these could be seen on churches and other places of worship. They were coupled with, and directly above, a right side up pentagram/star. The meaning was enlightenment coming down from God to man. The inverted pentagram was appropriated and gained its current meaning in the early 1900s.
Honestly don't know how I feel about it, but I had a dream of it tattooed on the palm of my right hand and I was meditating in the dream... So still lost.
The symbol isn't evil or good. Depending on how or which way views it it could be a pentagram or the normal 5 pointed star. Either way the points alone is only half of the whole. The whole requires all 10 points. View either half is no different than viewing either the ying or yang. Just in star form. Rotation of either star 33 degrees changes it to the opposite. Just a matter of perspective and the individual perception and what the are. But it must be viewed in it's singularity and not just either polar opposites if one can truly decide which spectrum one wants to say it is. Either way the individual is correct.
@@duskzx exactly what i said, except an inverted pentacle is not evil edit: pentacle is star with circle around it, inverted or not pentagram is star with circle around it, inverted or not
I'm "working" on a spell to meet/See my passed away uncle in my dreams and a Pentagramm is one of the things i need for this speel but since my parents don't know anything about me doing this i can't ask them to buy me one. I also can't by myself one online bc i'm a minor so i'm wondering if i could like also use a self drawn Pentagramm
No lucifer means light bringer, he him self is evil. The symbol is a Christian symbol that was adopted by pagans and twisted for evil it depends on its purpose.
If Satan is real then Satan is my God not Yahweh and Satan isn't evil so the symbol isn't evil but if Satan is evil oh well hail Satan and the pentagram then lol.
Hey man I really like your videos, but you should be carefull with what you draw. This is disharmonius. And you should not use sacred geometry to draw that. :)
God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob reigns supreme. Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of lords. God is our creator, protector, provider. Jesus is our Redeemer.
@@mioangel1227 Funny that exact word is used in Qabalistic cross portion of the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram. Wish people actually had the slightest clue as to what they were talking about.
