So this may be the greatest ARRMA ever made! Even better than the New Arrma Outcast 8s! Better than the New Mojave EXB! Better than the New 8s Arrma Felony (well not 8s yet!)

I've been after one of these for a while. This was the RC Truck that kicked off the Traxxas vs Arrma Lawsuit. It ended up with Arrma discontinuing the Arrma Nero. There were a few factors in the law suit and one of the main ones were the lay down shocks (cantilever suspension) that Traxxas had the Patent for. It lost Traxxas a lot of credibility, and although Arrma went through some tough times, I think it's actually given them so serious traction in the RC Bashing world! Will Arrma take over Traxxas as the go to Basher! I really hope so!

I have a Fazon. I put one battery pack through it, then all the law suit crap started. I figured I would save it as a collector's item. It was an awesome vehicle to drive. I swore I would never spend another dime on Traxxas.

This Arrma looks so cool, what a design, it's like F1 suspension - can't believe the lawsuit, there have been so many versions of this type of suspension system in full sized cars! Anyway, really enjoyed the speed test and bashing, Phil. It will be good to see you try again with all those little problems fixed and the high speed pinion! :)) 👍👍👍GB

Yes, it's ridiculous really, i think they was a little more to the story, but the suspension was a big talking point! 17t pinion fresh batteries and a bit of maintenance and think she is good for 60mph+

I really like it's stance and it's Mad Max chassis design.i even wouldn't mind the non Diff brain version. Diff brain is cool, but something I would probably not use.

The Nero is my "pink unicorn" rc. 1. It's controversial. Very polarizing opinions within the RC community about it. 2. Its a rare and complex design for Arrma. I highly doubt you will ever see anything like this come out from Arrma....ever again. 3. It's 1/8 scale Arrma truck that DOESN'T have a wing attached to it (thank God).

The inboard shocks that Traxxas suid them about this is like one company suing another company over the flatpan chassis that almost every company uses besides Traxxas there's some real BS that they got away with doing that and arrma having to discontinue a truck that was and probably would still be the best truck out it's a shame and they probably did the suspension better cuz arrma knows what they're doing when it comes to that

I know that this is an older video, but I would recommend hot racing hubs on the front. The servo isn't easy to replace either. It's a low profile servo and it's not easy to get to. It's a great truck but it's slightly over engineered. Great video buddy.

big thing about that law suit is, Traxxas DID NOT invent that suspension. It was around since the 70ties and Traxxas just bought up some patents. I stopped buying things from Traxxas except for one car I have. I have a nero too but the diffbrain make some troubles. Nothing but but still. I do like the car very much doh. I like your video and if I can I get my hands on a second Nero too.

Awesome video👍🏻, i wished I did not sell my Arrma Nero 6s Blx with diff brain, love the design of the truck even without the lexan body look impressive, a little difficult in replacing the servo with all the plastic reinforcements, 😢😢 i should have kept it.

The nero 6s really need other diffoil like 100/500/50(100) that was what mine brings really fun into driving it. And some belted tires too. Now its driving just perfect.🐨

Traxxas sues arrma for this design because the shocks are oriented the same way. Then turns around and uses the diff brain concept from this truck in the TRX-4 😐

The truly ironic thing is Kevin Talbot is a snake oil salesman. He looks at the hobby like a job. He's said this many times. He once took flak for talking about how he got his first arrma but the video wouldn't be released for 30 days cause he has a "set schedule". See he records any junk video and puts it into his rotation. That's what makes his comment truly ironic lol. He does whatever he can to make money off his subs. Hes always conjuring up get rich quick schemes to rip off his viewers. Now he takes anything that is sent to him, calls it amazing and tries to get you to buy it! Also it's funny he mentions those other channels when at first when his channel blew up he had nothing to do with other channels or commenting on their channels but now that his channel is dying hes Mr rc hobby trying to network with those other channels. But thankfully almost everyone in this rc community sees right through it. That's why only 7-12 year olds watch his channel. Not the rc community on here.

That is a decent truck i like the diff locking options .i want to convert an old tamiya tnx to electric i done one years ago using a traxxas emmax center diff but this time i want a better center diff a single speed unit and lipo,s see if i can make a half decent electric truck for cheap for a bit of fun .

these cars are not made for high speed and the wheely bar sucks badly. broke them all the time. When I changed the servo the diff brain started to be itching around. In slide mode I can do donuts :-) lots of fun with that car.

Traxxas did not invent the lay down shocks... That design came from the 70s from 1:1 race cars and then RC builders applied the same deign in the 80s to RC's, the same design traxxas stole (legally) not long before Arrma released the Nero not knowing. Traxxas patent snipped that patent design after the patent expired (30 years) and traxxas took the scale version and placed the patent on it for scale models only which again was not theirs but now it is because the patent system is broken. There are more then enough pics that shows this design being used long before traxxas was a company and long before they even had one in any of their RC's. Sorry, im not trolling but seems like only a few knows this.... There's a good post on this in the Arrma forums and another RC forums talking about this with all the pics and even pics of the patents. What Traxxas did was shady and dirty but they did play it smart but it did not stop Arrma.

Oh, it's a long story from a good few months ago. I made a comment on his sales technique, and it spiralled from there. He went to the trouble of making a second account up to hate on my channel, so i just bait him now as I know it gets a reaction.... he gets all personnel though. 😜

Arma is a stupid company kind of. I mean always discontiniue products and make newer models very often. I don't know if this is a problem for replacement parts for the older models. If you don't have enough money you can't follow this company. This is my opinion i don't know , just say. By the way i didn't knew that this car has selectable diff driving options, first time i see so many driving options in a speed basher rc truck.
