Love JM Cigar Blend. I bottle killed batch 93 earlier this year and currently have batches 140, 181 and 189. I have been able to get these at $199. I really like Nancy Fraley. Every thing she touches gets better. 🥃
Nancy has commented on a Reddit post a while back that the Kentucky bourbon mixed in is older Barton stock, which only came about because MGP ran out of 9 year bourbon at one point early on and they needed to use old Barton stock, although that was never meant to be permanent.
Old Barton stock seems to be the way to go. High west and used some before and had crazy results. How about 1792 aged 15 years? It’s still great but for the price which is around $200 it’s a hard buy. Maybe a special occasion.
Not something I’ll ever get just to pricey for my tastes. I’m sure it’s very good but it’s alcohol and I won’t pay over 150 for a single bottle. I totally get that on pricing and it’s a lot of money for liquor and liquor you may not like. Maybe give it a go at a local bar if you can find it. At least if you don’t like it you are still supporting the community. Cheers!
I was able to get batch 203 and I paid $200. It's my first cigar blend and I love it. Very complex and the nose is amazing. I let the bottl3 sit open for an hour as suggested by the brand b4 pouring my first glass. Idk if it made a difference but I did have a good experience drinking it. It is pricey but worth it for my palate.
I had no idea that was a suggestion from them. I think I’m going to have to give that a try. I’m glad you like it as it’s quite the investment for $200 but you do get a lot of whiskey for that price.
I just picked up a bottle during the local allocated drawing. I paid 199. Looking forward to opening it and sharing with good friends. I'll be curious if this bottle stays with the same flavor profile throughout the entire bottle or if it will open up.
@@TheWhiskeyCove the guy just got it in a few weeks ago. He said they get bottles in the eighties then hundreds and it’s very random. If you go to the website it gives you notes and flavors of each batch.
I got a bottle at retail few weeks back yet to open. I also got bottle old elk cigar cut at retail which i opened and really like so got a vack up. Wow i got my bottle magnus for 169.00
Interesting review! I like that it’s so finished honestly. Never tasted it but I like when bourbon ventures out of the standard. I’ve got a few questions for you, do you ever put any preserving gas into your open whiskey bottles? I might have to do that soon. Secondly, if you didn’t get into whiskey, what spirit do you think you’d get into? Or is there one you’re trying to start learning about?
Hey iPad! I have no added emanating to the bottles as I try to keep a small amount of bottles open at a time. Well as little as I can. I would say rum. I like spiced and heavily barrel aged rum. Also I do like a mezcal pour from time to time.
the unknown component you mention is barton distillery, most people agree the neck pour can be a bit tight and the bottle needs a bit of time to open up. Cheers.

It’s a lot of money but if you can find it at a bar I would stress to try it before you buy as it’s so unique. I can see it not being up everyone’s alley.
