I always cry when I watch this episode. I’ve probably watched it at least a dozen times over the years. Art Carney should have received am Emmy for his acting in this. That guy was one class act!

I saw that episode when it originally came out. It was moving then and it still is. However, I always thought that Carney in this role was always actually Santa Claus and some how had forgotten that. In a sense, he had amnesia maybe due to the sadness of the world he saw. At the end, the Elf knows who he really is and snaps him back into reality so that is why he knew just what to do with the sleigh etc. You have a different take on the plot, I see.

I've seen it a few times...Carney was a perfect actor to cast. One of my favorite early TV actors. Another special you can look for is one with Red Skelton as "Freddie The Freeloader" and Vincent Price as "Professor Humperdew." Very sweet and heartwarming.

A show called Way,Out was shot on video tape which added an appearance of reality. It was a show similar to Twilight Zone.

Ah, I love this one! Can't go wrong with Art Carney. I also love the Honeymooners christmas and the odd couple christmas.. There a movie from like 69 or so called JT about a kid and a cat❤❤😢, it's a great memory movie from my childhood. Keep up the great work Rich. Hope u have a great Christmas

I'm old. It's been SO long since I have seen this. I'm alone. Also been SO long since I had a family or believed in christmas. Why did you have to do this? Just when christmas didn't hurt any more...

I love to watch anything with Art Carney and The Twilight Zone, but I will have to disagree about this being the best. This would have been the best if they changed the story and not used alcohol as his crutch at the start of the story, they should have used another type of crutch at the beginning instead of alcohol. The alcohol shouldn't have been used in this story period, it takes away from the entire story and the respect of the outcome.
