UAVfutures when you've gotten defective products. How does banggood take care of that? I received a defective eachine falcon 180 RTF. And I want to know how they may take care of it
Matthew McGann I have. I'm hoping they'll just send a replacement. They told me they'd take FULL responsibility for the issue. So I'm Hoping they just refund or send a new one
I just wanted to share with everyone, that it seems the company was listening, I just purchased the Diatone Crusader GT2 F3 V3, the one thing they did away with is, they don't provide a 3v option on the board, but had to use the resister , they did add the USB to the board for both the VXT and main board. for the LEDS strips, they also added a plug-in port and just need to soldier the LEDS wire connections. Other than that, I love it, I'm just learning that I should be able to program my PIDS through my goggles, I'm hoping so, will be finding out tonight. Thanks again for the video.
Love to see what you think of it compared to the likes of the Helix and Kraken. I know they are higher end frames, but how does it feel in the air and is it nearly as fast/nimble?
UAVfutures Man, love your videos! Even though i have been following your videos for a while and gathering some fpv knowlege on the net, which kit would you likely recommend to someone who is totally new into fpv? Thanks for any advice.
That's a great design. I love the open hood. I have a storm Loki x5 that I really love. It's bnf for like $350. You can get it with a Frsky reciever for like $20 more.
Awesome channel, great content. Subbed! My mate has the factory version, although it came with 2300kv whereas yours are 2450kv - that seems odd - was your pre-release? I want to build a custom GT2 but cannot decide on motors - any suggestions..?
this is the next quad on my to buy l list,I was going to get the shuriken x1,but this has got the better looks overall,I've already got the turngy evo transmitter on my quanuum chaotic 3d and it is the business.just learned to do my first flips and rolls yesterday, only been flying 6 months.so I'm a bit dubious about getting this powerful beast, but I'm sure my flying will improve if it is as dialled in as you say it is.I just saw the 2nd part review and just wanted to know was that running it stock,or had you already been tweaking your settings?keep up the good work,I wanna be the UK version of your channel, just need to build my quad collection I've got 6 in 6months,so it's still gonna be a while til I catch up with you.
Hey man, great videos. You've said in a few videos about different quads (Eachine Wizard and this Crusader GT2) that the included props weren't your favorite.. what props are you favorite? Any specific brand/size you would fit to the crusader GT2?
I loved the design the first time I saw it for pre sale, and it comes in 3 sizes. The smallest one is irresistibly cute. I this was available when I first joined the hobby...
Stu, good day! love the channel and appreciate your time for the hobby, QQ I"m doing a frame up build, would you use the same motors and esc's? Thanks again for the awesome content!!
Hi Stew, I'm having problems with my crusader, I've been on many forums and watched tons of videos, reading comments, etc, looking for answers, but you're the only person who has the same set up as me. Im using the turnigy evolution with the tgy-iA6c receiver it comes with and is pre-bound to. I was planning on using sbus or ibus, I soldered the sbus connector the crusader comes with to the receiver and plugged it into the quad. The receiver shows the solid red light showing it is bound and the evolution shows the lipo battery percentage, so I know they are talking. I go into betaflight and this is where I'm lost. I assume you're using the same receiver, in the "ports" tab (Uart1) is on and I'm not messing with that, which serial rx do i turn on? I go into the "configuration" tab and make sure the receiver is on sbus. The main thing that is happening is when I go into the "receiver" tab but when I move my sticks nothing happens. I've tried every configuration of serial rx and channel maps etc.... I don't even know what questions to ask. Maybe you'll know what I'm doing wrong or missing. Thanks!
I having some prop wash issues with the props they provided. I think I will go with some DALprops instead. Do you think the 5040's are better than the 5045's? It'll be a little nicer on the batteries but less thrust, don't you think?
Got my GT2 yesterday. The flight controller comes with a USB port now, no more need for the adapter. Also it does have only 2300 kv motors. The packaging warns not to update betaflight from 3.0 to 3.1 until betaflight fixes a bug that can damage the ESCs. If you do update, the warranty is void.
Hey stew love your reviews I just got both this gt2 and the wizard banggood got them in stock and sold out right away but I love this Gt2 already and Diatone must be listening to you because the one I just received has an updated fc with USB port still don't have solder pads for rx and they changed led pads to a micro plug also the motors on it are only 2300kv not sure if that bad thing maybe a little more efficient anyway it's awesome the Wizard I received has been a bit of a disappointment came with broken vtx the 90 sma connector and the pin inside just fell out of the box and when I went to set it up with beta flight I I found out they had the receiver wires plugged into wrong port and 3 out of 4 motors have bad bearings but for how cheap it was I can't really complain sorry for rambling love your videos keep up the great work
You said it can do "HD racing"....Do you need to replace the cam, or add another one on top?? Sorry im new to drones -- I want a race drone but I also want to be able to put the new Runcam3 on there so I can record nice videos.
Hey Stu, just read on the Betaflight GitHub that Diatone now includes instructions NOT to upgrade the FC to any version higher than 3.0.x as there is a problem with bricked ESCs using the passthrough feature. Can you confirm which version of BF and BLHeli_S you are running and what your ESC protocol is? Thanks mate!
is it milled out under the FC? Would like to see the frame stripped down. I wanna look for stress risers, although it looks plenty tough. Great review as usual. cheers mate.
Hey Stu! The GT2 is out of stock basically everywhere except for AliExpress, which seems to have tons of them (which makes me suspicious). A lot of them seem sketchy in terms of if they're legit by looking at their pages alone. Would you trust the listings for the GT2s on Ali, or should I just wait till more stock comes in to not get a knock-off lemon?
looks like a pretty tight fit in there, i imagine there must be some limitations to the kind of receiver that can be fitted? im not a taranis user so im concerned that a tgy-A6C (like incl with the new tgy evolution transmitter) might not fit. also, what kind of price range are we talking about for this neat little kit? and where did you pick one up? great review, thx for making it
Hi Stew, I'm just wondering what the difference between the 2480kv and the 2300kv racing edition motors are? I just ordered a GT (while I'm rebuilding my only other quad) with the 2300kv and I'm hoping I haven't been ripped off hahah.
i just ordered this drone. but i'm new to drones and really bad with all the technical stuff about them. i was wonder what others parts aside from the drone do i need to fly it? i aslo got a fatshark fvp aswell as FrSky Taranis X9D and a Crazepony Flysky Mini Receiver. is this everything i need or am i missing somthing. and thanks for the video great review
Question, When you hook up to Blheli S, what version is on the ESC's? I am have some issues with my ESCs and Ditone is having me down grade my Betaflight and try to flash again. If that dosnt work I need to Arduino flash the ESCs. I thought it A-H 60 vs 16.2 but I am not sure if I remember right.
UAVfutures Are you going to do an update video on it? Did you fit the leds? Excellent review btw, it pushed me to getting the gt2, it's my first quad and have bought the Diatone Gt2, Fatshark Hd3, furious tru diversity module, menace patch and a pair of tbs triumph, 15 set of the dal prop 5040 v2, turnigy evolution radio. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything ;) As you can see I've watched a fair few of your reviews.
Have you seen that Banggood have switched the motors out to 2300kv? The page still has your lovely videos embedded reviewing the 2480. I was thinking of getting one previously, what do you reckon the impact of the change on this little beast will be? Cheers, keep up the good work :)
Amazing frame, I bought the naked frame and i build it with flip F4, aikon 30a, xnova 2205 2600kv, frsky xsr, hawk eye 200mw and hs1177, wow, for sure my best quad.... only a suggest, for the races would be nice to have a lexan canopy...
Hello UAVfutures I am just getting into fpv racing quads and I was just wondering if I bought the Diatone Crusader GT2 what would I need to get it into the air? Thank you
I'm thinking I'll build mine-i really enjoy putting computers together and such so I think it will be a good fun thing to do for me! Good luck on choosing what to do!
I've noticed that some Quadcopters are coming out with lower profile designs (Quadcopters with shorter standoffs), it seems to me that the lower they are the faster the quadcopter, correct ? like the diatone GT200 and the Cameleon, could you do a video on that? also I have always been a fan of placing the battery underneath the quadcopter when starting out, and all my friends were saying no no no, but now look, i think it has proven a point. I think its just more stable when it flies. maybe you can do a video on that too vs batteries on top
I'm having trouble getting my ia6 receiver to fit in my gt200. I removed the cover and shrink warped it but it still crams into the FC when I close the hood. Should I switch receivers? What receiver do you like to use with your evolution?
If you are impressed with 60 amps burst (i know for a quad it is a lot) need to know that some car esc can reach 1000+ amps. With this quad you need something like a turnigy ultimate nano tech with 90c rating
Good to see an instruction manual. I bought a quad from HK with no instructions. Nothing online except customer uploads and still don't know what 1 of the wires was for. lol
i think you went a little overboard on the negative critiques about the quad.... if you are concerned about the amount of material from the engravings on the arms of the quad....... if u want to straighten the arms just go to the hardware store and pick up some clear epoxy and fill in the lettering and u basically made the fix for the battery just zip tie it and move on with life .... now i don't know if u can leave the usb adaptor plugged in and if you can leave it in and your not worried about the weight of the adaptor, i would just leave it plugged in and zip tie it to secure to the body of the quad somewhere and call it a day this way u dont have to worry about forgetting to bring it if its zip tied to the quad than your never have to worry about forgetting it anywhere
yup that is what carbon fiber it made of.... well let me explain a little further: the carbon fiber is like a sheet or a cloth comprised of strands of carbon fibers woven into a pattern mostly in the shape os squares or box shaped pattern, after the carbon sheets are cut and molded into the desired shape the carbon fiber pattern is then wrapped with a plastic type of bag and hooked up to a vacuum pump and when turned on the pump creates a negative pressure then a resin based liquid is mixed up with an urethane or epoxy based resin mixed with a catalyst aka a hardener once the 2 chemicals are mixed together it causes a reaction between the resin and the carbon fiber the hoses that the vacuum pump is hooked up to is placed into a bucket with the epoxy/urethane liquid and when u open a valve the negative pressure created by the vacuum pump forces the liquid to be sucked up into the mold and saturates the carbon fiber sheets, once the resin is all sicked up into the mold its set aside to cure prob overnight and released from the mold and that's how the carbon fiber becomes something, whatever the mold is the part ios then taken out of the mold to reveal the now molded part and then it's trimmed, sanded and then wet sanded with a fine grade wet/dry sandpaper and polished back up to a high gloss shine..... so if i were to make a carbon fiber part and the take a dremel and engrave my name in it and u didn't want any engraving on the part u would take epoxy and fill in the engraving then sand it back smooth and give it a polish and voila yes epoxy is what carbon fiber is made harden with lol sorry for the book i just wrote u on carbon fiber but im hope u got some good info from it
3M makes this urethane glue that has 2 tubes side by side and you put it in this gun thing kinda like a caulking gun and it has a special tip u screw on the front and as u pump the gun to squeeze the glue out it mixes it together and within a few minutes they have 1 hour, 30 min, and even 1 min curing glue, its so strong that 3M says its as strong as welding or if not stronger than welding it has many uses, mostly it used in the auto body field to repair bumpers but its also used to bond panels together if u were replacing a quarter panel on a car/truck i can use this urethane to bond the panels together instead of using a welder and its an approved method of repair
Dan Nixon if u have a Lamborghini and it gets into an accident and cracks the carbon fiber monocoque chassis is broken they repair it with epoxy/urethane glue
Great review, totally agree about the USB and UART (receiver ports). I managed to plug the USB connector into the wrong port (whilst it was disassembled to replace a faulty VTX) and killed the serial! (board still works, just can't connect it to any more) Battery weight is more like 350g though when you've added the antenna, receiver, strap and props, still a pretty good weight. Now I wanna see you try and break that bottom plate :)
That is quite a package right there. Amazing what can be had below 300, this or the jaguar for instance. Not really an entry model, in right hands it will kick butts.
hi again. thanks for all your help..... I ordered gt2 200..and the test of date keeps changing. now I want have it until after Christmas. smh...did they do that to you... I ordered it back in November 2nd
Where is the. Best place to buy ? You are great at reviewing quads keep it up I am going to try to get a race group started in northeastern North Carolina USA
how does it compare to the Shuriken X1??? they are two awesome pre-built quads at the same price point. I will buy one of them, which is better and why?
Picked one up at my LHS yesterday... came with the wrong camera (PAL) and won't talk to the bootloader when I try to update Betaflight. Any suggestions on the latter? Tried the bootloader button but no joy.
Should we assume the smaller 175 and 150 Crusader GT2'S are just as good as the 200? The reason why I ask is FAA in USA requires a second person to keep "line of sight" on the quad when pilot uses googles if the quad is 250 or more grams. I would like to be able to fly by myself and can't with the 200 size version.
I need help I've had my crusader 200 for almost a month now. Had trouble with the Reciever. Finally got a full Reciever connected just to try to get it in the air. Now I'm dealing with some kind of set up problem. When I move the throttle past about 25% it goes full. I've gone through every setting on the TX that has to do with throttle, recalibrated the ESC in betaflight, and belheli. Stumped. I just want to fly.
Do you think the GoPro session angle is steep enough?? SO RELEASE VIDEO 2 NOW!!!! I NEEED TO KNOW... this could very well be my underground car park racer for this winter!! It looks almost immortal....
Damn. that looks cool and the camera holder is also pretty nice. But i always think with X Frames the battery is not protected at all. You easily crash directly on the battery when it hangs under the frame.
hey i love your vids there very helpfull i actually built the eachine wizard that you built and i wanted to upgread into this drone but still need help on how to use beta fly and how to flash them and what to do would you ever make a video on that? and would i be able to use everything from the eachine build to fly this one just switch the receivers? thanks so much
Those appear to be Edge Racing motors (2205 it appears) from what I can see in the BG pics. I typically run Edge Racing Lite R2205 2480kv motors in my builds, and they are power houses, but can be inefficient at times depending on prop choice. I would be curious to note which motors those are exactly, if they can be purchased separately, and how efficient they are.
