FYI, for anyone who is about to buy this, DO NOT simply unpack everything as he did here. He just wanted to show you all the pieces. However, the poles are in different colored bags (clear or red) because one color is the Left side and one color is the Right side. So make it easy on yourself and don’t simply unwrap everything at once.

Added this to my bucket list a few days ago and took delivery of it about an hour ago. This was a complete bundle version with the Nitro Max expansion pack, Mapex T670 drum throne, Alesis headphones and VisionAMP amplifier, all purchased from Gear4Music. Congratulations! I have *you* to thank for this 😄. No worries, though. I've been thinking about this for a long time. Never really could afford something like this when I was a kid and never tried to venture into music through other means. But after turning 50 last year, I told myself I would make these things part of my bucket list and I would spend time to familiarize myself with this and try to become somewhat decent (um, the drums are not the only thing I'm interested in 😉). Haven't put much effort into it yet, but as I'm clearing out some old hobbies, the playing and practising will be in focus from now on. My goals? To suck less at this 😄. Thanks for sharing the unboxing and test run 👍🙂. I will now try it myself.

I’m using the Mapex P400TW. It fits. The right pedal will clip onto the kick base plate on the right end of it, but I all fits. Works well.

I watched other reviews, but they didn't make it clear whether I should buy it or not, and the comments on those reviews made it even more donfusing, but you pointed out what I needed to know! I haven't played the DRUMS ever in my life, but I have played just a single drum in school. I'm about to learn, and this seems like a good beginner kit!

why begginers? its good for every drummer on budget in aprtament. The sound from module is good, pad triggers are great and if you connect with usb to vst plugins you can become pro sound drummer. I recommend for the price

Awesome man! I started drumming with a Alesis DMLite Kit and after having a lot of fun and the great wish to play double bass everything changed. Today I'm playing a Mapex Armory with two kick drums! And I love it. Alesis is the right way to start and to see if drumming is what you really like!🤘🤘🤘

I was sold on this kit about two weeks ago just by doing research, I’ve just sold my acoustic kit, I’m a beginner, but live with a housemate so need something quit to practice. Anyway this video has completely put any doubts to bed and I will be purchasing this on Tuesday. Public holiday here in aus on Monday 😢

It’s low to the floor. The front legs are only 24” (the rear are 27). Getting snare and hi hat placement ideal with the module there too is a pain. What are you guys using to raise this off the floor a few inches?

Mine already have some issues and it was bought last week....the hihat sound seems off, doesn't always produce a sound when hitting it. That and also the crash cymbals occasionally will glitch. Not sure about the quality of Alesis drum kits

It has midi so theoretically triggering other VST’s or drum machines could solve this. I agree with you. Midi only via USB so you will need a computer for that…

I'm stuck in the middle of Nitro Max and Surge Mesh Special Edition. Surge SE has a kick tower suitable for double bass but Nitro Max doesn't. Surge SE would also be comfortable in terms of height. Nitro Max has Bluetooth and while that is convenient I'm not sure if it's a must for me. I can place my phone on top of where the sound module is for the Nitro Max but same thing it's convenient while I can probably live without it. One thing I really want is the BFD player. I don't think Surge SE comes with it but Nitro Max does. The 3 month Drumeo lessons isn't necessary for me. I'm doing grade 5 for now and I'm 169cm in height, are there anyone of you who are more advanced, more taller or both and use nitro Max? Are there definite solutions for the double bass issue on the Nitro Max kick tower?

I dunno if you already fixed the problem you mention here, but if not check out 65Drums review on the kit and he might be useful.. He had to regulate the kick sensitivity because he has a similar issue as yours and explained it in the video

That's not what it sounds like without headphones. With output going through an amplifier, it sounds more like you're banging on a bunch of cardboard trash cans. Show us a sample of what it sounds like going through an amplifier so we can hear the sticks tapping on the plastic cymbals, let's see how obtrusive it is.
