Is This The BEST Filipino Restaurant in Malaysia?! 🇵🇭 (Kuala Lumpur Mukbang 🇲🇾)

Right before arriving in Kuala Lumpur City, Malaysia, I spent a month traveling in the Philippines. But since I've been constantly moving from country to country, it takes my body a couple of days to adjust to new, local dishes. I was craving Filipino food and luckily, someone I met earlier that week recommend Mabuhay Laguna Restaurant so I could satisfy my cravings!
The sizzling sisig and embutido dishes were more than I could've asked for and I couldn't have asked for a better Filipino experience in the heart of KL City :)
Mabuhay Laguna Restaurant Location: 3, Jalan Gereja, City Centre, 55000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Great vid as usual, Grace! By the way, "mabuhay" (pronounced mah-BOO-hai) comes from the root "buhay" which literally means life or to live. "Mabuhay" is akin to Spanish speakers saying "viva." It's to say "long live" and to express good will to someone.

Malaysian are not too keen in filippinos food. Neither did The filippinos living in Malaysia supports the business. Probably it was the price and exchange rate factor. We were operating a filippinos restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. It didn't last long tho.We had to change the whole concept and menu into a mixed menu, that had Thai and Malaysian food, to cut our losses we had to face.

Grace, for sure malaysian and thai food are spicy. Also, i find it strange too americans call chilli a pepper. Lady's finger they call ocra. Pepper to us means black pepper or white pepper. Capsicums are capsicums...again not pepper. Chilli is chilli, not pepper. KL is an international city as you already know by now. You can find many types of food here. Middle east, western, indian, chinese, koreans, japanese, vietnamese, thai and not surprising filipino food. The famous food street is jalan alor or alor street not far from bukit bintang golden triangle.

I usually want some soup when ordering dry-type dishes (like what you had) so it doesn't hurt to ask if they have some plain soup (esp if there's nilaga or bulalo -- JUST the SOUP and not the whole dish, to avoid miscommunication). Some just give it for free. Then I just spoon some of the soup to the rice for every bite I take. Yum!

buhay literally means life. mabuhay means long live. the prefix ma means full, plenty or overly. so if you want to comfortably communicate in filipino you can tagalogize common english root word to form an adjective. like pricy or heavy hence mapricy and maheavy. no one says maheavy but it wouldn't sound weird for filipinos but it's just an example because heavy alone is common enough there's no need to tagalogizely adjectified! but you can still use it maybe just to playfully complain on the weight lol!. ;D ,!!..
