Is This The BEST Fish & Chips In Clacton On Sea? 

Hi Tim, I live in Clacton all my life since 1971. I have been to many local fish & chips shops and GEO's is one of my favorites. Today I have ordered the same fish & chips with mushy peas with a cup of tea and water. The waitress remembered you. I was watching RU-vid you eating in this very same place, it has made my meal more enjoyable! LOL

When the plate of food came I thought the portion was quite small. When you held it up I was quite relieved. It looked like a large portion. I have a rare food allergy you see...I'm allergic to small portions.

That looks so good. I am literally salivating. Fish and chips always taste better by the seaside. I think it has something to do with the sea air. Anyway thanks for torturing me Tim. 😁

Our family always enjoy going to Clacton on sea and having Fish and chips at Geo's , normally it's very busy

My husband grew up in Clacton. When I was about 6 month pregnant with our 3rd we had a holiday there xxx

We usually go in there when we pop down to Clacton. Nephew wanted to go to clacton for his birthday treat and wanted fish and chips for lunch. Even the kids meals are big we couldn’t eat it all.

Gio’s used to the best, and while it is still great, the one in Clacton area for both quality and quantity is M&A Fish Bar. They are amazing and we drive approx 6 miles each way to get it

Was in Claxton Thursday for the airshow, didn't have our chips there though, unfortunately, but have ha d some in the past. They were pretty good.

That looks great, gonna have to try this place! My favourite fish and chips place is also in Clacton, its called John's fish bar and its a smaller one towards the back, highly recommend it

That was a great time of day to have fish and chips. It was nice and quiet. I would have been hungry and maybe eaten the lot and very little for tea.

For a hard water area that tea looked very decent , when we travel south it's rare we bother with tea as it is usually undrinkable. That fish looked perfect and the peas were spot on ( they shouldn't be pureed and need to be recognisable as a pea) Those chips were probably Maris Piper that do cook slightly paler than others but make the best chips , agreed an extra minute wouldn't have gone a miss. Your score of 9 very fair 👍

Geos is the best fish and chip shop in clacton as I go there every Friday for my tea ,you won't get any better then geos the food is absolutely brilliant 👌 😀

If you want a nice breakfast in Clacton pop into Armstrongs! I went there a few years ago with my Dog Dexter and the staff were amazing! Grace was Dexters favourite. The breakfasts are delicious!!

I’m 26 years old and I live about ten mins away from clacton. growing up in clacton whenever I have fish and chips there I tend to go there. You should go to youngs in frinton on sea next. Good work buddy!

Plate is nice - so often that pattern is in blue. Fresh cooked is best - even then if you take it home in a box it can "sweat" and the chips wilt. Best I have had is me and my daughter used to travel home from Carlisle where she was at Uni and stopped off in Haltwhistle to get chips - OMG the fish and chips were awesome because they were fresh cooked and we ate them straight away - hands down we agree the best we have had - and we live 20 mins away from Whitby and its quality fish and chips. When you said " I feel so lonely" I immediately thought of the song by the Police lol

Clacton looks lovley never been there an idea 💡 for future Tim thanks away back in 70s 😅 my chef boss busy Saturday wedding in hotel no more lemonade for us he brought through pints of tea hot kitchen but I tell you it done trick cool drinks you just want keep drinking in hot environments anyway enjoyed as allways thank you Tim

Have been to Geos many times. Food has always been excellent. If you go between 12-1pm you have to queue.

Best fish n chip shop in Clacton is the Sailor Boy in st Osephs absolutely delicious and a pub next door for when you wait

I'll give this chippy a go for their fish. The one I go to is facing the railway station. And if you like salt and pepper ribs. The Royal bajing are out of this world.

Cant believe that place was so empty, our fav fish shop is on the sea front opposite where you were filming, always get take away and sit on the benches amongst the flowers.

I was at Clacton on 19th July, and ate from the chippy by the entrance by the Pier, it was delicious far better than the ones local to me , especially with cold beers from the bar near by .

Tim, the best fish and chip shop in the UK is Krispies in Exmouth Devon - only my opinion but loads would agree. Exmouth is a great seaside town to walk around whilst its still summer if you get the chance. Enjoying your vids

Clacton must have really improved on its restaurants over the years, as in the 90’s wen my children were small, it was hard to find anywhere decent!

The best fish and chips in Clacton is in a place called the "Salior boy" near hutleys caravan park, don't take my word for it try it yourself and see 🙂

The Fish & Chip shop at the entrance of the pier is really good, their chips and curry sauce is amazing 🤩

It did look good Tim & like you it makes the difference to eat off nice crockery that’s a thumbs up for me. Can’t stand it when given anything chipped its sent back! Another place I’ve not been to in years will have to have a day out there & will try the chippie out👍

I live close to Clacton and Geos is the best chippy in the area by far. I would say usually their chips are a lot more crispy than that. I suspect the post rush visit meant slightly under done chips. You ought to try Pieseas Chippy in Old Harwich nearby. Local caught cod and and especially Skate is better than the posh restaurants can muster!
