I have had mine in my cabin for 2 years. I bought it. Unboxed it. Hooked it up and I have forgotten about it. I have never even onetime went into the settings lol. Keep meaning to up the psi just a tad. But right out of the box it’s been perfect
4yrs down the track - howz Our Life Block doing with the DAB EsyBox Mini and reliability? The only pump that seems to come near this in performance, efficiency and low noise is the Grundfos Scala2 but the Scala2 has profund reliability problems with the expectation from Grundfos that you throw it away when it needs repairing. 4 years of offgrid living would be a great test for any pump. Any issues with then DAB? I wonder if this pump is repairable if issues develop with seals, bearings or electronics. Am off grid here in Oz in a semi marine location which is a cruel environment for anything mechanical and electrical.
Hi looking into buying 1 of these pumps too water some housed cattle.... where I have the electricity supply and the place I want too connect the pumped supply too ...is approximately 18m from where my tank is going too be located...the info says that the pump can pull water from 8m deep.... my water tank is approximately 2 to 3 metres lower than my pumps location.... would my pump be able to draw water that far as its more distance than depth....would probably fit a foot valve to hold water in pipe...or would I have to fit pump outside next too tank.....just means running electricity too it and making it weather proof ect....any advice be much a appreciated thanks
Thanks for posting this video. How many kWs would you say you'd go through in a normal day? From the video it looks like ~0.3 kW while operating at 2bar and near 0.00 kW when pressure is achieved. I'm also assuming you use this for your home (sinks, toilets, shower, etc). I have purchased the same unit and will be installing in off-grid application and am hopeful your experience/answer will help me determine what size of battery bank will be required. Thanks!
Hey, the numbers you mention are right for our setup. We have 3 persons with showers, basins, water garden clean bike etc, not sure what we use a day but if you base on 0.3kW at operation would be about right. Cheers
Hi, would you recommend this pump for a domestic use? I need to install it in the attic, wich is on the bedrooms so I'm worried about the noise, my plumber reccomend this model for the low dB..is that true?
Yes definitely. It is quite compared to others I have used. Still makes some noise but you could build something to muffle that in your artic maybe. I would do it.
I installed one of these in my cabin and it’s directly under my bedroom. When it’s really quiet at night and someone cracks on the water I can barely hear it. I don’t even really notice it. I love this thing. Absolutely hassle free the last 5 years. I love it I know I’m years late for your question but figured I’d give my thoughts for anyone else.
Hey love your demonstration of the DAB e.sybox, was just looking at exactly the same system and came across your video. Can I ask what sort of water tank does this pump need to work off. Where I live you cannot connect this type of pump directly to the water supply and There needs to be a water tank supplying it but there does now=t seem to be any information on types of approved tanks. Sorry for the long message.
I'm considering this pump. Would you recommend it. Is it durable and seem like it will last and be trouble free? Mine will be installed inside. Its replacing the grundfos scala 2. Im on my 3rd scala 2 under warranty and every one of them leaked out the casing within 6 months of use. I only use it for my irrigation @ about 65-70 psi. Thanks.
So you didnt have luck with thegrundfos scala 2. This pump internals crack just after 2 year warranty expired. Local plumbers say theyve never heard of it happening with this pump. So i was considering the grundfos

@@Rob-te5ct no! They had a recall and allegedly corrected the problem. Pumps 1603-1901 are the leakers. Anything 1902 and up are supposedly redesigned not to leak. My 4th one (supposedly the recalled version) leaked from same spot. Because a plumber installed it and I didn't see the box, I can't be certain I actually got the recalled newer pump. Google grundfos scala 2 recall and it shows you how to look on the pumps box for the recalled numbers. Anything 1902 and up is fixed. So I will never know for sure if the plumber got me the new model because he threw away the box, prior to coming here.
