Mercadona sells two Borsao's good and cheaper wines: "garnacha mítica" and "barrica". Maradona also offers a montilla-moriles for a ridiculous price even cheaper than the wine for cooking. That's the one I use to drink while cooking with it: "fino Corredera".

Wonderful video today, we have just come back from Ciudad Real, lovely city, so easy to walk around. The Man from La Mancha area, Don Quixote, Sancho Panza & of course the author Miguel de Cervantes. Will have to look out for that wine in the supermarket, a nice warm evening, a glass of wine, and a book to read - perfect way to while away the hours. Hasta luego.

I enjoy the Marques de Caceres verdejo. Here in Los Angeles CA supermarkets, the 750 ml bottle is priced at $12, considered a good buy.

Another thing to love about Spain! Just last week got back from visiting my daughter in Seville (she's studying there). I bought a few wines around the 5 to 7 euro mark from the supermarket and was very satisfied. I also noted that when we went out to eat, the recommended wine the restaurant waiters suggested wasn't that expensive (I never paid more than 27 euros a bottle - often less that 20. This, in the UK, is of course unheard of! Gracias Tony

Good grief! You paid €27 for a bottle of wine in a restaurant in Spain??? How many Michelin stars did it have? I dread to think what the meal cost. Oh! And "unheard of" indeed! I eat out in reasonable restaurants in the UK, I buy decent wine and I rarely pay as much as £20. Are you just showing off a little bit?

@@janethaver3375 Not me! The Tony fellow above. I've rarely paid €27 in Spain for a meal including wine! And I've enjoyed many very good meals in Spain. Perhaps Tony frequents Club Gascon or La Trompette when he's in the UK. Although to be honest, I suspect it's more likely to be Wetherspoons or MacDonalds.😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

@@janethaver3375 PS I'm no great fan of Wetherspoons - depends largely on the location - but they do a more than acceptable Merlot. I can't remember how much it costs but it's less than €27!

In my view the Toros are the best quality wine in Spain for the price. Often overshadowed by the close by Ribrea's, however, Christopher Columbus chose to take Toro's on his ships when he set sale for the new world. Maybe he knew something.

Those wines are less than half the price than in the UK. That 7.5 E Faustino V is £12.50 here.

Stu,after telling passengers last week there's no need to show their liquids at security , they have at some airports reintroduced the rule of showing their liquids, it baffles passengers why they now have to do it, presumably it's for security purposes, John UK
