I wouldn't worry about getting covid19 , it has been massively exaggerated by corrupt politicians and mass media on the instructions of the subversive global elites for various reasons. Btw masks actually makes you more susceptible to illness.
'Is it over' Err, mmm, let me think, errr no, of course not. Stay in Turkey and apply for temporary residence. This would leave you with more options when the borders are reopened, and allow you to remain if a second wave of Covid19 hits. A lot of countries do not have their borders open between Turkey and the UK. So it makes common sense to remain where you are. Besides, think of how much you would save in Petrol and other expenses whilst you remain. You could even turn it into a bit of a holiday by visiting places when the lockdowns days are lifted. Meanwhile, Stay safe, secure and healthy. Look forward to Sunday.
If I was you I'd tour through Turkey before you head home...it's a beautiful country with so much to see in all directions. Good luck whatever you decide to do. There's always next year to pick up where you leave off if you have to go home now
Hi guys, 1 if you go back to UK you could catch the covid, there is said to be a lot there , 2 both of you can drive your camper, 3 your eating the anti Covid fresh food, that's not as freshly available in the UK, 4 diesel is very cheap now, you can move around from anywhere to anywhere now, that's just what I think, there is not many van lifers still vanlife blogging, other vanlifers parked up their vans and gone home, and they just hope and pray their homes are keeping safe thousands of miles away, you guys know your van is safe, good luck guys see you Sunday.
To be honest I'd stay in Turkey for now and apply for the residency visa which will give you more options. It seems you will have the freedom to move around Turkey in a few weeks so you can go explore, you wouldn't have that choice in the UK at the moment and to be truthful you are safer there. Stay safe both of you.. We will be watching 👀
Guys if I were you I would stay put in Turkey that way your safe and still enjoying the Turkish hospitality until the situation improves in the countries you need to travel through going forward stay safe enjoy Turkey 🇹🇷 xx
Awwww guys, i really had my heart in my Mouth.😍😍😣. Like you said, your van is your home so basically you can decide to stay where ever you like while you wait to resume your travels. If i was in your shoes, i suppose i would take a pause in Turkey and carryon exploring there if the Lockdown is eased and resume once the international borders are mostly open. Hey! Turkey has great beaches and Air balloon display i hear😀. I just wish you all the best, i hope your family back in the UK are ok and understanding in these difficult times. These are truly challenging times my Dears. God bless and Stay safe.😍😚❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Fiana - it is all a little confusing LOL - but we are lucky on the family front as they are all well travelled and versed in speaking / video calling across oceans and seas !! My dad has sailed the Atlantic and ridden a motorbike across the desserts of North Africa when I was a child ... so my role model is delighted that I travel and adventure like him 🚐🙌😘 best wishes and hope you can join us on Sunday xx
I would recommend staying in Turkey. There are so many beautiful places on the Mediterranean or Aegean. The best way to camp is south of Troy. In Ören / Burhaniye .. in the "Altin Kamp" camping. It is wonderful there because there are many beautiful places nearby. Pergamon, Anzac cove, Gallipoli, Troja, Büyük ada Island and many great mountains👍👍❤🇹🇷
Turkiye cheaper and safe. i think you need to go country side. you should live with villagers black sea region at summer , fantastic area for living .and nature, history, culture, music, tea gardens, sea, foods mountans, rivers, lakes .don't go without see there from Turkey . the situation better than İstanbul agean and mediterian region also super to travell but it gonna hot
As i drove through Europe from Tenerife to Romania a few weeks ago, through the pandemic, i can confirm that the transit corridors through Europe work, you don't have a quarantine while on the way to your home, however you will have to call your foreign office to get the latest up to date info. That would be the sensible option. However if you want to carry on, you surely need the residency, or visa extension. Safe travels.
Hi - that is great to know !! having up to date info is the best ... I hope you are safe and sound at home now and keeping well - thank you for your message 🚐🙌😉 Marianne xx
I would lend you my crystal ball but it's having a few problems at the moment. As you can stay where you are, I would, and see how things play out for a bit. You'll always remember this time in your lives with so many lovely people around you, it's almost a shame when it ends!! Keep smiling 😄
yes we are lucky to be 'stuck' where we are with nice people who have welcomed us. It will be sad when we do eventually leave here but have made friends for life. Agree that waiting it out in Turkey sees like a good suggestion - we'll decide in Sundays Live chat - stay safe x
Safety first my friends, do not make the same mistakes as others do..ignoring your government travel advice and to go home, it might get you into something that may be worst than what it is now...be safe and all the best for you friends...
Thanks Wobblebox Adventures - we always try and look at the bright side of everything - so pleased to hear that you are enjoying our adventures - Thank you and keep safe x 👍🚎
Think waiting it out and getting the temporary residency permit! Kinda solves a lot of problems and keeps you the safest throughout the rest of this virus stuff! Good luck!
Chris and Marianne I really feel for you both having to make this decision. I think applying for the extension or temporary residency is a no brainer and gives you a number of options. You could discover Turkey. It may be that the borders open in the mean time and you could travel onwards or back into Europe. Whatever happens I am sure that you will complete your round the world trip and I and many others will be following you. Best of luck guys and stay safe.
Thanks for your comment and kind words - It does seem that staying in Turkey is a sensible decision and allows us to keep our options open whilst still exploring this beautiful country - We'll make the plan during Sundays Live Chat - hope you can join us and thanks for your support 🙏👍😀
Hi guys, love your videos and I really hope you can continue safely on your epic journey. Looking forward to the live chat this evening. Best wishes and keep safe.
Wait it out in Turkey, apply for the Temporary Visa. The talk here in Europe is that some countries are opening corridors for travel. At the moment Spain and Italy are not included, but hey you know things change hourly, daily & weekly 😷😎 stay safe and healthy.
Hi Yolanda - thanks for the suggestion - yes it really is a changing situation and taking it one day at a time - stay safe and hope you can join us for the live chat on Sunday
I would definitly apply for the recidency permit. That would reduce your risks whatever option you should go for later on. Secondly, I think travelling slowly around Turkey would be far more rewarding than hurrying through Russia. If you could extend a tour of Turkey into Gergia, even better. You can allways approach the Americas from Europe next year.
Hi Jon - That is nice to know they are sharing the interview about !! we seem to be getting everywhere LOL !! It is nice to. know that the media are sharing some positive content 🤗🚐💜 Thank you for your message xx
Hey there. I am also in the same situation visa-wise here in Istanbul. I applied for a one year tourist residence permit and have my appointment for it in July. You also need a residence permit to be able to extend the vehicle's permit. My car has already expired here (and car insurance as well), and the customs office told me with the residence permit I can get a two year extension for the car. For the residence permit you also need a Turkish health insurance (which isn't expensive), and that should help you out if you wanted local healthcare cover. Such complicated times, and I feel for you. Keep up your good spirits!
Of course I've subscribed! I ain't daft! Right. So as I may not be around on Sunday, I'll give you my 'two-penneth' now. I would be quite happy for you to stay in Turkey, as I would really miss your little car park now! (By the way, when you did the 'head-home' thing, you should have drawn a picture of Trudy, as she's your home...) Anyway, digressing over. My thought is, that if you absolutely HAVE to come back to the UK, my suggestion would be that, as you said many weeks earlier that this is a bit of a 'whistle-stop' tour and you intend to go back again to enjoy the sights, sounds and foods etc., at a slower pace, you could maybe, when it's all safe, go back from the UK to as far as the Istanbul car park (which definitely deserves another visit!), but do the slower tour to there, staying longer and enjoying each place you visit, whether new or old to you, then when you're leaving the car park for the second time, carry on with the original, faster tour, with the intention once again, of revisiting the newly-seen places, albeit at the slower pace, as originally intended! A bit confusing I know, but it's just an idea. You of course, should do whatever you both think is best! If they do let you go onwards, then maybe you should do that section a bit slower, just in case you get stuck for a while in a Russian car park! Please get that medical insurance sorted though! We can't have you two catching it!
I think you should stay in Turkey. After June 3, rumors are circulating between cities. If you do get better if the tour in Turkey Aegean Region, Mediterranean Region Black Sea and from there you can go up. Already your tour takes an average of 2 months. After your tour ends, both the news becomes clear with Covid-19 and your world tour continues. :)
All the world is changed...it's very hard to give advice...you must to listen your Sixth sense and let things happen...Turkey is a very beautiful place...Take care and everythig will be good...
Stay in 🇹🇷 if you can get temporary residency big country to explore lovely people to interact with . Will miss live chat as left UK 13 years ago and now live in paradise of New Zealand 🇳🇿. Stay safe and keep those videos coming you are a lovely entertaining couple . 😎👋
Thanks Lindsay - Yes looking forward to hopefully being able to see more of Turkey, Wow New Zealand - always wanted to visit but haven't made it there yet. So pleased to hear you're enjoying our travels we love sharing them with you - stay safe. xx
Get temporay residency permit. You should not find a safety places in every country like as in Turkey and I think you should have a option to go back Turkey.
Hi both - thanks for your comment 👍😀Think staying put keeps our options open. Hope you can join us on the live chats and we'll make a decision and a plan. Stay safe - sending your virtual hugs xx
Hello from Kentucky! All your options have their issues and I totally see why you're having problems deciding what to do. IMO, I would apply for the temporary residency in Turkey and wait it out for a little longer. While you're waiting, I would try and figure a plan to make it back home and do a reset of your trip at a later date once everything calms down. I know that stinks but if you continue on now, you may get get farther at first but then get caught in a much worse situation that you're in now (which by the way, seems like the Turkish people have treated you both great during your stay)....Good luck in whatever you choose....and of course, I'll be watching :)
Hi and thank you for your message .... we are delighted you will be watching and we hope to have more info to throw into the decision making process to help us all decide 🤔😂🚐🌺 best wishes to Kentucky !!
I like that your videos are close to real-time. Some RU-vidrs post months after they filmed as they are scared for their safety. I like watching yours as you are experiencing life in real-time so we can all relate. Do they have the test available in Istanbul to see if you had the virus and if so do you take it? I’m waiting to take it after our state reports no new cases. I may be waiting awhile unfortunately.
Hi Chris & Marianne. I think that you should apply for temporary residence status in Turkey. Then perhaps if you can move around the country. travel to Anatolia and towards Ankara. If you stay in rural areas you should be safer against possible contagion. Cities are more dangerous because of population density. You are in a difficult situation and this is made more difficult by the unpredictability of Covid-19. I certainly would not consider returning to the UK as this would be a long journey and involve crossing multible jurisdictions who may impose quarantine conditions. You seem to be safe in Istanbul and maybe you should stay there if you are granted temporary residency, and wait for the situation to pan out. You have strong spirit and this will pull you through. All your subscribers are rooting for you. Very best wishes to you both.
Glad you can leave the camp site and explore, watching you tonight visiting the blue mosque area and grand bazaar. I stayed with my wife on the Asian side Kadikoy in Jan and March, my Jan trip was for a hair transplant which was worth it its looking good! March we came back for my wife 50th birthday as we really liked the place and the hospitality,.
That is awesome! We have seen there seems to be a lot of health tourism here - which is a sign of how good the systems are !! We are loving the friendship, food and hospitality ... thank you for your message xx best wishes Marianne 🤗💐
HI Burcu. We could stay in Turkey and wait to see what happens. Will have to extend our visa, which is an option. If we do stay in Turkey we will create a whole Turkey series as there are so many amazing things to see . Hopefully movement opens next week from Istanbul. We'll decide the plan during Sunday's live chat so make sure you join us 😀 Stay Safe
Thanks - so pleased to hear you enjoyed this episode. Decisions never easy when we don't know how the situation will change over the coming months - but we'll make the most of what every decision we make. Join us Sunday on our live chat and let us know your thoughts - stay safe 🙏🚎
Love the positive vibes !! If we can travel we will. If the borders open late and we miss the weather window then it's not over it's just on pause - we travel and explore full time and will continue to do so - looking forward to coming back to Australia haven't been there since 1990 !!1 Stay safe
@@TREADtheglobe Yep, so much changed to positive since 1990, you guys will love it, we don't wear huge collar shirts or big flare pants, nor we have long mullet hair cuts anymore😅😂Seriusly guys if borders do not open on time, I would strongly suggest like the gentelmen in one of the comments. Travel down along Western, than Southern and come up middle of the country to mid North and back through along Black Sea. CHEERS MATE. STAY SAFE.🚌🇹🇷🚌🇦🇺🚌👍
Yep that is defo a good plan and if it is too late and the winter hits we can always wait it out here maybe .... we will have to look at that visa !! Best wishes Marianne xx
I think, going further for your adventure is not feasible anymore in 2020. So, either you may go back to the UK once the gates are opened or stay in Turkey as much as you can and keep saving money. Also, you may explore other touristic places in Turkey while the situation gets better.
Ooooft , this is a hard one guys! Straight off the bat ( I might revise this lol ) I would say wait it out BUT , time and weather may be against you ? See you guys on Sunday. Stay safe.
Definitely go for the temporary residence visa/order, your car park is your home 🏡 🚚 your turkish neighbours are your family 👪, stay safe folks, enjoy 🇹🇷 lookf forward to Sunday's live chat ♥️💙
Stay in Turkey and go to Çeşme, Bodrum and Fethiye. Summer has come and you can pass a good time in those places. You can also swim etc. maybe after 1 june
Do the temporary residence in Turkey, with the option to come back into Turkey if you can't go further east towards Russia. That seems to make the most sense. God bless you in your decision. I'm watching this video, having come back in from my church service today. I missed your live broadcast.
Hi, My plan would be to get the Turkish temporary residency and defer the trip into Russia till next year. Turkey is a great place to explore and you might be able to spend some time in other nearby countries as well. If you need to go to the UK for the Russian visa, consider leaving Trudy and flying. Also, as as resident, you might be able to sort the visa locally. Best wishes, Stephen,.
Thanks Stephen yes good plan. We would love to explore Turkey if the world situation doesn't improve. We would have to return to the UK for the Russian via but as you say we have friends here and could leave Trudy for a week whilst we fly back and sort it out - time will tell - stay safe
Hi Elke - this is a strong possibility would love to explore Turkey whilst we wait to see what happens in the World. We have loved our time in Turkey and everyone has been so kind and welcoming 🇹🇷We'll come up with a plan in Sunday's live chat.
I can see your future plan. :)) You will stay and travel inside the Turkey. And one day, you will visit İzmir, meet with me and we'll have a nice dinner. Have a nice trips :)
Sir, i have been your subscriber since 1 month and watching all your vlogs but i am commenting here for the first time, first of all i loved your attitude and hard work toward your videos, keep doing it i hope you will get more subscribers and views🤗 second thing is that i want to give you some suggestions for your future videos that you need to keep your video length atleast for 10 to 15 mins so people can watch your vlogs constantly and didnt get bored and also you will have some more content to post on daily basis, hope you like it and if you like it then please do follow this step you will acheive your goals, love and respect❤
Helo sir n mam. As per my thinking i can have two option 1)take a direct flight to uk if available with ur van in cargo ship together. 2)stay as much as you can in instanbul.bcoz u will get invited in the house by your neighbour hood.and do renew ur insurance online if available.so take care.bye
Thanks for the comment and staying in Turkey until we see what is happening seems like the best ides. We don't need to find a place as we live in our van and have everything we need in it - stay safe
You guys have made such good contacts in Turkey, and the media has made a big deal of you! You are safer there solely because the Turks and the government are more aware of your predicament. If you make it all the way to the end of Russia and get stuck there, you'll be starting from square one. Plus I think the cases are worse in Russia. I'd say wait it out in Turkey, though that probably means you wouldn't be able to go into Russia until next Spring right? I guess you'd have to wait in Turkey until you can go back to the UK
Hi Brandon, sounds like a good plan. We have heard the cases in Russia are quite high and who knows how the situation will develop over the coming months. Would be good to wait it out in Turkey such a great country and people are really so nice here. - stay safe x
Wow, I have started to write a comment about what you should do three times now, and each time I get stuck when it comes to considering what to do in the autumn, there are still so many unknowns. I am sure you will have a few weeks touring Turkey as soon as you are able, but I guess the logical (safe) option would be to head back to the UK (even though it is not that nice here at the moment), regroup and head off again early next year, but you . Just a thought, did you look at Africa, (maybe Morocco) for the winter? that is probably not an easy option either.
Wow indeed !! it really is a tricky one ... there are so many considerations and the news and information is very fluid .... things are changing all the time 😜😘 but we look forward to Sunday to talk it through xx
Wait it out,do not rush to move. If another wave happens best your in Turkey. If worried about winter in Russia get snow chains....we can then view whilst sitting next to a log fire and comment....hard choices indeed
Thanks David - we'll have to just wait and see. We do have snow chains onboard already but not sure Trudy is ready to face a Russian winter !! Stay safe
Hi Chris & Marianne, I’d definitely stay away from the UK, we bought our first camper in Dec 19 ( good timing ! ) we managed a couple of short trips one near to the lockdown mainly to visit my wife’s Nan (97yr old) who was very poorly and was thought not to be around much longer although she is still holding on, and we had a couple of experiences of hostility towards us. From various vlogs & blogs it seems to be getting worse with “ vigilante” behaviour towards campers in general especially if you like to wild park. Keep going on your round the world trip. Stay safe.
HI John, Yes we have heard some horror stories from UK and other countries. A lot of the public don't realise that some people live in their vans / motorhomes and don't have a home to go to. Especially with campsites closing where do you go !. Local councils should have allowed vans to park in council carparks with facilities whilst in lockdown that way it stops everyone moving around. During times of crisis it is the time to all stick together and help. When we reflect after the event some people / places are going to be seen as amazing and some are not - Lucky for us in Turkey everyone has been amazing !!! Stay safe - Chris
Hi Ahmet - we LOVE Turkey and if we can't go East for a while would love to explore more of Turkey if the movement in Turkey frees up. So pleased you are enjoying our adventures - lots more to come and hope you'll keep letting us show you the world even after we eventually leave. We'll announce the plan live during our Live chat on Sunday night after we've discussed with everyone - hope you can join us - stay safe 😀👍🙏
Hmm, their is actualy a thiny british immigrant community in Fethiye, but my advice would be Datça. Just pick one, you can also take a blacksea advanture 🥳🥳
Yes Datça looks amazing !!! Hope the movement frees up soon and we can move around Turkey and share this amazing country. Hope you can join us on Sunday for the live chat - stay safe
Hi Great video love the channel ,I think coming back to UK not good ,not sure if you've heard but there's some horrible things going on re vanlife/Motorhome ,it's embarrassing as I am British ,but many of the public are bullying and intimidating a lot of people in vans etc , many friends have had problems , it only seems to be happing in UK ,it does seem other country's are being much more diplomatic and friendly about it ,sorry if this is a bit depressing but it is the truth, all those friendly people there helping you seems ideal and more balanced than in the UK .👍❤️💙❤️❤️💙❤️
Thank you for your message - it does seem to be a different experience out there for van life / Moho folk at the moment and I do hope there is some perspective when this is over and a better understanding of what we do - we hope that by sharing our story people can understand why we do this and that we are just normal human beings just living on wheels .... best wishes Marianne xx
I doubt if you will be able to continue as b4 --- as most countries only allow their own nationals : another thing u need to keep in mind is the uk is no longer a EU state. Visa extension? Well, that maybe ur only possibility : believe it or not I stayed in Peru for ten years on extension visas.
I do not think that you will have any problems staying longer while borders are locked down. You can also ask for extention to stay. I cannot make any solid decision on my share about holiday and I do not think that you can eighter. So best wishes and good luck. If you need any help, I know you have many people ready to help you. I send you mail before with many others.
Hi Kum Kart !! Thank you so much for your message and we are so grateful for all the support ... It has been great to be here during this pandemic and we know that we are super lucky 🙌😉🇹🇷💐
Seems like a good option. Maybe extend our visa and wait it out in Turkey and make some videos on the rest of Turkey we have a lot to see here - Movement from Istanbul should ease next week if all goes according to plan, We are LOVING Turkey - xx
you are currently in one of the most diverse countries in the world. with so many historical sites, blue flag beaches, waterfalls and a landscape second to none ( cappadocia , pamukkale , saklikent , mount ararat, lake van, mount emurut ,the lycian trail, olu deniz, aspendos, national parks and lots of castles and lakes and the list goes on and on and on. ). go and explore the maldives of turkey, the turkish grand canyon, the turkish wilderness of the black sea region with hidden gems around very corner. this country has it all. last but not least.... you have the turkish hospitality. you are never a visitor here.... but a guest. speak to anyone who has traveled / hitchhiked through Turkey, they will tell you about the generosity of the Turkish people. you can travel around Turkey for a whole year and still only see a fraction of what it has to offer. i am sure you will not be disappointed.
Hi Orthan - WOW we LOVE this comment. Now we are excited !!!! If we can;'t go on which seems likely to be the case then we would like nothing more than to spend time here in Turkey. We have just scratched the surface arriving in Istanbul and we know there is so much to see. Hopefully we will be able to get a visa and if we end up staying would love to see and show the world how wonderful this country is. Thank you and we hope we will be able to move around soon - stay safe
@@TREADtheglobe i am sure the locals there can help you. why not speak to the media about your situation. the next time a news crew comes for an interview ask them for their help, they can mediate with the proper authorities, i sure they will be glad to help. good luck
Stay in Turkey get a residency permit and health insurance Not that expensive stay for the year as there’s plenty of places to visit and next year set off on your journey earlier into Russia deff beat the weather. Trust me time will fly past it’s already 6 month into this year. I live in Marmaris so if you pop over to this part av got a bottle of pink gin for yous 😋
This is a real option for us. We also need to research about the vehicle as after 6 months foreign vehicles need to be registered so just trying to work that our so we understand implications. Also have the issue of the Russian visa that if we don't get into Russia we believe that we have to get new one from London so also researching that - lots to think about. Keep in touch would love to meet for a drink !! 😀🚎🍹
Thanks Ugur 🙏👍Yes Turkey is perfect location for continuing east - Hopefully the world situation improves soon . We'll come up with a plan in Sunday's live chat after talking to everyone - hope you can join us - keep safe 😀🚎
I think you should stay in Turkey, but u should move to south along the sea. There are lots of places to visit. Healthcare system in Turkey a way beyond Georgia and Russia, also cheaper. On that route there are lots of State Hospitals, University Hospitals as well as private hospitals. Tourists for healthcare comes to Turkey every year, as their insurance offers healthcare and holiday together. You should drive to Canakkale (Dardanellas), Ayvalik and Cunda island, Dikili, Foca, Izmir (3rd biggest city in Turkey), Cesme, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Marmaris, Datca, Fethiye, Oludeniz, Dalyan, Sarigerme, Kas, Kalkan, Kemer, Antalya, Alanya, Side. Then go to Adana and begin to drive to north, in Nevsehir u will fiind Kapadokya and go north until u reach Balck sea, Samsun(via Ankara) or Ordu and go on for your planned route. In this route all places are touristic along sea side. There are lots af antic cities, touristical places, nature. U will love it. Along thi sorute, there are lots of hospitals in high level medical care. For Turkish citizens, intercity travel is forbidden for some cities, I dont know if this covers u too, but u can esaily take permission from local authority. Weather will be very hot to travel and stay in car in South especially in July and August.
Hi Tank - Thank you so much for your comment and suggested places to visit - that sounds amazing - we have looked into some of the places already and they look fabulous !!! We know that Turkish health care is very good so feel safe from that perspective. Think movement should be freeing up within Turkey next week ? We'll come up with a plan during our live chat on Sunday. Hope you can join us.
Thinking about your situation my dear friends is very stressful. " Do I stay or do I go? " Its your Life and ultimately your decision at the end of the day, but I would favour stay where you are now in Turkey , you are safe and secure, not wanting for anything really? Maybe except for a long soak in a bubble bath lol! Then as the borders open up gradually you can move on! Towards your next part of your journey. At the moment all you need to worry about is , what factor sun cream you are putting on? " Good luck with your decision my dears it's not easy I know. Returning to the UK would be a non brainer idea , carry on with your goal, carry on with your dream of driving around the World! You can make it happen! "If in doubt do nowt!" Xxx
Thanks - yes we have a lot of decisions to make and like everyone we are not sure how the world situation will develop. We WILL make it around the world and we WILL continue travelling full time but there are a few things that get in the way. When the borders open is not in our control and if we don't get into Russia by July we will have to get new visa and to do that it has to be done in London. Looking forward to chatting about it in Sundays Live chat 😀🚎
Hey friend how you guys move that nice looking van from one place to the others? I love the adventure you gus do but I ask my self how you guy do this all over the world blessings from el Salvador 👍👍👍💙
Hi xx When we change continents there are boats that are called RORO and they carry vehicles and containers .... but we will have to see how we can move at the moment - sending love to ES 🙏💜🌴 Marianne xx
Honestly guys things are getting really tough !I am really worried about you!If I were in your shoes I ld rather return to Europe as soon as possible than hunging around in strange places under this covid pandemic.I 'll try to participate in the live chat!Keep the moral high!Keep safe!😘❤🌍🇬🇷
No plans to return to the UK unless we have to. We are adventure travellers and want to travel. Even in these strange times we can maybe explore Turkey. Movement should open up next week from what we have heard. We'll have a good chat about it in the live chat on Sunday - stay safe and hope you can join us
Hi Ibrahim - as a UK Citizen we can only spend 90 days and then we can not return within 180 days - I am not sure if it is different for other nationalities ... We have checked the visa rules to be sure 😉🙌🤗
If I was you, I would have got the temporarily residents permit, then wait it out a bit more to see if you will be able to travel within Turkey. There is enough to see in Turkey to keep you busy for months. Europe is opening up, so most likely things will improve elsewhere. If it doesn't, then you can always pop over to Greece, where you can stay as long as you like. I'm pretty sure the rest of Europe will be open shortly as well, then head back to Turkey and continue on your world trip....even if it means next year.
Thank you for your message - it is good to hear advice and ideas and we are so grateful to everyone for taking the time to come up with suggestions xx best wishes Marianne xx 💐🤗
Take a look at the numbers as published by the WHO which I consider to be reliable and serious. United Kingdom - total deaths 36914 Turkey - total deaths 4369 Convert these numbers to the total population in the countries and to the rate per 1 million inhabitants and you will see: United Kingdom - 546.5 deaths per 1 million people Turkey - 52.5 deaths per 1 million people Stay in Turkey and apply for a temporary residence permit.
Yes Gerd the cases here in Turkey have been very low - they locked down about 8 - 10 days after the first reported case and the numbers showed their approach worked. The UK didn't take action so quickly. Turkey being of of the last countries had the hindsight of the others and did the right thing. We don't want to come back the the UK unless we have to. As travellers we want to travel and although we have been in the same carpark since the 11th March, we are still travelling and in our home - stay safe
What are your chances of getting to the UK crossing 9(?) borders, all with various states of lockdown, that may be reimposed in a second wave, with possible restrictions due to insurance, visas, etc?
hi Dale - we're not scared of driving through Russia - it was always the plan to drive across to Vladivostok. It's the situation , weather window and visas which may force us to delay our crossing. Stay safe
Marianne & Chris,,,,my advice come back to closer to the UK,, spend your time in southern spain& Portugal enjoy this year through winter,, you don't want to go further away every country could be problems it's sad but if your in southern Spain if anything happens ur a few days drive to the UK even a 20 hr drive back,,,, it's a hard one ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Rusty travels - Our MOT is valid for a year and runs out at the end of the year. The MOT is only valid in Europe and the road tax will also expire end of the year. When we arrive back in the UK we will drive straight to an appointment at a garage and get it MOT'd so no it doesnt affect us at the moment.
Okay, after hearing your options my advise if I may is for both of you to go back home ASAP, this pandemic is not going anywhere anytime soon, I know everyone is bored and frustrated but the world might be falling into a false sense of security here, better ride out the storm at home and stay safe, you can always pickup where you left off....
Thanks Oslin. Not sure when the borders will open and the situation globally changes by the day. As we live in our van we are in our 'home' and when we arrive back in the UK is hard to find somewhere to settle as the campsites are closed and wild camping is not allowed. We are planning to travel for as long as our health allows so if we don;t make it this year then it's not the end it's just on pause - stay safe
I would not put the decision in the hands of your viewers as you can’t win. You are on the ground and are best placed to judge the situation. Imagine we now have the second wave and its much worse than the first. Where do you want to take your chances?
Yes wise words - the fact is no one knows what the future holds. We do feel very safe here in Turkey and it seems right to consider waiting it out here. We'll have a good chat with everyone on the live chat and then say what we're doing - hope you can join us - stay safe
Given that residents are required (upon payment of something like the equivalent of £35 per person, IIRC) to sign up to the Turkish equivalent of the NHS, that would cover your Covid-19 care if you should, God forbid, need it. And your other health insurance would cover the rest. I remember your saying that if you returned to the UK, you'd have to stay with family and friends. If that is the case, then, honestly, if I were in your position, rather than assuming that the virus will remain under control for the remainder of the year, I'd hunker down somewhere in Turkey. Not in Istanbul, because in a place like that you'll be liable to higher risk than anywhere else in the country, but maybe a sleepy (and they're all sleepy right now) town or village on the Aegean coast, with some trees to provide shade. Maybe the northern Aegean coast rather than the usual fleshpots of the south, as otherwise you'll be unable to get any rest at night from the heat.
Great tips and this is great advice - we have found some information so we will be applying for temp residence and also the Medical insurance too !! Thank you for taking the time to give us such advice 🤗🙌🇹🇷
Thanks for the info Matthew. The tricky part is if we go into Georgia we won't be able to come back into Turkey for 6 months, unless we get another kind of Visa. If we cant get into Russia then we'll be stuck in Georgia for 6 months. Decisions Decisions - we'll come up with a plan during our live chat this Sunday evening. - Stay Safe
If you get temporary residency in Turkey that gives you the option of travelling to Georgia and Russia with the option of returning to Turkey if things don't go to plan. What a nightmare, planning around visa requirements is complicated enough but with the virus and countries reinstating border controls, your plans are even more complex. When I took a motorhome to Russia in 2014 we had planned to travel from Romania into Ukraine and then enter Russia from eastern Ukraine. Then the conflict between Russia and Ukraine started so we ended up turning back west and driving through Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, entering Russia on the M-9 highway from Latvia. Sadly not an option for you because as you pointed out who knows whic countries have imposed quarantines on foreign arrivals. Good luck with the trip and please visit Volgograd (Stalingrad) if you do travel up through Georgia. :) woollywanderers.wordpress.com/about/
Thank you guys - we will check it out - we will have to consider the weather too as if the borders do not open before August ... it might be a problem .... watch this space seems to be the phrase !! LOL xx
