Man I so miss my two whippies. They never did flyball but to watch them run full speed on a soccer field was breathtaking. My smaller one (Reddi) was clocked at 38 mph with a radar gun within 30’ of taking off from a dead start!

The first time I saw flyball was at Crufts in the early 90s. My husband and I a few years later joined a local team. We trained our rescue Border Collie to do flyball. I can't tell you how thrilling it was to watch her and my husband compete in tournaments. I was so happy that she could do it, and it brought her out of her shell

Wow - that was beautiful.....such a flowing graceful movement....mind you they are all stunning!!! I've just given my pit bull /lab mix Charlie (sprawled out in sleep) an encouraging shove with my foot.....he's seen this before....and what a jaundiced look I received when he saw it before....a 'better him than me' look. SUCH enthusiasm ! Yay for all Dogs!

If it wasn't for the slow motion shot later, you would think that the dog simply teleported through the obstacles, especially when it is coming back. It doesn't even seem to jump them at all! Perfect distance for its own natural stride.

Ah, yes. The whippet. A breed very similar to the greyhound. With the slender, strong body, the whippet is one of the fastest dogs. ( why am I acting so professional? That last sentence is probably wrong but oh well lol!) ✌️ ❤️ 🐶

That's Hustle from last years Flyball they were in the final but unfortunately Hustle wasn't fast enough so Extremely Salty won :)

He only ran 1 of the 8 legs of the 2 rounds so not sure how Extremely Salty won because of Hustle not being fast enough. He made up ground on his leg but too much to overcome. Team Extremely Salty had awesome dogs. Would like to see those last 2 dogs from each team, Hustle being one of them, run head to head. Wow they were fast.

because greyhounds may be fast but there to big and the course isnt long enough for them to get to high speeds lurchers are now the top dogs border whippets

What is the ABC rule for? And why were collies chosen to be the main players of the team? Instead of these super fast whippets?

Collies are fast and smart so they're really reliable whereas sighthounds are often harder to train to stay completely focused and aren't as consistent. So unfortunate, it would be great to see more whippets in flyball.

No. Australian cattle dog were bred for one thing, Whippets for another. There is no "close" and no comparison.

Brodha Sattva whippets are quite tall, usually you’d have the height dog who brings the jumps down a little for the rest of the team. i also heard there’s a limit to how many collies you can have per team, maybe its the same for whippets?

Not a dog person....will never get one and neither do i care about these dog-shows...but HOLY SHIT! That is one agile mutt right there...KUDOS! I didnt even see him come into frame on the first clip and lap until the camera panned back after him...Hussain Bolt of dogs....thats def some tendon-tearing speed!

I like border collies I think they are really smart but there is no way a border collie is faster than a whippet or greyhound. Just no. They are not built for speed like the whippet or greyhound.

Obviously its fast, If the whippet was entered in crufts. Greyhound would be the fastest if it was in crufts because its the second fastest land animal.
