If you‘re interested in another kart doing same speed within half of the distance. feel free to share. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wn4NooI0-5E.html
Couldn't squeeze in a 502 CI Big Block Chevy ? Start with engine, hang 4 wheels on block, chain drive from block to rear wheels, add very stout roll cage, add a seat, leave room for a pilot (cause this is going to fly)
0:02 What I've always wondered about kart racers is....when they drive a normal car, do they ever stomp on the clutch pedal when they intend to brake? :-)
No tach? Maybe it's just awkward to shift when you're fighting to keep it going in a straight line the whole time. I have the standard 2-wheel version of the CBR1000RR and I'm sure I'd struggle operating a controls setup like this.
Not only was he spinning (You can see it in the video), you also need to rev out those small engines to prevent them from bogging. This is all common for small NA engines.
He was literally banging it off the rev Lim Everytime he went to shift you add that with the spinning he will never see the full potential of that cart😂😂
Yes I totally agree with you SaS ! The headline reads "IS THIS THE FASTEST GOKART IN THE WORLD?! Well obviously it is not ! So we should all answer the question with a simple NO !!!
Guys take it easy on him, these things are already quick to rev and try it with these small tires! Its spinning and on the edge of breaking loose all the way thru the gears on these💪Agree he needs more practice though, but got to hand it to him holding that fast👍🏁
Most of these armchair racers haven’t been past what their economy car is governed to. Accelerating that fast on something so tiny is a huge challenge, he did about as well as anyone could hope to without a lot of training and thousands of dollars to replace parts as you wreck them from launching so damn hard.
@@AntichristPariticle I have had all kinds of karts and they are not like getting on a quad and just ripping👍Takes so driving and time in the seat no doubt💪
@@mildtowildrc7343 agreed I had a big bore kit cr500r on alcohol mounted to my kart and if you blinked you would miss a shift and unless you have piloted something like that its hard to fathom the acceleration and the butt kicking you take with no suspension! My brother n law had a nasty 07 zo6 at the time I let hime ride the kart once and he wouldn't even get out of 2nd gear it scared him so bad as it was solid mounted and that big 2 stroke would rattle your eyes something crazy and after his ride i could never get him to pull the vette up against it :)
Not even close. Way back in the late 60's I saw a turbine powered go-kart hit 220 mph plus at Willow Springs International Raceway. A few months later he did the same thing at Sebring International Raceway. The guy who owned the go-kart said he still had plenty of power left, just not enough track to do it on. His lap times at Sebring were faster than the formula one cars that were racing that day. I also saw a guy once that had a 1,000 cc Kawasaki engine on a go-kart. I think he was in the 180 plus range with that.
**IT'S IN A VERY POOR STATE OF TUNE** Painful to watch. "Here, let me demonstrate my inability to tune the engine correctly" Not like I want to watch and listen to that. . .
Karts tend to be traction limited at around 100hp. One reason you never see racing karts exceed that amount. Fastest kart is Jack mcclure’s hydrogen peroxide rocket powered one.
its a topspeed test so sureley being over the line would give you a disadvantage anyways? but still the shifts made me want to find the nearest cliff and jump
IF he could hook that engine to a modern, go-kart torque converter there would be no shifting and my GUESS is much faster time! The TQ operates on a triangular shape, which is basically infinite gear ratios.
He should edit this video and just have vision and sound of the cart sitting on the start line. The sound of the engine on idle is rather nice(sweet), but then it gets very disappointing when he shows us how much of a rotten driver he is, and how awful and annoying it sounds when it revs out. Especially those gear shifts !! We used to call it valve bouncing.
Gotta say I’m slightly underwhelmed. I mean I’m sure it’s much faster than it looks on video but I had my expectations unfairly too high. I was expecting this thing to be noticeably fast in the extreme
@@theshapeexists oh I’m sure. I raced Kart in my youth. It feels imminently faster than it looks. Your so close to the ground that every movement feels exaggerated. This just didn’t look to have the getoff that I was expecting is all. I’m sure that driving it would feel like it’s a rocket but just from the video, it didn’t look like the fastest in the world.
This is only straight line performance which doesn't amount much. Take that thing to a track and it won't match the speed of even 125cc. I have extensive experience of karting, both stock and unlimited class.
First it looks like a bike engine, so you can't expect to ride or drive it as a bike . You have to much power for the small wheels, so you have to shift gears faster to prevent to much wheel spin on to high rpm .The best is to practice and see at what rpm you get the best results to keep wheel spin to the lowest. That said is will depends on the track to . If you can find the right timing to shift gears, I think that car can reach 250
I gather a lot of people in the comments have driven a 170 hp go cart on that kind of track with 220 kmph. If "y'all" actually had a brain you could clearly see and figure out he was swerving all over the track BECAUSE IT'S A FUCKING GO CART and trying not to kill himself steering and gearing up at the same time. But again : you need a functioning 🧠 to figure that out.
If you hit the Rev limiter, you lose momentum, because the engine stops pulling. Sure, it sounds cool, but slows you down. You should shift at peak torque, not RPM’s. Ok, I’ll shut up now.
He could have done far better with larger tires, a good tune up job and lessons on how to shift. How fast did he go in the 1/4 mile? 90 miles per hour and 135 mph in a 1/2 mile. Maybe he's just warming up.
These guys talking about shifting meanwhile the guy is going 170mph with only a piece of sheet metal separating his ass from the fuckin pavement. And he is DEFINITELY spinning on those 6 inch tires up to at least 3rd gear
135 mph isn't superfast for 1/2 mile. That would be a good 1/4 mile time for that sort of vehicle. It sounds like a 4 speed and they needed to get in top gear sooner. It still hadn't wound out in top gear. Put a torque converter on it
European krap ! his shifting mechanism either does not work--don`t post while in development stage~ get some real tires--totally wrong compound height n width
I don’t think you’re accounting for all the differences driving a small go kart with that much power and small tires. What I noticed was there’s so much power laying down that really all he can do is steering and acceleration and adjust because that go kart was twitchy. It looks to me like he had to pull back adjust and then accelerate again so that he would continue going straight.
number 1 terrible driver number 2 not even close i've seen a country mf who just tinkers in his shop all day with no professional parts make one go 135 mph
That is not the fastest go-cart. Not even close. I drove a 140 mph (@245kph) with a RM 250cc Suzuki. Fastest thing I've driven 2 inches off the ground.
driving this on the street is crazy, he could die every time he tries this, needs to go to the track. I would think more fun & satisfaction beating someone who's as fast as you.
