47 mins adventuring in the Lake District - fantastic! Thanks for getting out and doing the hard slog for those of us who will never be able to get there.
Excellent video with stunning stunning views...a superb pitch to camp..why oh why do people still go out on the mountains so badly prepared...Many thanks for a great video, best wishes
You have my admiration doing scarfell with your heavy wild camping pack I've just done it from langdale was 15 miles 9hrs and 4000 ft of climb I was absolutely knackered not bad for a 72 year old those boulder fields are a nightmare Carry on camping
Fabulous vid Andy as always, nothing put a pleasure to watch and learn from. Only this weekend I was in the Lakes on a camp and I went up Taylor Gill Force after seeing you recommend that route on a recent vid and enjoyed it. Thank you for taking us all along with you and being a true ambassador for the mountains. 👍
thanks michael it is a nice route up that way aint it a nice easy scramble & you get to see the waterfall in its glory..much better than the slog up from stockley bridge.
Another cracker Andy. Fabulous weather. I did the exact same route last summer but in reverse as a day walk. I was knackered! I do love the corridor route......an old favourite. I really want to do that walk up the side of Piers Gill. Can't wait to get back up there after watching your post. Many thanks.
you probably know that area better than anyone pal spent some time up there you have..always great to get that weather like that in the mountains it makes it a real pleasure..we'll have to get another in up there pal get into them mountains..tfw pal.
Another stonking video Andrew. You're liking this part of the lakes at the minute. Still think your camp of last week was the better of the 2 pitches though. Just on another thought. I hope you're not putting boiling water onto your coffee bag. A big no no, it scalds the coffee it's best lettingvit come from off the boil by 2 to 3 mins then pouring. It makes a much better brew and you get more taste n flavour. Anyways that's the end of my tosh fo t'neet.. keep posting lad. Thanks Andrew
It's a great ascent up Grains Ghyll / Ruddy Ghyll. The stunning views up there help make up for the slog. Loads of spots to take a breather and soak up the views on the way.
Cracking camp Andy, it’s good hike up to there, and views along the way just keep getting better👌, I was up Mickledore and west wall traverse in the snow earlier in year, it’s an amazing area, your pitch was a class spot with that view, spot on mate, love it, atb Mick 👍
Cracker Andy, Vans and a t -shirt, I was up Ben Lawer in the trossachs couple of years ago and a guy passed me wearing a football top and had a pair of Doc Martens on, no pack etc, no wonder people get in trouble. Keep up the good work mate.
Great video as always Andy, got to get back up there is better weather, always clagged. Hoping for a good window and come up from Eskdale , TFS David 👍
Absolute belter Andy, it's all about the views and getting out to these beautiful parts of the country safe with correct gear.. Cheers mate 👊👍🥃 "Vans and a Cotton T-shirt" 😂😂
Regarding them three lads Andrew there's always one isn't there, you were rewarded with them stunning views for the effort you put in getting up there.
Very special Andy. Not sure it's the BEST ...there's SO many...but it for sure helps when you get those awesome evenings. Loved Ill Crag for a camp. Broad Tarn and Great End still on my list....keep it up mate. Loved it.
you're right there John there's so many fantastic views in the lakes..there's a great grassy ledge on the west side of great end with fantastic views over ennerdale..
Great video Andy . Really enjoyed that one. Stunning location and what a pitch 👌 superb. Aye certainly is frightening and frustrating what someone folk will wear in the hills . Cotton t shirt and trainers. 😬
cheers steve ayy cracking spot that ill be back there for sure..does frustrate me when i see folk haeading into the mountains wearing clobber like that..
@@AndrewBeavers Yep I know exactly what you mean. Scary thing is some get away with it once and think it's OK. As you know weather int mountains can change in an instance. You can't underestimate the importance of having the right kit and knowledge and skills to use it. 👍
Wonderful video again Andy, what a trip. Thanks for sharing your day and evening with us, you certainly struck gold wi the weather. As for those lads you were talking about in the jeans and trainers, as a fella at our work always says, "There is no educating pork" Haha
Great video Andy as usual, Bivied at Broad crag tarn on the late Queens diamond jubilee in 2012 , they were lighting beacons in various places around the UK including Scafell pike at midnight, it was lit by the former glamour model Nell McAndrew. There is a couple of grassy area's to get a tent in or a Bivi.
A grand trip Andy. I didn't realise Scafell Pike could be so serene, you were very fortunate. When you paused to show the view between Broad Crag and SP at 16:00, that was the route I did to SP many years ago, via Little Narrowcove at the top of Eskdale. It must be a little known route because I rarely see folk making reference to it. My companions at the time had a thing for doing weird routes 🤔. One I haven't done is Scafell and I've been looking at the map considering the various route options. Saying that, I have so many plans in my head and just wish I had all the time in the world to do them. Anyway, I'm waffling......cheers for a tremendous film pal.
very rare you get it like that on the mountain tops chris have to make the most of it..scafell is one im gonna do again & camp it ill do the cam spout route again & fox gully its a cracking route id recommend that for you to do..tfw pal..
I went up the path via the scree bank you mention (@ 39:25mins) up to Broad Crag last March, on my way to a camp on Great End. It's Great fun. If you do it, you are better keeping to the right hand side as on the left it is very difficult under foot. This camp was when I shot the drone footage of Piers Gill on my channel. Take care mate.
Hi Andy, absolutely fantastic video!!! I've watched it twice now :) I finished my Wainwrights a few years ago and loved Mickledore at Sunset. May I ask what water purification system you use at 11:50? It looks like a filter and soft bottle... I normally just drink straight from such high streams after checking for rubbish, carcasses, etc, and luckily have never had any problems. However, I think it's much wiser to get a system like yours. Also, any chance you can let me know your mates Mountain Leader company's name? I'm doing my ML course in a few weeks and it would be great to know the name of a good company. Thanks and keep on with the videos. They are appreciated. All the best, Judd :)
heading into summer ill always carry a midge net but then carry some smidge spray too..i try to hold off with that though as when you spray it on it can be a bit greasy & sticky..
haha i get pestered a lot by a good friend of mine to do my ML assessment..he's a ML & runs his own mountain guide company but im in it for my enjoyment..
Another cracker Andy. Got some plans for that area in summer. Got a challenging multi day one planned. Definitely some great views around there. Could do several camps in the same area and all be very different. Enjoyed that one as always mate. Take it easy. Craig
