In this episode of our Cities Skylines 2 series, we dive back into the chaotic streets of Triangle City. The city is growing fast, but with more triangles comes more problems! We start by tackling some traffic issues at key intersections, trying to get the flow just right. We’ve got an expanding industrial zone that’s desperately needed to meet demand, but it’s also leading to more congestion. Watch as I attempt to expand the city without breaking the entire road network while still keeping everything in the classic triangle layout.
As we move further into Cities Skylines 2, Triangle City is starting to show its true colors with its quirky road designs and unexpected traffic nightmares. I find myself struggling with lane management and trying to keep things smooth, but let’s be honest, it’s getting wilder by the minute. In today’s build, we add a new section of industrial roads, carefully aligning them to keep the triangular pattern intact. The game’s snapping tools don’t always cooperate, but I manage to pull off a surprisingly clean expansion-at least, until the traffic decides to go rogue.
One of the highlights of this Cities Skylines 2 episode is our attempt to balance growth with keeping the city functional. We’re dealing with some strange glitches, bizarre intersections, and a few unexpected crashes that nearly derail everything. Triangle City isn’t just about building more triangles; it’s about finding that sweet spot between creativity and chaos. I also experiment with some new roundabout designs, but it’s clear the city’s traffic woes are far from solved.
Speaking of roundabouts, we revisit one of the busiest intersections in Triangle City, tweaking the lanes to see if we can reduce the gridlock. I have to say, Cities Skylines 2 really tests your patience when it comes to managing these massive intersections. The game’s traffic AI doesn’t always make sense, but that’s half the fun. As the city grows, more and more of these crazy 12-lane intersections start popping up, and it’s a constant challenge to keep things moving without the entire city coming to a halt.
We’re also expanding Triangle City’s residential areas today, introducing new mixed-density housing zones. As always, the goal is to cram as many triangles into the layout as possible while still making the city livable. Cities Skylines 2 does a great job at simulating the complexity of urban planning, but Triangle City takes it to another level with its unconventional road designs. Whether this build is genius or madness, I’ll leave that up to you to decide.
Another challenge in this Cities Skylines 2 episode is managing the city’s services. With more citizens moving in, we’re seeing some real issues crop up, like garbage collection and healthcare shortages. I explore new options like adding a massive hospital to try and keep everyone happy, but the upkeep costs are starting to pile up. It’s all part of the balancing act in managing a growing triangular city, and honestly, it’s becoming a bit of a juggling act at this point.
Throughout this video, I continue to test the limits of Cities Skylines 2 by pushing Triangle City’s population even higher. We’re aiming to hit some new milestones, but every expansion brings new headaches. I also play around with different zoning strategies to see if we can boost the city’s efficiency, but the real star of the show remains the bizarre road network that’s holding everything together-just barely. We’re building more triangles, more intersections, and more opportunities for things to go hilariously wrong.
As always, Triangle City is a work in progress, and today’s episode shows just how unpredictable things can get in Cities Skylines 2. From surprise bottlenecks to unexpected city-wide slowdowns, there’s never a dull moment here. We’re also making some tough decisions on whether to upgrade roads or leave them be. Sometimes adding more lanes solves problems; other times it just makes things worse. That’s part of the charm when dealing with a city that’s literally built on triangles.
Near the end of the video, we attempt one final experiment to improve traffic flow using new road configurations and pedestrian paths. Whether it’s more roundabouts, overpasses, or lane adjustments, nothing seems to completely solve the congestion, but we’re making progress. Cities Skylines 2 really shines in these moments of trial and error, where you’re never quite sure if what you’re doing is going to help or hurt your city.
