I have one, for about two yrs. I love it and have gotten a lot of use out of it. Right now my tire has a slow leak so I fill it every 4-5 days. So convenient to not have to go to a gas station and do it. I've jumped my friend's car, used it to blow up balloons for a birthday, bike tires, footballs. Blow up an air mattress. Tons of applications

Great review and very thorough. It looks like they came out with a new model, Jstar 6 which slighly smaller and slightly lower specifications. I will most likey buy the Jstar 6. Your review was perfect and explained things very well and I love how you showed how much of the battery was used for certain functions. Take care and god save the queen

Got one and have used the charger and air compressor. Great quality and can get you out of a jam. Worth the money and easy to use. Price is fair.

The battery on these is advertised as 27,000mah. For that not to fully charge your laptop suggests they’re overstating the capacity. Sent my unit back after it got 3 out of 4 tyres from about 40 to 65psi, but fully depleted, then after a charge I tried the 4th. The compressor made a rattling noise and then broke, let out out all my air. Problem with multi use devices, if one bit breaks…

Hi, not sure where they are advertised as 27000 mah, do they say what voltage this is at? On the Utrai site here - www.utrai.co.uk/products/j-star-5 they are advertised as 59.2 Wh which at 14.8v (the voltage of the battery) equals 4000 mAh. Sad to hear your experience, thankfully ours is still working well, after regular use over the last 2.5 years.

Excellent review and great device and i am going to buy one - maybe it would be a good idea if you mentioned the price at the start as it is great value but often i dont watch through long reviews because i sense that the product is going to be very expensive and beyond my pocket.

Thanks! That’s great feedback, I never thought of that. I’m always a bit cautious with quoting prices as they can often go up and down especially when importing, but giving the current price at the beginning would be helpful especially with this as I do think it’s good value for the price and I probably should have shouted about that at the start! 👍

@@ExploreVanUK Maybe its just us who r on a low budget but when i watch through something like a long PowerOak vid and at the end find that its way beyond me, then i am put off watching other reviews esp when at the start it looks like an amazing piece of kit that will be a grand or so! Anyway, we watch all your vids, so keep up the great work!

Makes sense. Hopefully you won’t find a video like that on here. If I don’t think it’s worth the money I wouldn’t want to show it. I’d totally agree things like PowerOak / Jackery I’d struggle to endorse as I’d never stump up that kind of money for them. When there are more economical ways to get a better solution. When Lithium Leisure Battery solutions hit that sensible price point, as I am sure they will, I plan to check them out.

When it comes to keeping the vehicle battery charged, especially in periods of inactivity, have you any recommendations which can be added to a van build. Our van will be used predominantly with mains hook up both at home and onsite, but we have suffered a flat battery in the recent cold weather. Much is written about how to keep the habitation battery charged but little in the way of taking care of the vehicle battery. Thanks Jim

Hi Jim, Yes we fitted a dual direction Voltage sensative relay (VSR) this means that the leisure battery is charged when driving once the starter battery is charged like normal but also when not driving the starter battery is charged by the mains charger or solar once the leisure battery is full.

@@jimbyrne9643 👍 this is the one we went for. There are marginally cheaper ones but everyone seems to speak highly of these. amzn.to/3Kkfp9C

FYI I asked this of Utria via their website email form I'm trying to decide between the jstar 5 vs jstar 6. I read the differences in the specifications and that the jstar 5 is slightly more powerful. Is the jstar 6 smaller in size? It looks so. Are there any other differences? Do you have a comparison chart? Is the jstar 6 a new model? I'm leaning to the Jstar 6 as it appears smaller and may fit in glove compartment Here is their answer Hello, The size of Jstar 5 is 201*153.5*77mm(L*W*H). The size of Jstar 6 is 212*162*70mm(L*W*H). So Jstar 6 is not smaller than Jstar 5. And I am not [sure if] both of them can fit in your glove compartment. The air hose of Jstar 6 is separate from the unit. While the air hose of Jstar is not. And Jstar 5 is more powerful than Jstar 6. Hope this helps. Have a great day! Best regards, UTRAI Company

Thanks for taking the time to ask and update here! That is really useful information for all - if I needed to replace the Jstar. 5 and couldn't get one I wouldn't hesitate to go with a Jstar 6 - I genuinely wouldn't be with out one now.

Looks a really interesting product. It doesn't seem to be available on Banggood anymore. Is yours still going strong? Some available on eBay, but no warranty so I'm not sure whether to take the risk.

Oh No! it looks like they have sold out in the EU warehouse. It’s still going strong with zero problems and we use it regularly. Personally I’d go for one where ever I could get it as I would struggle to be without it now I’ve been spoilt! I’ve never looked at any alternatives so there may be some around.

Is the YABER YA30 the same device as the device you reviewed? They look very similar ...
