Just ordered a JPX 923 Forged set today 5-GW with light steel shafts Nippon Steel 950 Neo. I'm 67 years old so the choice of shafts from Mizuno was very encouraging. The looks are gorgeous and feels great when you hit it in the centre of the club face. Good video. Cheers.
Can’t fault this iron. I tested it, from the top it felt and looked exactly like my JPX 900 forged. Eventually went with Cobra forged tec for my upgrade purely for a change,
I agree after testing most mid-low hc irons over the past 4 months. I just ordered Weak 1*. I hope I got it right. They feel really good, maybe not the best out there but close. The thing I also liked is, dont have to blend and deal with chaning lofts through out the set. Yes, the spin rate is great for stopping. My runner up was ZX7-5 blend.
I bought the 921 Hot Metal irons last year and love the look, feel and sound. I still remember Joel's eagle at TPC Scottsdale while playing with Shiels and Finchy.
Couldn't agree more 👌. The consistency has been reported by almost all tests- a really important point. Regarding value: You get to choose from a very wide variety of shafts at no upcharge, so there is quite some value in that as well to take into account! Getting fit to exactly the right shaft can make a big difference - here it's just included. 🤘 For me, my talent (or lack thereof) fit me into 923 HMP (also ordered before the launch of Forged). I am falling deeper and deeper in love with them the more I use them. I am sure the same will apply for the future lucky owners of 923 Forged ... 😍
I happily own the 921 Forged in 4-9 irons. They feel great despite the 8-9 irons being 1025E and the 4-7 being Chromoly. The short irons feel super soft and mushy feeling while the 4-7 feel a tad springier and faster. I will say, all around, the soles of the new 923 Forged are actually slightly thicker than the 921 Forged. I will admit I wish my 4-5 irons had a slightly wider sole to help me get a higher launch.
Still hitting my JPX 900 Forged. Can’t pull the trigger yet on the latest model. Wouldn’t mind the extra distance and height, just like the feel of mine, especially in the sweet spot.
Very Nice Clubs think for Mid to Low Handicap this is a great Solution. For Mid To High Handicap I would recommend JPX 923 HL. Get More distant and forgiveness and gets the ball up quickly.. Like the spin control you get with it since I am 15 Handicap and over 50 Years Old.
Got fitted at a Mizuno Demo day this past weekend and couldn't agree more. The sound and feel off the face is incredible. What was even better was the top shaft choices that came from using their fitting club system that matches the shaft with your transition tempo and face angle at impact. Was surprised that the top 3 were in the 118-120 gram range, but when I got the exact right one (Dynamic Gold DG120 S300), the ball went straight with an impressive flight each time. Even if I felt I rushed the downswing, it was close to perfect for me. Now just need to save some money to get some. The only iron I have hit that is close to this is the Srixon ZX5.
I mentioned on one of your live equipment Q&A's that I'm getting a full bag fitting for my 40th.....well that day was yesterday and ive ordered JPX 923 forged with steelfibre i110 shafts. (Tour issue golf here in the uk)
I brought the 923 hot metals and love them, I'm just trying to work out distances and get myself swinging more consistent with them, but then again it's abit cold wet and windy at the range today( has top traced) so probably not the best time to figure it out
I bought the mizuno HMP 921’s during covid and loved them. Started playing more golf/breaking 80 and went with the i525 pings because I’m a fan of the g425, figured I would try brand loyalty… Albeit a nice iron it was too clicky and when I pured it wow… rocket ship that goes haaaard. Called and got refitted into the Jpx 923 forged with KBS 120 stiff shafts. They are a better feeling/sounding iron than the i525s because technology over feel with ping so it’s definitely a preference. Once you hit a mizuno it’s hard to stray from the brand! But if you’re looking for a bit more workability and want a step up from the HMP’s the Forged 923 are the clubs. I525’s are also nice but I had a lighter shaft and the ball was launching way too high so I did really give them a proper chance but i made the correct decision.
Good looking irons but have a hard time seeing spending 1200.00 on 8 irons when I play tommy armour 845s that I bought at a garage sale 10 years ago for 20 bucks and hit the 6 iron which is 31* 170 yards. Oh, their in good condition also.
Do you feel it’s still the perfect iron for a slower swing speed player? I hit a 7i 140 carry at about 78 mi/hr. And am a 8 handicap. Like the iron but not sure if I would get the same distance. Thoughts? Thx, Ric
Will you please do a video comparing forged vs cast grooves for durability? I buy cast clubs because my clubs have to last since I cannot afford to buy new ones every year and I don’t play enough to wear out the grooves.

I had a fitting, and this came out on top. At least according to the fitter. I think they flew too low, didn’t spin enough, and the land angle was too low. I don’t think I swing fast enough to get everything out of them. I’m looking for a forgiving iron with more loft. ⛳️🏌🏽♂️
