Shizunami Surf Stadium is a state of the art Wavepool located just two hours from Tokyo on a bullet train. This pool is Japan's only surfing wave pool in existence, even though that will be sure to change in the coming years.
i had the small scale mock up that American Wave Machines (who make this wave pool) in my warehouse for a while as I was shipping it to their tradeshows. it was a full working model about the size of a pool table. super cool to see it in action. The wave looks super fun to surf - jealous.
Perfect wave IF you’re 4’ foot tall and like rides that are 5 seconds long. Those designers were thinking “micro-size” in every way possible. Better than nothing I suppose.
I'm sure that it's very cold there for them to be wearing such thick full wet suits but it looks like it's a normal 80-degree day over there like we have here in orange county because it's so sunny and clear without a storm cloud in sight. What a blast that must be to ride waves like that whenever you want. They need to start making those things a tad smaller for people to build them in their backyards. I would buy one immediately and have wave riding parties at my place every day.
Blair Conklins rise to Superstardom has been so astounding, one begs the question, Who Is Blair? He uses words like "sick" and "slab" "perfectly Offshore " as any psyched surfer would...Blinding us from the obvious extraterrestrial abilities we would all see, if only we really chose to look.
For the amount of money it cost to build that freezing pool of small short waves, they could have gone to the tropics, thrown a few boulders in the ocean and created a dream point where the waves are warm and overhead every day and night - without having to burn a bunch of fuel or build a nuclear power plant.
@@SS-pc6dg should live where i do. Slab reefs that a little, below 2 ft Hawaiian, day is rare. Usually 4 ft Hawaiian and above. Or does santa cruz have a cool wave machine?
lil baby "yewws"... Someday, they'll make a full stand-up barrel fake wave with better than a couple turns/tricks, and then wave pools will still suck compared to the ocean.
lol what would be awesome IS IF THEY STARTED PUTTING WAVE POOLS CLOSER TO HOME AND NOT INNTHE MOST FAR OFF places. Like here we’ve been supposed to get a wave garden 30 minutes south in Myrtle Beach for years and it’s just one thing after another lol smh.
