Is this the rarest electric car in the world?

We road test one of the rarest classic cars, a Gordon Keeble, on a trip to a Cold War submarine tracking station. This started out as a rally modified car with non-standard engine and roll-cage, we removed the old American V8 muscle and replaced it with some 21st century American muscle, Tesla power.

It’s a nice job but slightly sacrilege on such a rare old car. The interior is nice but I don’t like the integration of the modern Bluetooth infotainment/reversing cam system. It would look nicer concealed behind a period looking speaker grille or cubby hole that could be slid or flipped out of the way when the owner wanted to use the system. I think there are at least 2 more of those WW2 radio transmitter buildings in the Breiddens/Criggion area where your machinist is located?

Juxtapose that with doing an EV conversion on a Ferrari and everyone looses their minds. So funny.

I was wondering about adding regenerative electric to the rear subframe of a Honda Jazz and keeping everything else the same for simplicity and long range and also to drive the aircon and the power steering & brakes. I think you would want something small and cheap that just regenerates the energy from city stop/starting rather than Tesla performance. I thought that the new electric Citroen Ami motor might do for that, but maybe 8hp & 5.5KWh is not enough? Looking at the rear suspensions of Honda Jazzes, the earlier Mk1 (2005-2008) would be easier to do than the Mk2 from 2009, because the Mk2 had the coil springs moved rearwards along the suspension arm to be aligned with the hub, which would interfere with driveshafts. Don't know about later versions.

In the 1970's the Scimitar was a quick car, the Middlebridge models used the more powerful 2.9 injected engine. I agree though they would make an interesting EV, but economically it would need to be a labour of love.

I confess I was slightly offended when you compared the Gordon Keeble with a Shelby Cobra. The original Cobra was an obsolete AC chassis fitted with a rather nice Ford 260/289 V8. The later 427 Cobra had an improved chassis that was hamstrung by the weight of a 7 liter Ford 427 V8. Both Cobras were amazing but compromised cars to drive. The Gordon Keeble was a much more well balanced car with a chassis that was probably better designed than the later Cobra's chassis but fitted with a lighter 327 Chevy V8. I would argue that the Gordon Keeble was a superior car to Aston Martin's DB4/DB5/DB6. Pity Eon Productions didn't get a hold of one for Goldfinger.
