@@SC-cx9ti havent played in like 2 yearts but probably same issues from then, its a base 50 area with alot of the abilities made for the area, tiered up to higher lvls or for abilities not around anymore (this is a 1.x dungeon). new classes dont get necessary abilities that low. the dungeon itself incentives and made for long pulls (4+ waves then aoe down) and a bot auto healing will either A not heal when needed correctly or more likely not have a quality heal for the area, making the dungeon slower, longer and not enjoyable. also even when pulling correctly its a 30ish minute dungeon so with multiple deaths can be hour+
@@thed4rknss673 first pull can lead to some groups wiping, but its fun that finally something can result in a wipe. Dungeons are often trivial. As for mechanics I remember the bird one being weird. We usually make it through anyway. I feel like its completely fine
@@danielgold9487 i did pharos recently and it was at most 20 minutes. Then again I was healing and my friend was tanking. We might have died once I remember it being a generally good experience.
Happened to me once too. You can get them to leave by luring them into the entrance by walking circles close to it. Bot will just leave "thinking" the dungeon is finished. Then just wait for a new one.
Question: At that point, wouldn't it just be more optimal to vote kick instead? 😅 Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, I genuinely just don't understand why 🥹
@@AyakoHideko to be able to vote kick someone, you need to wait 5 minutes in the instance. If you manage to catch a bot from the get-go, easier to scam them into leaving themselves.
In the words of a wise dragon "All right, that's it! Dishonor! Dishonor on their whole family. Make a note of this. Dishonor on them, dishonor on their cow..."
D; Nooooo! Thou hath called Dishonor upon the Enix of Square and the Dev team of FFXIV! Thou hath called Dishonor upon Eos and Selene! No more heals for thee!
For some dungeons maybe but definitely not that one. As a healer main I could see doing that in some super easy places just so you don't have to sit through them because your doin daily stuff
The best part is if you recall/return to the entrance, the bot walks to the entrance. But it doesnt walk like a normal player when youre too far to follow. It centers itself exactly in the center of the walkway, no cutting corners to get to the tank that recalled. Thats how we confirmed our bot healer in a stormblood msq dungeon.
Thankfully, I run Paladin, so I get some heals for myself and Defense Buffs every so often it's a lifesaver, and I can give some hp shield as well. This's proper at level 56, so late into Heavensward MSQ or past it will be fine on giving some defense to my allies.
My general rule for healing in FFXIV. If Tank is dead and Healer still has mana, generally Healer's fault. If Tank is dead and Healer is out of mana, generally Tank's fault. There are exceptions of course, but that's a good rule of thumb.
@@GaMEChldIf the tank is dead and the healer is out of magic it's probably on the DPS. As a primary damage dealer, having to make up for the other guy spamming the 1 is awful. As the occasional tanker having two bad DPS is almost impossible to overcome.

@@BlueStreakStudio no one is demanding they don't heal though healer's kits in ffxiv have been lobotomised to the point where they all play very similarly, and if you're not trying to do damage while healing (with abilities), you're either ignorant or just lazy. reminder that lvl90 dungeons nowadays can be comfortably done without a healer. its easy and safe.
Way back when bot programs were not so complex in FFXIV you use to be able to invite them to parties and send them to dungeons until the timer expired. I’d swap to tank, find 3 bots to invite, start up a dungeon then leave. Back then the bots either tried to do the dungeon or simply stood still as that wasn’t in the programming. Now they teleport, refuse any interaction or stay under the map…
I let the photo camera radom roam. I look at cool glams. I find bots off the map then go into the player list for the area report and blacklist the bot. Most are untargetable. I wish the GMs would pop up every now and again just to make the bots run away. With the story skips the gil sellers are in higher content and more spread out.
I once had a healer who blamed me for dying at the first mob of that one temple dungeon (forgot the name of it). He kept on saying to put my mits up… even though I had to literally had them all up to last even ten seconds before the enemies killed me! He was cursing and losing his mind before finally rage quitting on us, so I was talking with the other members to see what was going on. They had no idea either, since my gear was good and I was doing everything right. Then we got a new healer… and we had no problem clearing the dungeon after that. Not even a single death. Turns out, that first healer did not even know how to heal properly! The entire group just laughed out asses off after realizing that! It just goes to show you, even with a community that is as great as 14’s is, even having won awards, there will always be bad eggs.
People always misunderstood that, the game won best community support not best community, best community support is for the devs of how they support the community and not the other way around, people don't read the last word and they just says best community
@@john_7000 Very true. The report system could be a LOT better too, though I understand how easy it would be to be abused. The only way to report someone is if they are trying to sell you gil, and to do anything else (like if they are harassing you) is by opening up a ticket with support, record the person’s name and server, and explain what happened. It seems like a very awkward way to report people like that, even if it so rarely happens to me (so far, only one person in the years I’ve been playing the game has made me go that far).
I remember a "Tank" saying they wouldn't turn on their stance and he was the one in charge. I then told him the design team intentionally has tank DPS be around 60% of a DPS, and healers generate 1.5x aggro for every point of HP that gets healed over maximum, and he was admitting to intentionally griefing by choosing to make this difficult by not utilizing a core system in grouped content. Healer near instantly pulled aggro after applying regen and AoE healing because, we the two DPS, had instantly pulled aggro with our AoEs, healer survived first pull, tank begins raging. Leaves, we all report him and laugh it off as a new tank joins and we clear. Was teleported over by Gubal Library entrance by a GM, interviewing me about what went on. Then got sent back to where I was in Idyllshire.
@@Doku71 Wait, you actually talked to a GM about it? That’s the first time I’ve ever heard of that happening! That player just have had several more reports before your group’s about him, and yours were the last straw. Also… he really wouldn’t turn on stance!? That’s the whole reason it even exists, to ensure the Tank aggros things!
i had a bot once... we noticed very quickly. But this bot would just RUN the dungeon (and assume other members would also run as well, like a normal party does). NOPE, we just sat down and watched'm die a bunch of times until the kicktimer was up.
Yeah it seems like most bots actually run tanks. I assume it's because kick votes can't be started during combat so they just program them to always move to the next pull in the hope that people won't have time to start a kick vote
Ive encounterd bots often.. some are good and some are just terrible. Many times you arnt sure untill the last fight though and sinds they dont chat its hard to even report if you want to. Also had a tank bit bot in my party once.. they just run into combat over and over and we kept failing so the rest of us stopped and chatted for a bit and it just kept running in, dieing. Respawning if the healer isn't close and repeat.
My favorite bot was a dps that would somehow skip the cutscenes on Prae and continually run into boss fights and die over and over again while the rest of us were still in cs
@@ericmoll1530 I know about that, but this guy was 100% botting in gameplay, and when it came to CS he was getting out of cutscenes literal seconds after they started. Way sooner than anyone DCing and reconnecting
Oh, I actually have something similar that I believe still works in Prae. I didn't skip any cutscenes but for some reason the japanese voices language option on the cutscene before the fight with Gaius is way shorter than english, meaning as someone who plays on an english data center, I would pop out of the cutscene into the fight like 20 seconds before everyone else. Even managed to start fighting him and died on my own before the rest of the party arrives XD
As a relatively new healer (Tank main personally) I get so scared when I enter a dungeon I haven't done in forever, it when I enter one that's known for being doodoo water. I'm always scared I'm gonna mess up or miss a heal and cause a team wipe. Seeing this made me realize I'm good at my job
That reminds me of the bot healer I encountered in Aurum Vale, but this one was worse in that it would just keep running forward as soon as it respawned and pulling EVERY mob in the first room, no healing no other action, just run in, pull, die, run in, pull, die, etc
I remember bot healers in WoW. I remember doing a lfg raid with my friend. He was a tank and i was a warlock. 2 of the healers were bots. A few of us were complaining and were asking to vote kick them but we couldnt get the vote to pass. We eventually wipped on an encounter. Instead of blaming the bot healers i was kicked out to a vote. I was 4rth highest dps but in the groups eyes i was throwing because warlocks should be top dps. Jokes on them cause my tank friend left after saying you wont kick the 2 heal bots or the guy in bottom dps but you will kick my friend for a crappy reason? Havnt raided in WoW since
Reminds me of when i tried seriously raiding in WoD on my elesham. I would consistently be one of the longest people alive because i was doing mechanics correctly but because Blizzard can't balance classes for shit, i'd be constantly kicked for low DPS. Heck, i even started receiving hate mail mocking me for getting kicked and that i should be playing "A real DPS like Mage". And that's why i'll never go back to WoW :/
@@TheJamieellis it’s a shame that mentality is leaking into good mmos like ff14. “There no exploration, screw anyone who just wants to have casual fun and loot some items for mogs” and “what? @@TheJamieellis During Wrath of the Lich King, I did PvE content as an Arms specced Warrior because I simply didn't enjoy playing as Fury. This, however, meant I was _always_ bottom on the DPS list. Could be worse. I was an enhancement shaman that my guild force me to cast spells at range. They hated me cause my ranged damage was so low. Pubbed in to help my friends guild due to one of their regulars being late a few days later. Top of dps being melee enhancement lol.
@@toxiclunchyea that shit is cringe in 14, cause there really isn’t any class optimization unless you are literally doing ultimate speed runs or some shit. As long as you know your rotation, the fight you’re doing, and have decent gear with material you will do just fine.
Ah, yes, I met one of those. In wanderers palace. They didn't even have a job stone. We tried getting them to do anything, and nothing. We had to kick them before gobbue boss
Haven’t had that yet. Worst I’ve had was one that only wanted to cast glare and when called out said I needed to pop defensives while I still had one up. Honestly it’s the reason I main warrior for roulettes now.
This explains a very similar situation I had in a dungeon today, I commented the same thing to my friend saying it was "like everything was always on cooldown for the white mage"
I've run into the occasional bot while doing roulettes, and what gets me isn't the fact they're using a bot, but moreso the fact they're able to set one up in the first place and just.... did a crap job at programming one. I dunno, I just find it hilarious that in a game about pushing buttons in sequence, they messed up programming the exact right sequence of pushing buttons.
My favorite encounter with someone who was botting in Paglthan I think it's called? right when it came out, the player was using follow and doing just as Jesse is describing, getting hit by all the aoes and not doing mechanics for the first boss. The tank asked if they were there and suddenly they got off follow, yelled at all 3 of us claiming they were blacklisting us, then demanded we kick them. We refused, and he had to leave and take the penalty. If you are botting to play a game why even play it??
Apparently pushing buttons is too hard for able-bodied people. They logged in, you can't seriously ask for more in a game made for babies! That would be toxic, to play the game they paid for.
I had a bot tank once. It would refuse to pull bosses unless everyone was passed that purple line, even if everyone was saying they were ready. Also, it would only do one attack, the AOE.
Just to play devil's advocate for waiting until people are past the line, it does make sense to do that. I question anyone that thinks they're ready while also standing in a place that will get them locked out of the room XD
Bots that run dungeons… reminds me like a decade ago I was learning how to run Healer Druid in WoW, and got slotted in a party with 3 mages all using wands. The player was boting them to copy the lead’s actions, but it was an easy dungeon so tank and I just rolled with it lol.
Nothing says "lethargic behavior" (according to reportable players) like an obvious bot, but if the other two in the party were up for it I'd take a break from FF14 and play a quick hour or so of seeing how you could waste the botter's time before they noticed.
The problem I see with that is, if he comes back and sees you're just goofing around and haven't completed the dungeon yet, he can report you. You could get in some trouble, then, because you are technically guilty of what he's accusing you of. It's better to use the in-game tools for dealing with this sort of situation. Report him, or vote-kick him. The you'll be completely in the right, and the botter won't have the satisfaction of taking you down with him.
@@biffwellington6144 Reports in FF14 actually get investigated, and they would have checked how long they were in there. Also, funny little detail... they can easily tell who is modding their game, but they don't act unless you get reported for cheating specifically. A botter wouldn't _dare_ touch the report button for fear of getting caught.
@@biffwellington6144 The only problem is that reporting someone in 14 is an actual chore. You can't just report them through the party menu, because the only option there is RMY, and reporting for that when it isn't true can get YOU in trouble. You have to manually fill out the worlds worst report tool, including their server and time of the offense. It's a really shitty system with no actual excuse for not updating it.
But the bot went along with everything you're doing and made no complaints at any point. There will even be chatlogs showing you tried to communicate with them. If they report you, they're putting themselves in the spotlight too.
Reminds me of the time I ran Qarn while doing my lvling roulette for WAR. Our healer clearly hadn't done their job quest for the level that dungeon is. He spammed cure on me and ONLY me while the DPS kept dying. We wiped at least three times on each boss because he definitely didn't have his AOE healing spells and refused to heal either DPS. It was a nightmare.
Glad to see Jesse still going strong. No major, career threatening scandal, no obnoxious shift to appease the algorithm, just Cox being true to Coxself.
Yeah, I run into so many of these while doing roulettes. You can usually tell which ones they are, too, because they behave in very specific ways. Granted, while they typically only do minimal actions, they are usually better crafted than *that*.
And that’s why the character npc’s on the story versions of ff are much more better at healing you than some online rpg cuz we all know you can’t count on the online people as well unless it’s a friend
I desperately want to get back into this game. I played through the base game, and a bit of heavenward.. and I just loved it. It is overall probably the greatest final fantasy of all. The sheer size, the variety of the different jobs, countless mechanics all finally tuned and working together to make such an incredible experience. And the fact that the developers are constantly updating things, patching bugs, adding little quality of life improvements, updating the graphics over time... it's absolutely a work of art.
I was in an alliance raid for I either Aglaia or Euphrosyne and there was a white mage that was right on queue casting a Medica 2 every 20 seconds, followed by a normal Medica. Like clockwork. Between casts, the healer did literally nothing. I called them out and of course, no response. The worst part about fucking FFXIV players is that everyone else turned on me and white-knighted for the very obvious bot player. That healer continued to do the clockwork Medica 2 into Medica for the rest of the raid without saying a word.
Back at the end if Stormblood I was running the Burne religiously and tgis one time we had this healer whi just refused to heal the dps. Neither of ys stood in mechanics, we dodged everything we could but ultimately died to party wide damage during the Mist dragon.
ive died to party-wides in that fight as a dps even when the healer was actually trying. they just got overpowered. Im guessing it's essentially unbeatable with no heals.
My friends and I had a similar experience on Pharos lol. We got matched with a healer who just did NOT seem to know how to do their job, we kept on wiping. We made it through the first boss (the 2 dps died, leaving the tank, funnily enough also a gunbreaker, to finish the fight) then we wiped on the second boss once, and the healer just leaves, like we were the problem. We get a new healer matched and we destroy the second boss in like 20 seconds. We were thanking that new healer so much we were so happy to be done lol
@@R0manDemig0d yeah why. Literally every boss in FF game takes more than a minute and half . 20 sec is unreal. This is not wow . I am tanking that and been through many groups slow or fast. So i know what i am saying
I had a scholar in castrum meridaium that didn't know they were supposed to heal so our parties only healing came from our own self sustains, my invuln, and eos doing the sch's job (poorly I might add). They even died at the final fight and then were running back to the gate to try and get in like that was a thing. I wanted to scream so much.
Pharos Sirius has a lot more going on mechanically than a healer carrying a group. First boss with adds and then the bird with eggs wipes people on the daily.
tbh I kinda love Pharos Sirius for it. I like dungeons that are more than just "bonk three enemies x2, bonk boss, bonk three enemies x2, bonk boss, bonk three enemies x2 one last time, bonk final boss". Boss fights are of course highlights of any instance but that doesn't mean the layout, atmosphere, adds, etc. should be ignored y'know?
This wouldn’t even be such a deal breaker if the bot was set to throw an attack spell and then a healing spell. I had a friend I played City of Heroes with, and she was a a healer type that focused on boss debuffs and minimal healing. She had her character set to follow me and automatically trigger the area of effect heal. When I asked her about it, she explained her type does next to no damage, and her debuffs are kind of useless until we hit a boss of some sort, then she could utterly neutralize them with radiation. Some of those bosses took a while to take down without debuffs.
I had a bot tank in the original Thousand Maw and it was an excruciating time. I was with a friend and she was very new to MMOs. Fortunately, we were in voice and the other DPS agreed to stay with us until either the tank turned on his stance or the kick timer was available. The latter occurred, replacement tank was a player and we cleared that annoying place. Fortunately, never ran into that with Pharos Tower, just headache inducing rush pulls with less than skilled tanks and healers. You have my sympathies, Jesse. Never fun to deal with.
Bots in Dungeons were a massive problem back during the early days of Shadowbringers. This was at the time the most popular way for botters to level up their gold farmers or accounts they would sell for cheaper than the level booster from SE's shop. When SE was going through the process of updating the ARR content during Shadowbringers, they cracked down on the botters in dungeons, because that is where they fled to after SE cracked down on them in the low level ARR and HW zones. These days the botters hide out in Eureka, Eureka is full of bots as Eureka awards *a lot* of gil for farming there and SE is hesitant to nerf it because the gil reward is the only incentive which encourages veteran players to help new players complete it these days because Eureka is still a painful grind 5 years later.
Reminds me of what i assume was a bot tank i had yesterday in Alzadaal's Legacy. They would big pull but they didn't use a single mit skill the entire run. The AST was being super kind, apologising like "Oh i'm sorry, it's been a while since i healed. I'm really sorry" and my paternal instinct took over and went over to comfort them like "no no, you're doing great. The tank isn't using mit". No response from the tank, ever. Even worse, they had a suggestive lalafell portrait.
Thing is, that could also be a legit tank though. I've seen my fair share of tanks that refuse to mitigate... One once told me they didn't need to cause 'it's the healers job to keep me alive' Yeah... Some tanks can just be that bad
The only time I've used follow in a dungeon was either with friends or on Scholar below level like 25, since the fairy can literally outheal any dps in those levels.
I’ve honestly been having trouble with healers lately. I’ll use my stance, my mitigations, but I’ll just get wiped every time I try to pull larger groups. Couldn’t tell if I was bad or the healer wasn’t paying attention.
Two things i also look for with a healer. * Is the healer undergeared * Are they using any of their skills when they need to *especially* *esuna* When it comes to tanks i have to make sure they are using mitigation As for dps i dont pay much attention because a good healer/tank can carry you especially early game
In Final Fantasy XI, if someone has you on follow, you can change gear and they will keep going. So you can just send them running into the countryside lmao. And they would probably die because when you aggro something in that game, it does NOT stop chasing you until you leave the area.
This happend to me plenty of times when i played on some god forsaken times. I had a bot once that couldn’t interact with objects and so never come to the last area
A thing I genuinely love about JoCat is that his art style for these Crap Guides are consistent yet always improving. Looking back at his first DnD video and comparing it to this you can see the improvements; but the style itself stays the same.
I did once create a character literally called Healbot. I would just put myself on follow. Though actually in fights i would play properly, heal those that needed it and dps otherwise, dodge mechanics etc.
Had this happen with a tank. We figured it out because it literally refused to pull bosses until everyone was passed the line, even when we were all screaming we were ready.
“You know, the one that sucks.” - me about any dungeon that’s just gray and dark hallways (we’ve advanced well beyond everything having a literal dungeon feel! Let me see more Dohn Mheg, Holminster Switch, The Burn, Ala Mhigo, Qitana Ravel, The Vault)
I've thankfully only had bots in places that arguably make more sense like Eureka bunny farm bots - annoying, but not detrimental and usually banned quickly. This gives me weird vibes where I'm not even sure about the motive. It's not a MSQ dungeon, and I don't remember anything really crazy like a rare minion drop (though I could be wrong it's been a while since I've run Sirius). Could it be someone trying to farm commendations because they think healers 9/10 will get them regardless of how well they do? Is someone planning to be the biggest burger king tier mentor ever just for a mount of the crown itself (not to besmirch the genuinely good ones out there)?
I had that problem with a healer except it's not a bot. I was a tank (GNB) trying to level up when GNB was new at the time. Before we start I ask the healer if they are comfortable with me pulling big or small and the healer said in confidents to pull big. It was during the start of the first dungeon on Shadowbringers. I pull big and we as a group died quickly, so I pull small. Long story short, during a boss fight when the dps died the healer never use raise throughout the boss fight and the fight was taking too long. Every time the fight is over the other dps had to raise themselves. Once we made it to the final fight, we all died and me and the other two dps wondering what's wrong with the healer and we told the healer that if we wanted to get things through you need to use raise in order win the fight. The healer apologizes and saide that they didn't know that raise can be use in battle. All of us were shocked what the healer just said, and I reply that it's weird for you to say that in a high-level dungeon. The three of us speculate that this healer must have bought a skip. After explaining the healer on what to do we manage to get through without a problem. That's one of the moments I will never forget.
My worst experience with a healer was in the Sunken Temple of Qarn. I was playing tanks, and we obviously had at least one new DPS player. Things went fine up till the first boss, where our healer, whom I wish to remind, is not new, but managed to die to doom anyway. On the run back to us, our new DPS got curious and looked ahead, and managed to pull by mistake. Doing my job, I decided to pick up the mobs, and started kiting back to meet up with the healer. Here's where it gets rather frustrating. Instead of healing me, he just stands there, watch me die to a mix of damage from the mobs, and eventually final sting from the bees. Not sure what the DPS were doing at the time, but that didn't matter. After dying, the healer just looks at me for a few seconds, and, I don't remember the exact words, but in a condescending way, he told me that's what happens when you don't wait for the healer, which absolutely annoyed me. I never understood the mindset of people who will stop doing their role, because others do something wrong or do something for you. Tanks who stop tanking / pulling because a DPS pulls, I get it's annoying, but you suck. Healers stop healing because of stuff like the above? Hate'em... I personally try and do my best regardless of role and situation, adapt, do the best you can, don't deliberately do baby tantrums to "Teach" other people lessons.
Ran into a tank bot the other day. My friend was healing and I noticed the tank wasn't using any abilities. No cds or offensive abilities, just 1 2 3 rotation. Had to test so I told her to stop healing, tank dies multiple times and never said a word. Eventually we kicked it and got a new tank. My first encounter with a bot (at least I think so).
I’m convinced this dungeon just attracts all the weird healers, I had a healer like a month ago that would only cast stone 3, heal 3 and refused to revive anyone
I had this in one of my runs! I was paladin in Amdapor Keep and the bot followed me and only cast medica, not the good regen one but the base medica. we ended up kicking the healer bot and did single pulls until we got a new healer at the end of the dungeon.
Happen to me as well as a tank. Me and the dps decided to troll the bot a lil before kicking them. Using shirk to kill the healer a few times was funny
This was the only dungeon i couldnt finish using the grand company thing where you get npc allies and i thought I needed it to get to the highest rank. To this day its the only unchecked dungeon i have using that feature.
That happened to me last night, So I was The healer And our tank and our DPS bar were both bots. The tank would go out of its way to aggro mobs that any normal player would never do And the bar would literally just run in circles around the perimeter of the boss rooms and not even attack
I have had worst because they were actually a person and made it to The Grand Cosmos in Shadowbringers while thinking that Esuna healed. I got in as the replacement tank because I guess who they had before rage quit. Ended up clearing the dungeon while the two DPS who kept standing in shit lay dead on the floor and the healer spammed esuna to "heal" told them they could revive I could heal myself... DPS got raised and fell over again I had to use much Clemency however I did find it amusing and tried to give them advice the response "What? We got through it."
You can also easily tell a bot by how they move, they move in grids and it looks quite artificial. Also the bots will NEVER try to dodge an aoe or do mechanics.
Its had a real report function for years. Yes it leads you to an external browser, but it functions as it should and they generally check all of them as far as im aware
@@realityoverdrive4059 Last time I used the report function, there was a dialog built right into the game, no external browsers or other nonsense required, and their replies/requests for more info were fully integrated into that support system, right within the game.
Also healer bot in Pharos is death lol. The damage output and buffs from boss mechanics in that place still kill tanks so fast in DT. Just got it as tank the other day and the healer could not keep me healed because our dmg pushed the boss mechanics so fast they just got like 20s buffs. First boss dog spawns almoat infinitely and explode just as fast. Second gets buffs for all the dead baby birds. AND trash mobs cast instant death lol
Me and a friend had someone like this as a tank in Sastasha once, never responded to anything we said in chat, and would run forward, use single-target on enemies, then once the pack was dead, would stand still for like 10 seconds before turning and running bee-line to the next pack Sastasha takes like 7-10 minutes normally, we were in there for 35 minutes with the speed of that tank, after the second boss I ended up running tank as DRG and my friend just focus healed me, if we didn't do that it'd have been a 50 minute run easily
i am pretty sure i had a bot in i think The Aery (the dungeon with Nidhogg as the final boss) he was tank and would not avoid any of the bad and was painfully slow it took i think 30 minutes to finish
Hey guys, it is a bot thing when a player only spams aoe attacks and stay in the same place without dodging mechanics and stuff? It was pretry weird because our group was about to move to next area using the elevator, and when the enemies were gone the tank continued to spam aoe attack, stuck in the same position and nver replied to anything in chat. He stayed like that for a minute or two

No worries, for cases like these you get "kick and replace" and when you're lucky you get a giga chad lala scholar who just makes the dungeon look like a playground. I think I once had a bot tank in a lvl 90 dungeon, so I looked at the healer, they looked at me and in a way we just knew, it's time to dps-tank.
I remember getting kicked from the first dungeon I ever did in FFXIV as the others thought I was a bot. I was a gladiator class at the time and didn't have any idea what tank stance was or where I was going, plus no one ever told me you had to write /p in chat to make it go to your group, so I couldn't contact my teammates as any messages were just going to the novice network.
I had a bot healer in a 24 man raid... It just castes Medica II and as soon as it wore off another one. My raid chat was mad on my behalf and theirs. I ended up healing over half that raid solo & got six comms.
Got stuck with a healer on Drk and I didn’t say anything to the guy but it was hell since he never healed once and let his fairy do it instead so I’d just get tiny 38 heals in Brayford
Back in the MUD days I'd rent out my BrakhumBot2000 for power leveling. It was remote controlled by other party members and was the tankiest beast that ever tankest!
