Is This Wisdom Teeth Removal Myth BUSTED?! 

Im learning facts about my teeth daily with this guy and some of them terrify me but also shows that our teeth are so complicated

Worst pain I've ever had. Having children was a breeze compared to that pain.

I suffered with dry socket after my 21-year molars (lower) were removed, but not due to drinking through a straw. It was around a week post extraction when I began smelling something foul coming from my mouth. 48 hours later, I say the dentist that did the extraction for a follow up. Apparently I had forgotten about some gauze. After he removed it . . . OH THE PAIN!!! DRY SOCKET!!! I don't wish that pain on anyone.

Hi! Isn’t the area supposed to be stitched? All 4 of mine have been sewn and got the wire removed a week later. Not having them sewed seems literally barbaric

How do you make your teeth whiter?

I'm currently training to be a dental nurse. When we set up for an extraction appointment, we put some water and also an aspirator (suction) tip out: the latter in case the tooth or some old filling breaks... we obvs don't want the patient to swallow it... and the former in case they want to rinse after being numbed up, as the taste of the local anaesthetic isn't fab, nor is that of the Xylonor gel, we sometimes use beforehand. Immediately after they have rinsed, or not, I then have to take the cup away, because that clot needs to form... I always feel so guilty doing so and worry that if they have a parent/partner/carer watching that they think I am just being mean. I realise it's something I am likely overthinking a lot... they have more important things to worry about. 😂

I used a straw. I just didn't do hard pulls when drinking, just eaassyyyyy on the suction lol

My sister got dry sockets from smoking after her wisdom teeth were removed.

How ironic I just got my wisdom tooth pulled out today, and this popped up on my feed.

I had dry socket even though I did everything right. It was the worst pain I ever had and I couldn’t take any pain meds at all.

I got 4 that will be extracted next month

when I got my wisdom teeth removed with palatal espansion my mouth got stretched so hard I coulnd't moove it for 7 days. Even opening the jaw was impossible due to stretching of the muscles so just put the spoon at the entry was just enough to eat but so hard. Even today I'm wondering WTF they do with my mouth

@TheBentist is there any problem or is it bad for your health to gleek? Shoot saliva out the gland on the bottom of the tongue?? And can you expland what that gland (aka 2 holes) under the tongue are for? I dont have IG ....so hopefully you see this question. Need help folks.

Painful…don’t start to describe it! Listen.. I was in so much pain my friend gave me some clove oil .. I just took it straight and that was a bad idea…the BURN .. lawd I missed the part when they said dilute it…listen…BRUHHH!

But won't the Dentist or Oral Surgeon seal up the socket with stiches?

i looove reading pubmed studies. the sad thing is when doctors dont know updated info... thats why my obgyn said i shouldnt use metformin even tho my endocrinologist wants to use it because of pcos (i did take it a half year before and it really helped my body). same is with other issues but i dont tell docs about up to dste studies because many of them barely know english (am in a non english speaking country) so they wont accept studies or they think i want to battle who is smarter (which i dont to to be.. just want the care i need..). i am just so sad about medical care in my country. to the straw thing: i actually used to use straws after wisdom teeth removal. i think its about bow you suck. if you agressively suck you also suck your face inwards which could be an issue i guess... but i have to say i would not recommend trying... why not avoid simple things to make sure. i just didnt avoid it cuz i was loopy and already forgot back then lol

Hey Bentist I am 23 years old. I never had my wisdom teeth’s at all. From 2022-2024 I have no teeth at all so I have top and bottom teeth are Snaps dentures because I was eating too many sweets. In middle school I had permanent retainer made my teeth week that’s why. Now I trying educate some kids brush your teeth so not become like me
