Glad to see Tonewinner getting some more attention on RU-vid, great video brother. Lol, I have to agree on the looks, that is one thing that struck me when I reviewed these. The build quality is absolutely stellar, regardless of price point.

I think this amp is awesome. Looks and sounds amazing. Pleasantly surprised. Also Aamir is excellent to deal with. I'm waiting for my tone winner d600 sub. Which is supposed to be awesome as well. Then the at-300 prosesser is my next purchase. I had a lot of quality amps. But this one is my favorite. Noticeable difference.

Tonewinner is an OEM house and of course their own make. The look and the build looks great. The unknowns are the reliability. But I have seen these in action, and their following ever growing it is well deserved. The Monolith is an ATI sourced Amplifier. Emotiva and the like are Chinese well done products. The Tonewinner is from a land where audio lives well in China. People miss out why China is a great source of audio. Most are seeing the crap China can ship to us. But when under full oversight, and the insistence of quality even right down to Tiff like connectors. If your Pre Pro is full differential balanced, why not take advantage of that besides the known common mode noise cancellation. I like this product allot, I just can't take that plunge it is a terrific value sure, and the realities were different, sure this would be in my rack too. Capable products the Tonewinner. Not so sure about the Preamplifier Processors, but for sure the amplifiers are solid.

tonewinner products are getting great reviews, my only gripe is the name of the company, they really should think about changing it as it just sounds cheesy, it might improve their sales.

I did not catch if you mentioned it’s class of operation or not? (Im guessing class D, and not class A or AB operation, based on the spec I did catch that it will pull 1100W from a 120VAC, and it should be mentioned here also a standard 15amp residential breaker kicks off at approx 1350. (Which is also the logic in supplying 240VAC: bigger wire, higher rated breaker) Im an EE, so, I was disappointed in the power supply size & quality (after looking at the mfg’s website) and especially at the bigger brother version with (I forget now?) with either 11ch or 13ch…

Amps have transformers so the wattage at a wall doesn't have anything to do with watts from the amp. Power Amps are not outputting at 120v. Keep in mind Ohms law. Also they have caps that hold a charge.

That's by design. You can always ground the chasis to the processor if needed and is commonly done.

I've been going back and forth between this and the Monoprice monolith 7x200. For the extra near $500 for the Monoprice I was wondering if it was worth it so this made it a bit easier. Thank you

I was aware of that, but for most people that won't come into play unless they are close in price or sound/build quality is vastly different. For me and a lot of others it comes down to price vs performance and for that the tonewinner is hard to beat. I bought one a month after posting and i have been extremely happy. The tonewinner is a beast that sounds great and is built like a tank. I have had zero issues and it has driven my mix of 8 and 4ohm speakers perfectly. So for a $500+ price difference at the time of purchase i personally would not go back and do it over because one is built by ati and the other is not but to each their own.

Like i said that stuff doesn't justify a 500 to 600 dollar bump in price to me and most others if that's a huge deal to you go for it dude to each their own. And most say tonewinner is a brother to emotiva so it's not junk no name stuff

I had the monoprice 5x200 class AB and returned it. It may be ok for movies, but, it just doesn't have the fidelity for music listening in comparison to a couple of my hifi amps. I am curious about this tonewinner as well.

I'm currently running a 5.2.4(o god over 7 channels what am I goito do?) upgrading to a 7.2.6. You may not of heard of them but, they used to construct amps for a little company Emotiva. Does or will Tonewinner make hypex based amps? Picking out HT equipment now for 7.2.4 system at 4ohms. Was looking at monolith 7ch and 5 ch class AB amps ( very heavy) and there new 8ch Hypex amps. Like the hypex based on weight. Bit this Tonewinner is sparking my interest. What's your thoughts? Second worries be HTP-1 processor or another suggestion....whew!

When will you be doing a actual review of the product....apparently the 7200 amp you could hear a hiss coming from the speakers with nothing playing according to Spec of Tech...when I talked to AAmir he said that this was taken care of with the new model (7300) so will be interesting to know from you if you have this problem...as i am lookin to buying one Thanks and also do you know of any discount code for Canada? again Thanks

Great video! I can not agree more with you with the Tonewinner product! I have owned 2 Tonewinner AD5180 5 ch amplifiers for over a year now, from Aamir @ Summitt Hifi. All I can say is...to this day they still impress me. They will stay in my system! I run them off a NAD M17 pre, and Legacy Classic HD's all 4ohm..tons of clean power, the amps really do the gear justice. After living with them, I can't recommend them enough. Looking forward to your thoughts with the TW 7300's, PS, get the carpet in!!! Cheers!

You'll use the supplied trigger cables and connect the trigger out on your AVR/processor to the trigger input on the amp. Once that is done when the AVR/processor is turned on the amp will come on automatically.

great review. I do believe that audio equipment, whether is speakers or amps or receivers, there is an aesthetic quality that is to be considered. I don't know any audio enthusiast that hides the equipment. It should be displayed and tower speakers need to look good in the room as they are a prominent feature. I use a vintage Onkyo M504 as my two channel amp and it always gets comments of praise because it looks so cool. Has large watt meter displays for each channel. Finally a modern audio company realizes this.

My cinema room is my living room so I wanted everything to look nice. My stereo power amp for my front left & right speakers has old school (non digital) VU meters. But it's a contemporary unique looking amp with veneered zebrano wood all around it. Apart from the CNC machined aluminium front and back panels.

Music and movies are essentially from 20 Hertz to 20 khz so why not provide that spec? I'm bringing this up because you are touting the wattage but it is fluffed-up wattage

Hi need your advice I have already the tonewinner PA 7 channel but if I need to connect another tonewinner power amplifier to my receiver how do I connect cause my Onkyo receiver TX RZ 830 has only 1 trigger out. Just trying to have those connections so I can power up 2 tonewinner PAs once the Onkyo is turn on. Thank You.

It appears to have a trigger input as well as "link input", might be what you are looking for to power "daisy chain" other equipment.

Per the manual the link input is to sync up the dimmers. For dual triggers you'd need a splitter.

The Monolith series is NOT cheap sheet metal. It is very solid feeling all the way around. I have to assume you have never seen one in person based on your comment. Because it is flat incorrect. It does not bow in when pushed on.

The XLR female receptacles do not have a metal eject button like on the Emotiva(s).

Hey Jhayden, It's 180 x7 @ 8 ohms. There's no rating for 4 ohms for all channels driven but it would be a good bit higher than 180 watts per channel.

I've had this amp for about 2 weeks now. I got it after ordering the AD-5180 and being notified it was not available. Aamir told me this amp should do at least 300 watts per channel in 4 ohms. I really wish there were 4 ohm specs on this like the AD-5180

I was pretty disappointed to see the processor has no hdmi 2.1 even though it was released in 2021. Great price point though. Thanks for introducing us to the brand

That ToneWinner Pre-Pro also is not 16-ch. They market it as 16-ch. But that's 7.3.6, not 9.1.6. And the 3 subwoofers isn't even really the case, because they aren't actually three independent subwoofer outputs. There are just three subwoofer pre-outs. So it's actually 7.1.6. It's not the equal of a Monolith HTP-1 or Emotiva XMC-2 in terms of the number of channels it can process

@@RobHFirstReflect What would you recommend for an 11 or 9 channel amp? Currently only have a 5.2.4 setup but sometime in the future might decide to go for 7 bed layer speakers.

@@thelonestranger777 if all 9 or 11 channels have to be in a single chassis, then for a 9-channel, I’d suggest the Emotiva XPA-9 Gen3. That model gives you 5 channels at around 200-250 Watts each (into 8 ohms, all channels driven) plus 4 channels at 65 Watts each, which is perfectly fine to handle the four overhead Atmos speakers. For an 11-channel, I’d probably opt for the Monoprice Monolith 11X. That gives you 3 channels at 200 Watts each, and 8 channels at 100 Watts each. As for why I say Emotiva for 9, but Monoprice Monolith for 11, it’s because the Monolith 9X costs $50 more than the Emotiva XPA-9, but it only gives 3 x 200 Watts + 6 x 100. Compare that to the 5 x ~225 + 4 x 65 of the XPA-9, and you’re simply getting more power for your floor level while paying less. Seems like the better deal. But for the 11 channel, Emotiva’s stereo modules are only 65 Watts per channel vs Monolith’s 100 Watts per channel. Granted, that’s only about 2dB extra headroom. But given that you’ll need to power the Surrounds and Surround Backs with stereo modules, it just seems like the better option to have that bit of extra Wattage on tap 😉 But all of that is moot if you’re ok with having more than one chassis. You could get a really nice, high Wattage 7-channel amp, plus a less expensive 5-channel amp to handle the overheads (and have one extra channel left over. Maybe get a Pre-Pro that does Auro-3D and use that for the Voice of God channel 😉)

I just got word Tonewinner will have an 11 channel amp soon which we should be getting in for review. If you have an avr you can save money just letting the separate amp run the bed layer. This gives more power available to the atmos as the avr doesn't have to run the bed layer.

Glad to see Tonewinner stepping out from behind the shadow of Emotiva, and instead of building stuff for Emotiva they are selling it under their own brand label for less. Would love to see some bench test measurements of how cleanly it outputs what is put into it. Certainly from the marketing specs, it looks impressive. I do have a bone to pick with their marketing for their processor, since several of the channels are just duplicated mono outputs for subwoofers, bumping up the apparent channel output but not offering things like individually adjustable output for each subwoofer.....so really one still needs a miniDSP, and the redundant subwoofer output channels, while nice for marketing, don't give you anything a single subwoofer output wouldn't give you if you are trying to do proper time and gain alignment.

Honestly all processors need a minidsp. None are really good at aligning multiple subs and I know of many Trinov rooms that have minidsp, qsc dsp etc used to align the subs. This allows the processor to see one sub and takes alignment out of its hands. So the one sub out isn't really an issue as sub 2 out almost always goes or should go Unused. But I agree it's better to just have one sub out than two paralleled. Not everyone will know its not attempting to align dual subs. I plan to align it all manually anyways and see what it can do.

@@hometheatergurus I will be eager to see your review. I agree that miniDSP type setup is critical for almost every processor. My "beef" is: They call it a 16 channel pre pro, but it's really just 14 since three of the outputs they are counting are just the mono sub output, repeated. I hope that's the only place they are cutting corners, though, because it could be a unique alternative.

The AT300 sub outs are semi-independent. Even though the xover is shared with 3 outs, all 3 have separate EQ settings and delays including highpass cutoff. So in effect it's separate. Moreover multi subs are calibrated or aligned to each other to work like a single sub, so separate subs is not a big thing. Most important is the wide channels or 6 Atmos at this price range along with XLRs

For example, it you look at Denon, ARcam, Marantz, Anthem, they don't call those additional subwoofer outputs, even when independent from one another, additional channels, whereas Tonewinner marketing conflates additional sub channel outputs with speaker channel outputs.
