Is Trevor Really A Bad Person? (it’s complicated) 

Trevor isn't really evil, he's chaotic. He embraces him emotions and his impulses and abides to them. He's needy and lost, he doesn't feel respect for those who fear him and he feels absolute respect for those who doesn't and there's a point he wants them to be there for him (Michael, Franklin, Lamar, etc.). At difference of Michael, for example, Trevor has stronger values of loyalty and friendship, perhaps for his upbringing, he believes that if he's loyal to their friends they'll be loyal to him, so when he feels betrayed, he goes in a rampage. Being an agent of chaos doesn't mean he's stupid or just a lunatic. His psyche and his rationale overal is solid, he's pretty smart in many ways but his emotions always get the best of him. He can be methodic and follow a well designed plan (i.e. the Meeryweather Heist, or the Series A funding) but due of his lack of focus, his impulsive behavior and short term gratification, he tends to miss the bigger picture (like not researching what was in Merryweather's possession or not noticing his buyers was a cop). Despite that, he works pretty well with an organized crew that compensate his shortcomings, you can see it when he works with the rest of the heists involving Michael, Lester, Franklin, etc. He's a fantastically well written character, it's a shame Steven Ogg has downplayed him as a "cartoon" when in reality is an extremely complex and interesting character.

Short answer: yes he is evil but he has standards unlike some other criminals.

I can’t agree that Trevor is misunderstood and/or complicated. Sure, he’s suffered in his life but he is also, objectively, one of the most evil protaganists in the entire GTA franchise. Even when compared to Michael: Trevor is more bloodthirsty than Michael and kills people needlessly. In the north Yankton robbery at the beginning of the game Trevor kills a security guard that grabs hold of Michael and Michael tells him he didn't have to do that. After robbing the gold bank near the end of the game Trevor is about to kill one of the security guards but Michael stops him and instead bribes the guard. Even when you switch to him during gameplay you can catch him assaulting innocent people. Michael kills people as well, but he only does so when they get in his way or when ordered to do so. Trevor kills people simply because he wants to. Also Trevor doesn’t value loyalty and friendship as much as he may let on. His two friends Ron and Wade don’t really seem to like him very much and they seem to support him out of fear and intimidation rather than respect. If Trevor existed in real life there’s no doubt you would stay the hell away from him because he could just snap and take you out at any moment.

Actions make the person. Trevor kills people, not to protect others or in reasonable self defense. No matter what reasoning you could use as an excuse, not being a bad person is off the table. Being sympathetic and understandable is something else.

If you check Ron's social media after the start of Mrs. Philips, he'll have posted a comment about meeting Trevor's mother, which is odd if she's just a hallucination. I'd say that while Trevor has some positive traits (mostly his loyalty), he is definitely evil based on his choice of careers (bank robber and meth dealer are hardly things that contribute positively to the community).

Trevor has such a big mouth. If only he could stop yelling all the time at anyone for everything and anything that would make him a better person right away. Also improving his hygiene wouldn't hurt.

On the ASPD scale, I'd say he's a high functioning psychopath(rare), whereas Michael is a high functioning sociopath (fairly common).

In real life terms, absolutely In the context of the story, he's a better man than Michael and many of the characters featured in the GTA series with better principles but get on his bad side and he'll be a monster

Trevor is a brilliantly complex character - most of the characters in GTA V are well written with multiple facets. He's unethical and very capitalistic, but is very intelligent and can be very loyal. And once he decides you're a friend it takes a lot to shake that. That's what really bugs him about Michael - he doesn't want to lose that close friendship and the agony of Michael pushing him away is torture to him.

Not just evil, but psychotic. He has got to be the worst protagonist ever in a video game. Hard to cheer for someone like him or play with him as a ‘good guy’ character.

Not only is Trevor a Psycho Killer but he also eats his victims and tried to trick Michael into eating a person.

Also Trevor is a hypocrite and actually intended on killing brad. after the game if you hang out with Michael and Franklin Trevor admits that his intentions were to kill brad because he's a liability and he's only angry because Michael did it with the involvement of law enforcement. At the end Trevor is his own worst enemy he's everything Michael is just 10 times worst he just doesn't like to be on the receiving end of the bullshit the only difference between Michael and Trevor is the method in which they deal with loose ends Michael is calculated and Trevor is uncalculated in his method. Trevor only hates disloyalty when its done against him and the proof is in the way he treated jhonny Ortega and the O'Neals yes they weren't friends but they all flourished and worked together everyone had a piece of the pie eating taking care of their people but no Trevor wanted it all for himself same as Michael that wanted the whole pie for himself and was willing to betray others for it so why should anyone feel sorry for him.

i doubt we'll see michael again he finally gave up the criminal life post the main story And trevor for me is...misunderstood: he has a sensible side , like when he hugs Mary Ann (a side character who is almost as crazy as he is) or cries on the way to Madrazo's ranch to drop off Patricia and never see her again "for some reason...everyone I love abandons me" he barely shows it in front of Mike and Franklin I guess he doesnt want to be seem as weak but if the trio hang out (i dont remember if its during or post-story ) Trevor will say "I miss my innocence...i dont want my mom to see me like this" to which Michael laughs his ass off in a town full of assholes his chaos is justified

It’s all a question of which is better: Loyalty or sensibility. Trevor is loyal to the end and has reasons for his actions that are not selfish but very harmful to those around him. Michael is someone who will backstab you given the chance and his actions are driven by much more selfish reasons, however they aren’t dangerous to the same extent as Trevor’s. It comes down to purpose and opportunity which are the individual pieces shaping this whole story.

Trevor might be psychopath but him being loyal makes him better than Michael, one of the things I like about him is that he feels like an uncle to Michael's family, he kinda prevented tracey from getting embarrassed on fame or shame and if you hangout with jimmy he won't go to any bars because he doesn't want him to get drunk because he's still a teenager.

Sure he makes interesting comments and goes a little overboard sometimes, but Trevor is the realest character that will always help and be loyal to his friends

I like Trevor’s character a lot. I didn’t at first because he killed Johnny, a character I also liked a lot but I realised how loyal Trevor is and how similar they are. In any case I don’t think he’s evil - Trevor is more of a product of his own environment. He has true compassion, loyalty, affection and respect for those he loves which is more than I can say for other GTA protagonists who are actually evil or more close to evil than Trevor (Tommy, Claude and Toni).

Edit: TL;DR Trevor is a good guy, I choose deathwish because my child mind couldn’t kill either because a connection between the three had been made, I was glad I did because I got to kill Devin and Wei Chiang. I first played and completed GTAV, I didn’t kill Trevor. I didn’t even kill Micheal. I chose Deathwish as the ending. Keeping in mind that I was a kid at the time, young, I must’ve had a good heart and saw it. Trevor was funny, insane and had a different way with his words and actions. I didn’t kill him because, I guess I knew, and still know that he had a hard life, and was valuable for the crew. He knew how to handle guns, knew how to make “special candy” and even though he was insane and all that, his actions certainly were that of justice. I couldn’t blame him, and Micheal just isn’t an option. Sure Micheal is a dick at times, but he’s also funny af with his sarcasm. He also knows the game and what to do, so he’s also a valueable team member. Franklin is new, but knows business and finance and all, proven by him wanting to go to college and work hard for a career, a career that is worth it. So he’s valueable in that sense, but you can’t kill him. I didn’t know what deathwish did, but I sure was happy when killing Mr Chiang. I knew Mr Chiang kidnapped Micheal. I was too young to know what Stretch and Steve Haines did. But I was more than happy, ecstatic even when I killed Devin Weston. My young mind didn’t know exactly what he did, but I knew that he was a problem, and hated the rich bastard from the start. Franklin had a connection with both Micheal and Trevor, so I just couldn’t do it. I think I was going to kill Micheal, just for the pure fact that Trevor’s missions were just great, and Micheal seemed like a depressed, middle aged guy, and a child’s mind just thinks they’re not good. But then I ended up just “no. Let’s go deathwish, and buckle up. It’ll be a hard mission” (it wasn’t that hard). But, this is my experience with the game. My thoughts on Trevor? Certainly justifiable actions. His mother wasn’t around, he thought Brad was alive all along, he was betrayed by his friend, and found out he was working for the FIB with Micheal. He didn’t have the best childhood to top this off. So his actions are completely justifiable. The worst he could’ve done was kill Micheal the moment he met him again in Los Santos in his own home in front of his family.

It's complicated, well yes, he is a lunatic, drug dealer, S.O, Mass murder, and more, Trevor is loyal to his friends. However, this still doesn't excuse his psychotic behavior and actions, but still I always choose C, because I don't know why I would choose any other ending, bot A and B are sad. C is the best ending.
