Compared to the US, Turkey can be considered safe, but... The worst of Istambul for me is actually traffic safety.

Definitely an interesting time to be in Turkiye.

I am a Turk living in California for over a decade now and I find it quite funny that people from Philly or any other major city in the US commenting on Istanbul's safety. Crime statistical data is out there to begin with but daily life or traveling as a tourist is so much safer in Istanbul and Turkey in general, Americans I'm sure having a hard time processing because that's not what they were told to expect. So they are always on the edge. While they don't really need to. You'll have pickpockets and scammers in every city around the world but that's pretty much about it in Istanbul. Now if you live in Turkey and are actively political in anyway, then it is not safe at all. That is the major difference comparing it to the US.

Seems like Turkey 🇹🇷 could be safe considering what is going on in Israel 🇮🇱.

Since they are westerners they will not face any issue in Turkey. But for people of Middle East its a hell.

Türkiye’de herhangi bir turiste bir şey olsa polisler sorunu çözmek için her şeyi yapar. Ben İstanbul’da yaşıyorum . Turistlerin güvenlik sorunu yaşadığını hiçbir zaman görmedim. . Yaşadıkları sıkıntılar taksicilerin fazla para almaya çalışması ve bazen bir şeyler satmaya çalışan dükkanlar.. bunun dışında Türkler misafirleri çok sever..Türkiyenin doğusuna doğru gidin insanlara selam verin.. size her türlü yardımı yapmaya çalışacaklardır. Kürtler ve Türkler insanları misafir etmekte yarışırlar

Just got back from Turkey last Wednesday Been 3 times for dental treatment and please trust me Turkey is not safe especially Antalya Old Town Please please please stay safe especially after dark Hopefully thats me finished with the place the relief once that plane left the runway was amazing 😮😊

I have been to Turkey many times, it used to be extremely safe, and very progressive country, but in the last 15 years, have been going backwards.... it's more conservative, and less tolerant of whatever the increasingly powerful religious leadership does not approve. I stopped going to a beautiful country that I still love but do not feel safe any more....
