Comment section isn’t getting it.. remember Steph’s (regular season) game in MSG? Remember his deep three to win the game vs the thunder to win the game? That is exactly how this moment appears for Maxey. What Maxey did last night was so ballsy. in the face of Embiid being so low energy, he made plays almost no one would make in such a big moment Tatum ain’t doing that. Shai doing that. Luka and maybe Ant could do it, but very very few players can pull off what Maxey pulled off last night

No one is discredited his performance. The problem his this “face of the league” conversation has had so many names the phrase “face of the league” has no value. After suns got swept they were saying Ant is the face of league. Before that they said Tatum and before that it was Luka. It’s passed around so much that it holds no weight. Anytime a young player has a great performance the conversation of “is he the face of the league” keeps getting brought up

“Current Face of the league” is one conversation “Future face of the league” is of course going to include a handful of names unless you have a crystal ball. But no one is saying Jaylen Brown is the future face, or Trae Young, or Darius garland, etc. It’s limited to 5-10 guys
