I think I’m cooking something, hear me out I feel like UFL has the chance to bring a football game to the next level customization wise with these skins. Imagine if these guys gave different skins to players not only affecting certain stats but with the way they’re modeled as well. Take Ronaldo as an example, you have both base versions with short sleeves and long sleeves, but you can pack more skins like a spiky mohawk Ronaldo with long sleeves (Utd days), a slicked back Ronaldo with short sleeves and wristbands (early RM days), a noodle hair Ronaldo with long sleeves (last RM season), a taper fade Ronaldo with long sleeves (Juve days), a buzz cut Ronaldo and many more, each having its own rarity and stats’ boosts regarding each era. Just imagine doing this with lots of players, Messi, Neymar, Vini, Ramos, TAA, Haaland, Mbappe, and many more maybe including legends. Me personally, being a huge Kaká fan would love to have a chance at getting a long haired Kaká with long sleeves and black gloves which is the version that made me fall in love with this sport. I know it’d be a lot of work but just imagine how exciting it’d be to have these models in the game, that way they’d make a lot of money as a company and I’m sure people would LOVE to get their favorite players’ skins, especially those that hold a special place in their heart. This way people who are willing to spend money on the game can do it without breaking the game and it keeps the game’s non-P2W idea alive. Please tell me if I’m onto something here or I didn’t cook shiii 😭🙏🏻

UFL haters need to be more open minded and realize that competition is good. We need competition in a game like this. I will leave you with this. Why do you think that the Path to Glory promo with its content was so good the same day UFL Open Beta dropped? They didn't want anyone going to UFL. That alone was a small glimpse of what competition for EA could look like.

Menus were unreal imo. Highly rate that it’s not pay 2 win but rather grinding. However the gameplay was shocking imo. Luckily it’s only the beta. Once they fix the dribbling and passing this game will be unreal.

For me personally, so far the UFL gameplay was too clunky, but definetly potential and I'm not writing off and will defo play since it is free

I don’t think they should change anything about the finishing. I always felt that with FIFA/FC the finishing was way too consistent and that it should be more manual. Not every one-on-one with the keeper or great chance in the box should result in a goal, just like in real life, even great strikers miss sitters, but in FIFA they rarely did. The finishing stat never felt that important in FIFA, because the game made finishing so easy. Taking the same shot from the same position with the same amount of power should not have the same result every time, the variability is what prevents strong meta‘s as it prevents players from seeking out that one spot on the pitch over and over again because they know they will score from there 100% of the time. Instead the gameplay would open up as players would have to try different things during a match to try and score.

I wished they'd just release it in its beta state while they continue to work on the final product and they can update the beta along the way so we can continue giving feedback. I would play the beta as it was last weekend every single day until they release the finished product. It was so much fun and didn't feel scripted at all.

I personally had more fun with this broken FREE beta than I did with the broken game that costs £60

As long there are the type of people that complain about graphics, ea will always have the upper hand.

Every sports/football game is fun and fantastic until people have a few months to grind and figure out how to exploit the AI and mechanics to get wins.

I wouldn’t mind if it came out even next year with more betas weekends to get more feedback and make changes. One thing I REALLY wanna see are tournaments for items: player skins and packs, player customization items, stadiums, currency, etc. They could have multiple tourneys that come out each week with these items. They could have three player skin tourneys with like a low tier player, mid tier, and high rated player.

I missed the opportunity to play it but from the videos I've seen both the gameplay and especially the menu content looks very fun and a lot better than I expected. I think many people who are used to FUT will just look at "what's different" but if you make yourself free (haven't played EAFC since October, fuck that game), you realize this is a very interesting concept. They circumvent the license issues by focusing on the players, which also makes sense since you build YOUR team, why would their clubs matter after you signed them? It's about the players and as long as they have all the players and put them into interesting promos (current ones look great, kind of like Match Attaxx / Panini trading cards rather than the always the same FUT cards in different colors) this can be very fun and replace FUT for those who are tired of EA fucking Sports.

With UFL being gone for a lil bit, I've really started to miss it! Especially whilst playing Champs with my England team 😂

It feels like they took a game like fifa 19/20/21 and then removed most to all animations and fixed some of the problems of those game

I think considering what it is which is online only sort of UT, I believe it's an Efootball killer especially if Konami doesn't make Master League, football editor and all the other games modes that PES used to have.

The game is nothing innovative as it looks and everything is same as e football but there’s something with the gameplay that makes u feel rewarded when u score, i think it has the potential to be a really important game

I'm a Pes/Efootball player, having not played FIFA since the 2018 one. I really enjoyed UFL, the whole UI was nice the fact it's cross platform was a breath of fresh air and loved the grind to get better players and upgrade them. 70+ games in the gameplay was not great but it kept me playing. I hope they go more down the Efootball gameplay route then EaFC gameplay just my opinion.

I plan on ONLY playing UFL this year if it comes out for PC. Game looked amazing and actually was based on skill not pay to win. Please come out for PC

Slide Tackles, Finishing, and fluidity need to be improved. Once this happens its a mic drop best football game around. I had a lot of fun playing the beta even with all those issues.

ea is in trouble

Fifa 18 was the last game I felt Im pretty good without any good players in the team, at the end of it I had gold Jesus and gold Rahsford up top with 1k games and I could do skills with them, out run a defender when I got good position, score longshot and most important finish I could driven when I had open situation and win against full icon teams when I played better. I hate the thing ea add new shots and nerf or forgot about the others like the mentioned driven shots wich are not usable at all in this years game

I was actually sad when the Beta ended. Even when losing I had my fun and felt so rewarded for good defensive decisions... Obviously there are a lot of things that needs work. The passing connection was way off. Especially in the attacking third. I loved the menus and skins and hope they can find a way to bring monetization into it, without too much pay to win.

If we are being honest, UFL is still miles behind FC, regardless of how much we dislike it. The dribbling is so so slow and the passing is delayed badly, the shooting is either terrible or way too good depending on the shot type. On top of this, they don’t have the realism that FC has, licenses etc. They also only have one mode (so far) which ultimately isn’t enough when they also have the gameplay issues mentioned

My biggest gripe with this UFL game, and I'm not trying to take away all the hard work the devs have done here, but my biggest gripe with this game is that they decided to copy (or be inspired by) fifa's gameplay, which is not a good base for a football game. All they had to do instead is take PES' (not Efootball, PES!) gameplay, add a few "fifa-isms" AND "Football Ultimate Team", with improvements of course, some general Quality of Life improvements and they would have the biggest football game ever made. No, seriously. If you had the capacity to make a football game from scratch I've no idea what on Earth made you go the "fifa gameplay" route over anything else. Fifa's ALWAYS struggled when it comes to gameplay. You fire up Fifa from '98 and EA FC 24 and you can see the almost identical (albeit quite a bit more sophisticated) "ball stuck on foot" and "on ice skates" animations. Maaaan, I had high hopes for this game. I'm not mad, just really disappointed.

If UFL are still reading the comments I would love a theatre mode, just like cod black ops when u can go around your gameplay recording awesome cinematics, this would be crazy for content creators to make clean edits etc without having the UI hud showing and different cameras flying around the map. The amount of new concepts people can come up with just by having this would be unreal. Just have a history of all your games played or an option to save them into theatre mode. Just makes everything more Unique and another mode that EA FC will never have

This Game has loads of potential, if they are able to polish it this game will be very good.

What’s going to help keep the replay value on this game after you have the funds to unlock everyone and upgrade them all? Different skins?

Although a great video with constructive criticism I just disagree with a few things. I play Efootball a lot, like a lot and although I enjoy it, it’s not a better game than EA FC. The AI interceptions are crazy, it’s hard to dribble sometimes because the defenders are stuck to you like glue almost as if they were constant pressing and a few other things about the game. The second thing is you contradicted yourself a bit about EA FC saying all you have to do is hold the sprint button with one player. But then a few minutes after you mention EA fc and efootball have the craziest AI catchup. Most of the time You’re not catching up to anybody on EA FC if they’re gone.

Has the potential to be good and hopefully they keep it up and don't go down the pay to win route and just end up becoming another version of EA coz I worry that's what 2K is gonna do when they launch FIFA 2k. The funny thing is most people that grew up in this ultimate team era for EA don't actually remember that EA was behind the likes of TIF and Pro Evo back in the day in the early 2000s before EA eventually eclipsed everyone in that round about 07 era onwards and the eventual birth of ultimate team in that FIFA 10 and FIFA 12 era

I hope UFL don't give up on this game. Lots of great ideas within the game and it's promising 👌 just gotta sort out the licenses and polish graphics over time

I have a big concern with this game: Right now in eafc 24 fut I play with Liga Portugal / Portuguese cards. I like this came but I´m concerned they wont make the cards I want viable. Everyone will be running with Mbappes and Messis. While the Liga Portugal /Eredivisie / Turkish league will have no choice but to either play another game of go the "meta way"

The problem with the sprinting is the FIRST TOUCH .. they kick the ball a thousand meters away and you lose possession … it was really annoying

I want to see a game with roles for positions like what fm has so that not every game feels the same, players take up different positions and have movement/attacking ai based on the role, adding a need for real tactical understanding to the skill gap as well. Not just the bs instructions that ea has

With this BETA in over a 55 games played, i was maybe angry twice, then, the minute i switch to FC24… i was ANGRY in the 1 st game in Rivals! So UFL you guys are in the correct path, I loved the manual defending a lot!!! 🤙🏼

I really like it when I was with a bad team but after upgrading it gave me FC 24 vibes that I didn't enjoyed. The more they differentiate UFL from EA FC, the better.

No because FIFA was the standard so gameplay is based around FIFA if it doesn't feel like FIFA people won't touch it.

Its obvious that they need to work on the first touch and first controle animation. Its always the same how players gets the ball when they passed.

Honest review (After 40 games) actually i like to play a diffrent football game The game feels like an Alpha rather than Beta at this point. Though that's what a beta is for and hopefully the devs are going to listen and not be disheartened with the actual hate and no constructive criticism it's getting at the moment. A lot of the issues could be server based, though, as the gameplay feels slow and unresponsive. • Tackling needs improved, feels really unresponsive, and very little follow through to actually come away with the ball. Seems as though players have no aggression at all. • Shooting needs a complete overhaul. Feels like it's a lottery at times. Doesn't seem to go where I'm aiming at all. • Passing is fine for the most part, need the power and speed adjusted just IMO. Every pass feels like it's going toward the right player I'm aiming for so no accuracy issues. • Set pieces need reworked entirely. Free kicks are too easy to hit the target (top corner). Pens are too quick (ball aim) for high skilled pen takers, will try lower skilled players today. Corners are basic, have no complaints, I would like to see something new, though. • Animations need to be polished, whether it's keepers diving erratically or players jumping for corners, they look way off and cartoonish. • Menus and UI are slow and sluggish but seem to be going in the right direction. Everything looks very well polished but just needs to be more responsive. I think the game has a lot of potential and we all need a proper fifa rival but at this point it feels like it won't be this year. I HOPE I AM WRONG THOUGH. At the end i will not give 200€ to fc25 noway! Ok fifa is last point on football but has lots of issue on online unplayable. Dont forget this, in fifa series an ufo land to pitch and was taking players from there to here. So give chance and support ufl and 2k. I really enjoyed more than fifa in beta ufl.

League of Legends was not the best moba on release but it exploded because it was free to play. Fortnite on release was considered a worse pubg for poor people. It exploded. I don't think people understand the power of free to play. Why should I buy the next Fifa if I can just play UFL for free. Why would I convince my friends to buy the next Fifa to play with when I can just tell them to download UFL. Now Im not entirely convinced UFL will be a massive success yet. Being console only hurts because everyone has a PC/Laptop but not everyone has consoles. Also how long will the grind be for f2p to get a meta team/Ronaldo? The gameplay doesnt have to be better than Fifa. It just needs to be close enough to compete where the casuals wont be able to even tell the difference. Anyway I havent played a football game in years so I dont know why Im even commenting 😂

They just need to make some sort of menu grind. It's important to keep players engaged and take a break from the gameplay without leaving

I saw people played 80-90 games in two days! That shows some people don’t want to sit on menus of a football game and do nothing.

As someone thats preordered fifa games since 2014 this is the first year is the first i havent purchased the game in 10 yrs i waited for it to be free on ea pass but this has potential and i hope ufl and 2k fifa push ea to get there shit together

I only played for about an hour total but I really enjoyed it and thought it showed a lot of promise for a first try. It will take support and I’m here for it.

Menus are amazing. Graphics are also good imo. Really happy that it’s free to play and not pay 2 win. But the gameplay was bad. This should be the FIFA killer, as FIFA needs competition.

I agree with most of what you said Nick but I really don’t think a free to play game needs SBC content, if the gameplay is good we don’t need a hardcore menu grind because they will realise that is where they will make money and follow EA and stop caring about the gameplay

Is it just me who didn’t think manual tackling was that good? When I press the tackle button the reach of the tackle is so small, also so many times I’m manually running to intercept a pass and it goes right past my player

People are capping. If you want to play UFL you may as well play Dream Soccer on mobile. Basically same thing. There’s still a lot of work to be done. Atm it’s LIGHT YEARS away.

I really hope they focus on offline modes too because if they take the Konami route I won't touch the game there has been an absolute 200% focus in the gacha mode for the past couple of years and it's the most unbalaced and boring mode ever made. I miss the days where FIFA worlds was played with real teams and the player skill was needed now all you need is a credit card.

2K Fifa will be the only true “competitor” to EA FC, The Future for UFL is that it won’t be Profitable enough when EA or 2K inevitably come around with a Buyout/Merger offer they can’t refuse UFL’s Biggest investors will want to cash in their chips and get their ROI’s because they don’t care about the game just their bottom lines and pressure them to accept the offer, Which they will & the Best of UFL will live on in the winning bidder’s game

I'd like to see the game come to PC, not only on console.. I mostly play on PC and it would suck having to buy an online subscription for a console, just for 1 game. Unless if someone can confirm you can play without the PSN subscription?

a lot of casuals are not gonna be buying FC26 or even FC25 if GTA VI releases next year maybe when it goes in discounts but not gonna pre order for sure.

As long as they don't release a "new game" every year, get the licenses and fine tune graphics this game has a great chance

It needs a lot of work but it also has a lot of potential. They need to keep up with the communication. I believe that will be their only way.

UFL need to make sure there will be EDIT MODE, so people can create real teams and real competitions. And why they had to make it look like FIFA.

Haven't played fifa in 10 years and just got FC 24 a few days ago. Don't remember fifa being this janky. The controls suck, optimization sucks, competitive sucks. Forgot to mention, FC 2024 is the most P2W game I've ever played and it's not even close. I really hope UFL is different.

UFL was an open beta. It still had way more consistent gameplay than EAFC 24. Just let that sink in.

I started playing FC24 this week after it was free on playstation+, I played 10 games and I´m done. You can´t play football in this game, where is the midfield?? There is no option to play through the defense, you have to ping balls from side to side and go down the side, every time I try to go through the midfield my players are just so passive, shit game.

loved the attacking ai...with more fluid animations/passes etc..this game could really be good

Obviously gameplay had some issues and bugs but after spending a few hours learnings I actually really like it. The menus are incredible also. They will definitely need some good game modes too if they wanna compete because both EA and Efootball are awful in that department

I didn’t mind the gameplay. It wasn’t good but it wasn’t boring and pifa is. Felt much more rewarding and like you had to actually do things yourself rather than skill spam and let ai do the rest

It should be, eafc24 is not in a playable state it’s time to get good on the other game. Eafc24 can’t be fixed next year. The other is going to get better slowly. Ea is this the only game that gets worse every now and then. Clear

30:31 the biggest take of this video. "You can't critique UFL the same way you critique EA". They don't have as big of budget, as much as workforce, as much as experience and as much of technology as EA Sports in making football video game and UFL is still in an open beta. It's not their final form and UFL can get much better in the future. No matter how bad of opinion you have for this game, these 2 positive takes outweigh every negative aspects of the game (it's not an excuse for Striker Inc. to be complacent, you guys have much work to do still) : 1) It's free and I don't have to spend extra 60 bucks every year for the same poop game (and I don't even live in the West so I literally save a grand in 4 years time because of my currency) 2) UFL creates competition in the football video game market. At the end of the day, UFL might not be for everyone but for some people who really like UFL, it means they'll play UFL much more than other game and EA for the first time ever have to put an actual effort in bringing back those people that they have lost

Lack of responsiveness when playing this and the servers were terrible it took almost five minutes to find a game.

24:15 I hate when people say the fifa 19 first time shots were undefendable, had some friends that were way worse in attack but gk movement was so fast in this game that i couldn't score first time shot for most of the game cuz I needed to bait them first that im shooting far post first time strike and needed to go for the near post. So I feel like in this game u could defend it

sounds like VFL is going to be too difficult for the casual player, who by the way are the silent majority of the player base. For that reason, VFL will unfortunately fail.

Konami's EFootball (PES) is now a free game after copy and paste release every year. They knew none of the developers were improving the game engine, animations, collisions..etc. So they did the right thing, Free game and introduce EAs formula ...micro transactions. They still make money with just copy and paste with minor changes. UFL will do the same. Shit of a game with micro transactions. Robotic, horrific collisions..etc but people will play it.
