World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars completely disprove this video. Geography proved no obstacle for the US to destroy Japan, North Korea and Indochina. The US would quickly deploy troops to deal with China and, while perhaps not easily beat it, still quickly take them out of Japan and into mainland China where most of the war would occur. The video is also laughable by suggesting China could sink US warships so easily. No, it can't. US warships stationed in the South China Sea in fact have a higher chance of sinking Chinese warships and even destroy much of the Chinese navy. China can win a war of attrition, at the cost of devastating itself, but that's about it.

Feels like everytime I watch one of these "USA vs ___" Usa would always win and people would argue about it. I personally think that both America and China are great countries, but most people think China is a place of dead dogs.... :3

This is a fun video, but it has less filling than a poptart. To assume that allies on both sides would sit idly by while two superpowers duked it out for months is a little naïve. It would be difficult to really factor in each nation and what they could accomplish for their respective allies, but it would make for a nice mini-series to explore the subject. I'm sure you'd be up to the task, though.

Overall, great video, obviously a lot of time and thought into it. My only piece of constructive criticism, if you decide to make a new updated video, is that this video was under the impression that war broke out suddenly with no time to prepare. But most major wars, especially this one, would start with a lot of buildup and posturing. Maybe do a scenario in which the US and China had months to strategically move around troops before the start.

The US would block any oil entering China by sea and also try to take out pipelines inland. In adition the reserve holdings of oil. This would have crippled the chinese production and after a while become a problem for the military.

I have to say, most parts of this video seems right, however, you forgot about peoples will for the war and how fast eproduction speed could happened during the war. China is well known as word manufacture,,and it has the largest ship produce capacity in the world, so, if there is a war to be happening, they can quickly pulse all surveillant production line and shifting them to military usage. which means, Chinese number of ship is not just like what you are looking at now, and not to mention, even nowadays, china is producing 1 war ship every month, they are building 1 aircraft carrier, 2 missile battle ships, and 2 smaller defense ship, and a few different subs, and this is just for peaceful time. at same time they are still have world most capacity ship production line. if you think it how much ship and how fast they can produce ships during the war time? don't forget this is one of the reason why USA, won the WW2. same to their other weapons, don't just look how many missile they have now, cause china is different with any other countries USA had attacked in last 60 years. china is the world manufacture, this title is not only give china advantage to produce consumer good, it also give china advantage during war time to replace damaged weapons. and not to mention, when the war started, the Chinese government can just call state emergency, so all the consumer resources will give the priority to military usage. in that case, the china will just turn into a giant weapon manufacture in a bout couple weeks. and how could American to compare to that? even you know you can win, but how much will USA willing to sacrifice? how much American people are willing to put up with? if they know they are going to lose their living standards , a lot of consumer products are going to rise up 100%or more, and a lot of their children are going to die during the war, and not to mention, this war is not about saving the USA ass, is only about to stop china to grow up or stop china to occupy the whole south china Sea to help other SEA countries like Vietnam,which was another communist country and fight with USA 40 years ago, Philippine who was against USA 20 years ago, die for protecting Taiwan? which is not even USA's business, or protecting Japan? which had war with USA in WW2, and some of jananese are still hate USA? I really doubt that all american are willing to sacrifice that much to do so. on the other side, majority of chinese are willing to fight for their nations survival, even it means to lose a lot of business or living standard, which communist are really good at how to organize this things during war time. dont forget china wasnt a free market 30 years ago, everything was controlled and distributed by peoples basic needs, and everyone was working for government for produce exactly what government needs, but, USA, has never got this style of life, and never had this kind of thought. the government has to pay for every weapon to use for the war, china is simply produce with all resources they have. so, who will last longer? china is communist party running state, for last 70 years, Chinese had been reunited thought by the government, that china need to stay strong together or fall together, just like WW2, so, no one in china wanna this happens again. but, how many American are willing to fight this war? not mention USA is democracy country, such a big scale attack need to go through bot parliament, that will take a lot of argument, especially those companies who have business in china. sum up, there is no need to worry about the war between china and USA, because either of these two countries can afford the consequences. unless there is really necessarily situation like China is attacking USA bases, or Australia, which has strong ally to usa,which I still doubt USA will joint the war straight away, just look at WW2, when the whole world was in the war, USA was just selling weapons to both sides to make money, the only reason USA attack is because they got hit by JAPAN....and before that, they were selling oil to Japan for long time.. money is what USA want, not losing life. and will china stupid enough to attact USA land or base for none necessarily reason? I think not enough value was placed in B2, B52 and drone strikes against mainland Chinsse targets. I believe China would have the upper hand in the earlier stages but eventually the US would secure air superiority and then proceed to implement a naval blockade the likes we have never seen. Naval blockades done a lot of damage to Germany's war efforts in both World Wars. The naval blockade would hurt the US just as much as they are reliant on trade with China, but cutting China off from the world would hurt it even more. China is the world's largest net exporter, so while it would hurt a lot of other countries, a blockade would likely cripple the Chinese economy. Ultimately it would be the naval blockade and not military losses that would force China to the negotiating table. A land invasion is out of the question. There is simply no way that the US would put boots on Chinese soil. They'd be overwhelmed.

It seems in a fully conventional war between the US and China, the US may be able to retain control of the Pacific and defend her homeland but wouldn't be able to defeat China and it would likely end in a stalemate with severe economic impacts on both economies. It seems the only way the US could occupy China (why they would want to do this I don't know) is to have all of her allies and new ones including India taking part in the invasion, even then it's doubtful they could succeed for long. It's likely Russia would intervene at some point to maintain China's borders and the war could expand into Europe and elsewhere as the US and allies now face a two front war. This is basically a WW3 scenario that would dwarf WW2 in scope and we all know nukes are going to get involved pretty rapidly if the US starts losing aircraft carriers.

The scenario may also involve a massive economic blockade by several Western countries. And even if China manages to achieve a military victory in the Pacific, it would probably end up totally isolated in economic terms from the West, that would probably destroy its economic growth.

In the case of a possible 'not too distant future' conflict between the USA and China - there is one - very - key word, that I failed to hear in the presentation. What is the word? Experience. The Chinese Navy and Army have little or no experience in waging a modern war or even a limited Military campaign. The U.S. Navy - and Army/Marines have far more (recent) experience than the Chinese. I suggest that the amount of experience in combat situations would favor the U.S. in a conflict between the two Powers. The technology of the Chinese arms does not have the 'battle tested' factor going for it either. All the training and war games practice suddenly change when somebody is actually shooting at you.

Realistically, any US vs China wildfire would quickly spin out of control -- meaning WW3. I can't see how any major nation can avoid taking active military sides in that one, including the major African powers. Maybe Brazil can just manage to sit on the sidelines - *just* . Everywhere else outside Latin America, sucked into that whirlpool.
