I get job offers from other companies all the time in the corporate world and it’s normal. If my company doesn’t match offers I go for a competitor and everyone should do the same thing
I think what Stew said was fair but for 1 Season 11 has no content, what are content creators supposed to do for this year? 2. Valve didn’t make Hi-Rez announce Smite 2 this early in dev which has lead to more people leaving and being turned off by how slow things are going and 3 competitors are good for smite this will be the kick in the pants to get their shit together. Stew said he didn’t like that Valve has the platform and control over what game gets seen on the front page but Valve has gone over how their game recommendations are decided it’s all based off of what games you play. If you play a bunch of free to play games you see free to play games if you play shooters you see shooters this system is so fair it doesn’t even take into consideration what the reviews are on the game. If you truly believe that valve can't just recommend you games from devs that have paid them extra to do so youre in for a rude awakening to the reality capitalism.. of course they eill say its all and only based on preferences ans they have no control over it, but only gullible people would actually believe that.
bud i have literally talked to a game dev on the daily and he has told ppl multiple times, you need to pay steam to start being advertised beyond the basic recommendation feature. i literally spent a year looking for a game like it to play and steam never showed me it once because they arent paying for advertising till 1.0 is released and steam fucks them for it
Mate smites been around for over 10 years and still hasn't succeeded. It never will. Look at smite 2 first weekend literally had 15 thousand players which isn't great and weekend 2 just over 5 thousand that's some drop off. Dead in the water.

It's insanely out of touch to claim ownership of players when you have neglected the pro community for years. The post about the canceled lan even proves it: you didn't think to communicate that plans fell through and there wasn't going to be a lan? It's really a shame how mismanaged the SPL has been, great talent on both the player and caster side squandered by upper management constantly dropping the ball. Did they really think DKO was going to do well? Did they expect that people wouldn't lose interest in smite with the year long hiatus? Why even announce smite 2 when it is so clearly not far enough along to be released anytime soon? Just insanely bad decisions the last few years, if they were in any other job they would have been fired by now after messing up so many times
things is HiRez like most game dev companies are greedy they wanted to get a slices of the Platform Fighter, Trashy Mobile game, Autochess and ccg pies that they spend so much money chasing dollars instead of making their main money maker better. All around horrendous decisions and treatment of their pro community is what led to the current issue Stew is now blaming other companies of "poaching" for and I don't think the revertin of 9.5 will change much
Who even asked for smite 2? All I've ever heard is we need more bans, game modes and more balance changes. I don't believe it thateven one person asked for this shit after 7 years of buying skins
I don't even fully understand how they could be 'poached' like PBM said none of them owe Hi rez/smite anything... It's especially funny when multiple creators have been saying for years how hi rez should do more deals with it's creators.
Well just because you don't owe someone anything doesn't mean you can't be hunted. It happens all the time where someone will offer a talented worker more than they currently have. That's just how it is. It's not really bad since it encourages employers to treat their staff well but for the company that's losing the talented people they need it's scary. Now it's true they could make better deals and have made better decisions but it's also true that huge companies have so much more to work with.
I feel like this is ploy to keep content creators you guys don’t have to feel bad for moving to a different game. Hirez has shown they don’t care about pros or content creators and at that the player base either the amount of times there been basic feed back that they ignore is a crazy amount this game is dead because of lack of management and greed. It sucks because I think the tweet has two or three major points to it, some of them are great and pretty insightful to how Valve could have an advantage straight up when it comes to putting out games as competition to existing games on their platform. Like, that sucks for HiRez that if someone through steam pays 100 bucks for gems they get 70% or whatever it is, but if Deadlock comes out and is competitive and gets 100 bucks for their currency they just get 100 bucks. Is it nature of the beast, just the way it is, and need changing? Nah probably not. Didn't hirez have their own launcher and people complained it sucked so they switched? (I'm genuinely asking, I remember there being a launcher for smite, I dont remember why its gone). But Poaching content creators (not hired by hirez), pro players (recently fired by hirez), and players (nature of competition in gaming) CANNOT POSSIBLY HAPPEN. They *(YOU, FINEOKAY, PBM, GRAVE, ETC)* OWE STEVE/HIREZ NOTHING, you are not hired by them, you are not salaried by them anymore, and honestly they dropped you guys like fucking flies, especially since Smite 2's first alpha was cool, and then the second alpha was like "oh this is what gets done in a month? we need 2 years of work on this game and smite 1 already had talks about being dropped....." If PBM is right and its just sympathy bait, so be it i guess, but holy shit it's crazy to me because I really don't think poaching is even POSSIBLE in this case, even if it was the case that Valve employees were sniping you guys in group chats and private talks... Would he consider it any different if all of you smite pros decided to make a LoL Smite tournament or some shit to see the guys switch over and practice and play something in the same competitive sphere but a different game also owned and contained in its own little launcher? It isnt a smite partner or anything, but its the same concept imo? RIOT broke free and has their own launcher doesnt need to pay fees for it, Smite does... if you guys started playing, advertising, and trying to get the other smite people to play LoL, is it the same?
I can imagine HiRez and Titan Forge is also struggling financially, like many companies are in this economy. During covid, people had nothing better to do except watch streams and play games. Now, we are back to a "normal" life of people going back to school, work, and more. Now, companies and businesses are struggling due to the current economic environment. Im not surprised to see people at HiRez to get defensive about potential loss of pro players
The answer is yes because Hi-Rez is making it easy. It’s not even a Long Con. Valve is simply making a better, balanced, and more fun game and basing its trajectory off of smite’s mistakes.

Deadlock will take over Smite easily. But Smite is pretty small to begin with. Valve is not paying the Smite people to try the game obviously, they don't have to do it, they might invite some people for some good feedback, since Smite is similar to Deadlock.

I went to the Dead Lock videos FineO talked about. Read the comments. Most of them are extremely positive and are actually looking forward to the games release and public testing. Unsure of what comments he was talking about, it does look like TF2 and is not a smite killer 😂

It’s funny hi rez because I’m pretty sure 99% of all smite content creators and pro players have wanted to create content or play professionally in another game. You laid off your entire pro league. What did you expect? For everyone to sit around and wait for the chance that smite 2 is really good?

This just shows smite knows they killed their IP and that Smite 2 is going to be dead on arrival… I have seen very few people positive about smite 2 that are not needing it for their lively hood…. Outside of smite 1 creators everyone else is saying how dog the game is and I don’t think the alphas are very fun
