Sachin did it against a much higher class of bowlers. Sachin also was in a poorer India side so carried the team and had much more pressure on him to score runs. It was also a fairer battle between bat and ball in Sachins days especially in odi's. Now it's bigger bats, smaller grounds, flat wickets, fielding restrictions, only 2 bouncers in the over, free hits etc. Sachin was the master. Comparing two greats would be injustice purely. I have seen both of them bat at their early age. Trust me. I used to have Orgasm watching sachin's stroke play. But Virat's one doesn't interest me at all. Sachin wasn't great for statistics. There was a time when sachin was compared with various players Eg: Dravid, Sehwag especially when sehwag was at the peak of his career but sachin played in an Era when there were fine bowlers for eg: Wasim Akram, Donald, Mcgrath, Waqar Yunus, Shane warne, muralitharan, Akhtar, Ambrose, Walsh etc which makes him special. Batting in 1990s was much tougher as the pitches were extremely bowler friendly in those days. Moreover there were some sensational bowlers to exploit the conditions. Teams like sri lanka west indies pakistan were as good as any. Now even bangladesh team has a better ranking than sri lanka and west indies. Cricket needs more competition to survive. Kohli is just thriving on the lack of competition , incompetent bowlers and flat batting decks. Also he hasnt played much outside asia as yet. He dint do well in world cup 2015 in australia n new zealand as he cant bat like sachin outside asia. He can only bat on flat decks. All his centuries while chasing have come on belters. Moreover, today's batsmen have the ability to hit risky shots like scoops, switch hits to stay ahead of the bowlers. Also, today's cricketers have a lot more pressure to perform because of social media. Each innings they play is evaluated. You can't just say that today's cricketers wouldnt have survived the old eras because humans always find a way to coup with every challenge. Sachin used to play when pitches were tough like in Sri Lanka, West Indies, pitches were fast and bouncy like in Australia, New Zealand, Africa and swing with heavy atmosphere like in England. Now everything has changed, also we now get to hear records made by batsman, hardly hear recently any bowler reaches a particular milestone.

Stupid Comparison, sachin played when there were more restrictions in chasing in terms of fielders outside/inside the ring. Nowadays we don't find a bowler in any team who has got 300plus wickets in test or 400 wickets in ODIs but back in Sachin era even the 3rd spell bowlers had 300+ plus wickets with pace above than 145kph ~160kph. Virat is batting king in mediocre bowlers.

With due respect to Sachin Tendulkar I strongly believe as batsmen will enjoy the score he did while chasing..... So my Vote goes to Virat here..... But those 24 years the way he has played at top level and his down to earth personality is the reason why Sachin cannot be replaced by anyone.... it's my personal opinion.....

This happens only in India, we are so privileged to have both the legends in their own rights, very rare for a country to have, we are super lucky in that respect. But what we guys do make comparison pull each other down saying who is better than whom with our aggressiveness.Cant we just sit n enjoy both those legends who represented our country, kaun btr hai yeh matter nahi karta dono India se hai yeh matter karta quoting kaleen bhaiya
