I have had nothing but bad experiences with Virgin. I had very unstable connection speeds even on ethernet connected devices. I suffered many outages which is incredibly frustrating. At one point I had no service for 5 days. Customer service didn't seem to car so as soon as my contract was up, I left. I have now joined BT Full Fibre and the service is amazing. There's nothing premium about the Virgin at all in my opinion.
Agree. Virgin does fantastic deals and has fast BB. However, the customer service is poor too. I frequently lost connection to WiFi. I'm getting NOW BB installed next week. It's only 67mbs as opposed to 250 with Virgin. But it will still cater for me. Virgin retentions have been calling me non stop with deals which are so tempting but I haven't caved in lol and going with Now. It's only a 12 month contract too.
I've been with virgin media for 10 years, the wifi on there new router has compatibility issues and alot of my devices aren't getting the speeds that I pay for, I'm currently on 350mbps for £34 a month with discounts but my contract is up in November and I'm definitely leaving VM. Also there call centres have moved and its a pain trying to communicate with the person on the other side and its frustrating when reporting about the issues with the broadband
They ruined my new years by forcing me into a £40 package by saying if I don’t accept it I won’t be eligible for any discounts after my contract then I was told that’s a lie and whoever said that was incorrect. Suddenly I thought about how my January was ruined and how I tried getting back to my original £32 and that is took over 2 weeks to go back to the package as I couldn’t pay £40 every month with everything going on. This thought started an obsessive depression about how my January was ruined from all the stress and how I’d wake up early morning just to call and how I’d go to bed early from the stress of their customer support.
Had Virgin off and on for years until I dropped them this year. Virgin is very reliable but wi fi strength and speed were average compared to say BT. With Virgin I used to have the hub 3 100mb download package, On a good day I'd get 30mb download speed over wi fi. When I switched to the BT's 67mb package Id usually get 50mb+ download speeds and the signal would reach much further BUT not as reliable as Virgins with random drop outs.
@@jam_1138 I was quite impressed with the BT wi Fi speeds of 50 mb+....but then I was comparing to Virgins. Both hubs we're in the same room but my house is Victorian with pretty thick internal walls
@@jam_1138 If I ever go back to virgin I'll probably do the same as you. However, I shouldn't have to. Virgins equipment should be upto standard. No point giving you a Porsche with Fiat 500 engine.
@@mardea587 I have the latest SuperHub 5 and ordered the new Virgin TV Stream box. The Stream Box only works with the Super Hub 3 so I had to downgrade the router and in the end I couldn’t get the Super Hub 3 to connect to the internet, so the new Stream box wouldn’t work either. Their equipment and setup really is a complete mess.
Do not enter this nightmare guys, I contracted a sim mobile plan from them and even after canceling the contract and paying everything, with the attendant confirming that everything is settled and canceled (after 50 minutes on the phone), I just received an email with a bill to be paid next month. Here we go again to more stress
Can’t believe that there is worse customer service provider than sky, just spent 40 mins on the phone ,passed from pillow to post and got absolutely nowhere 😡
Getting all sports, movies, M250 for £58pm after haggling. It's been a few months now. However I want to completely cancel Virgin as prices are going up. I don't mind sticking with Broadband only but contemplating BT. I don't even watch normal tv so even though it's a good package, I would rather pay 20 something as opposed to 50 something
@@ttube111 BT is good although you might not get 250ish Mbps for 20 something. To save money with a reward card, see our links to BT on this page: broadbandsavvy.com/bt-deals-for-new-customers
@@broadbandsavvy Thanks for your reply. BT seems expensive. I'm happy to go with Now TV for £21pm for 67mb, just not sure how strong the wifi will be. They are guaranteeing speeds of 47 which seems enough for my household.
i love virgin media , been with them for 27 years now , started on diamond cable then ntlworld which i still have email address ........... i phone once a year for best deal never had much problem , bills can be confusing , will never go to sky as cant get the internet speed ............
VM worst broadband provider in UK and I have had nearly all of them Sky is brilliant go service not higher speeds but near advertised 50 mpbs is the best speed tested with 3 diff websites 50 gets 50, VM 100mb gets 30 mb and their customer service is the worst
@@dale-fi1fi nobody agrees on anything in the uk you should know that I've only used VM, Sky and TalkTalk fibre and VM is by far the worst. TalkTalk comes second and sky take the advantage by far If you're struggling honestly just get a booster
VIRG med is absolutely the worst service provider in the UK. They are thieves with the poorest customer service ever provided. DO SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU.
