Nice review! I've owned an SV650 and driven an MT07, both really nice bikes respectively. Different takes on what a naked bike should be, the SV650 had a better driving position for my height, but I did miss the look and sometimes wheelbase (for the wheelies hahaha) of the MT07. Commenting for the algorithm so that your video gets out there ;)

Thank you! I appreciate the support:) SV650 has great looks. In a world full of Optimus Primes (cough cough MT-07), a more restrained design like the SV650’s is appreciated.

I have a 23 Z 650 I love it, I looked at the MT 07 but I am a Kawasaki man. Value for money with the Kawi is very good I paid $ 7,749 so it fit my beer budget I will say the new GSX 8S does look tempting

Bro I’m 6’4, 32 years old with no riding experience. I want the mt07 but you think I’d be better on the sv650? I’m just concerned about my weight at 230-240 being a problem for mt07 suspension

Suzuki sv650 drove Yamaha to make the mt07, plus it’s a V twin engine, sounds better with more torque!!

I've owned the OG Kawi 650 and ridden a few SVs.... I gotta say overall the Yammie comes out ahead -- more modern (but not overwhelmingly so) engineering has its place. The Good News is that you really cannot go wrong with any of these.

@@emadreviews Of course. I have a somewhat vested interest as well.... Time moves on and I'm now up in Mount Vernon but I've seen Dave build SUB from its inception when I rode a Sprint RS here from Rode Island 11 years ago -- I look forward to meeting you maybe we can do some joint stuff sometime :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1XrD2Kx2Q6Q.html Peace.

@@emadreviews Hey I just read about the new 'Zook have you peeped it out yet or is that just a slightly different class of bike like the Duke 790?

I believe that this is the 2022 version of the mt07, the 2023 version has pretty much all the tech features you would want including the tft display, quick shifting, abs, traction control, and lift control (some of these might be wrong depending on the trim level of the bike you get). But this review is fantastic for showing off literally everything that this kind of bike which new/upcoming riders such as myself would likely buy second hand.

It appears for 2023 they only made two changes; the addition of a 5 inch TFT screen, and pre-wiring the quick shifter, but without the actual equipment itself.

Are you in the United States? You said the Kawasaki Z650 only has LED front and rear lights, and the turn signals are halogen which is incorrect. It has all LEDs, including the turn signals. I had a Z650 and the all LEDs was one of the things I loved about it. Ironically enough I upgraded to a z900, which does not have LED turn signals. They are halogen. That was really disappointing to upgrade bikes, and downgrade in the light department. Depending on country this can change though.

Thanks for watching! I saw the halogen bulb in the US on a Z650. A demo model nonetheless. Maybe the ones that are actually sold are LED like you said. It’s overal weird that they choose to make some LED ones for some other countries and some halogen bulb. It shouldn’t depend on local laws rather the manufacturer should have enough respect for the customers to go all out and make all of their bikes equally nice.

The SV has the most power restricted that can be brought out with an ECU flash/tune. SV is not ideal for long wheelies due to its v-twin motor starving the front cylinder for oil while lofted. I think the Mt and Sv both sound great with at least a slip-on exhaust. Sv doesn't look as good but better quality.

Your review seems very centered on design, reputation and perception of the three models compared. Missing entirely the mechanical marvel that is the 270* crank parallel twin configuration. The Kawasaki has a conventional piston arrangement but enjoys the packaging benefits of the p twin, while the V (more correctly L) twin Suzuki benefits from its firing sequence at the expense of packaging. The weight savings is noted but the real magic of the parallel twin is simplicity (one cylinder head, one timing chain, one intake and one exhaust cam etc.) and logistics (side by side throttle bodies allow one shaft to synch throttle position). Stuff like that can why the Yamaha works better, is lighter and more trouble free. This review deals with 2022 models, since then Suzuki (and industry giant Honda) has brought out a mid displacement 270* P twin, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. Or maybe an admission that Yamaha got it right a decade ago with the 2014 FZ07. Love the idea of Seattle Used Bikes, if there were such in my realm I’d become a nuisance as a shop hang around.

I have a Duke 390. Nice fun bike but growing it. As soon as yahama puts more electronics including traction controle and rider modes like all of its competitors I will pick one up. Unfortunately it never happened again for 2024. The mt09 got the upgrade. Hopefully 2025 Yamaha finally will update its mt07 🤞

@@emadreviews not a huge fan of German made vehicles or bikes. I mean they’re nice yes. But maintenance costs are too much for me. I think Japan still has the edge on dependability and cheaper maintenance ✌️
