Now, for Day Nine of the Spring Cleaning Spree 2024 there are some projects in our bathroom that most of us do not do on the regular. Hopefully this video will have some helpful reminders for you when you go to clean your shower head, faucet, and bathroom drains. I recommend having a bucket, gloves, and a couple extra microfiber towels on hand when taking care of these tasks. Especially when it comes to cleaning your drain trap, because you may come across some gunk and grime and you’ll want to protect yourself and your cabinetry. If you unscrew the pipes, be prepared to address any leaks. If the seal is worn out, or the pipes were forced together at an angle, etc., they may drip once screwed together again. Test by filling the sink with hot water, then draining. It's not too hard to fix if there is a problem, but be sure you're able and willing to troubleshoot before tackling it. A tidy homeowner may not be confident working on the plumbing, and there's no guarantee things will go back together as easily as they came apart. That said, it is as simple as cleaning out the p-trap to fix most clogged or slow-draining sinks!

I grew up with 2 sisters and 1 bathroom. I feel they should add how to clean a bathroom sink trap to the high school curriculum.

I think that cleaning in general should be added to school curriculums. I never learned because I had maids growing up. Now I'm 48 & don't know how to even mop properly!

Do not use CLR on or near a stainless steel sink, the finish on ours is wrecked from a spill.

Short cut for cleaning shower heads n sink faucets. Put some white vinegar in a baggie n insert the faucet or shower head into the bag until it’s covered then tape or tie the baggie around the top of faucet or shower head n let sit for a couple hours. The longer the better. 😉 I find this is much easier for those who don’t have the strength in our hands to remove faucets n shower heads. 😊

Or just use a plunger, or a snake. When you pull it apart then put it back together, be prepared for it to leak in the future.

Alcohol is typically used to disinfect something and fit glass or shiny surfaces. Hope this helps! 😊

I lost part of the Up/down button for the Game Boy Advance, and the reason why I was even using the sink at the time was because it was dirty. And it unfortunately fell down the drain…. I wonder if it’s still there 🤔😂

Stayed at Pop Century at Walt Disney World in November 2022 and the bathroom sink wouldn't drain, I took the plug out and pulled out what must have been weeks, if not months of gunk, hair and who knows what else. I took photos of it and took those to the front desk, all I got was an apology, two free meal vouchers and a raging stomach bug which may have well been down to the filthy sink. Disney still refuses to service their very expensive hotel rooms nearly two years on. Someone needs to show the housekeepers this video.

The question is, what do you do if the sink stopper doesn't come out after you disconnect the stuff underside. Trying to clean a slow draining sink after moving into a new apartment...
