Today I discuss ISO 6425 certification and watches that meet it and some that don’t.
Not all watch brands state if they meet the ISO 6425 for their Dive watches so its up to you to do your homework and find the right Dive watch for your needs.

Im going to risk of saying that most of even best diver watches won't ever be used in the deep water environment but just a fact of knowing that they would makes me happy that it isn't just a fouls advertisement and those watches could actually go though it.

I am happy that the watch has pretty good temperature, shock and magnetic resistance

I haven’t dove in over 25 years, but I know how tough dive watches are. Great for just about every tough job, or just a beautiful watch (if you like the look) to wear.

Another factor to consider before using the watch for serious diving activity is manufacturer service and age. Old watch without proper service (especially gaskets) and heavily used/abused could fail water resistance; old watch lume also might no longer meeting the standard. I have my 1st gen Seiko Monster serviced by Seiko every 2-3 years. For it's age (>15 years), I won't be taking it for scuba diving despite being serviced. I won't hesitate using my newly acquired Citizen NY0085 for any water activity. Thanks for covering this topic.

Excellent information, thank you for this! G Shock Frogman is the only ISO approved G Shock. I have a Citizen Eco-Driver BN0150-28E Promaster Diver on its way to me this week. 👍🏻

Did you mention that dive watches that have passed the ISO test can put ' Diver's watch ( & then the depth rating)' on the dial? My Certina has it ( also my Citizen & Seiko).

I hate it when info like this is put out as if it matter. ISO is basically a money making thing. Invented testing for alot of different products. The brand pays them a fee on every product they make in order to be able to say ISO certified. Basically paying them al licensing fee on their own brand and passing the cost to the customer. ISO certified has nothing to do with a dive watch being "legit" or not. A brand called Oceaneva has no ISO certs. Instead they just send watches to the bottom of the ocean for real world testing. I would rather t have that and not have ISO cost built into what I pay for the product.

Rolex isn’t iso certified either but test their watches in a similar fashion. Some watch companies don’t test and only post a water resistance.

@@coldpizzawatchreviews virtually non test. Only 6 brands in history since 1960 have sent their watches to deep depths for ocean testing.

The guy covers this right at the start... ISO doesn't certify anything. No one is paying ISO anything. There isn't even a 3rd party accreditation for ISO 6425. There is no such thing as ISO 6425 certification , only compliance.

@@ImAlsoMerobiba Not true. ISO is trademarked. To be used that you must pay and meet their requirements through an audit. Look it up and read about it.
