I had an eye-dentity crisis as a kid because I could never remember what color my eyes were. Turns out gray eyes just reflect a lot of the colors in the room. So they're usually like a slate-blue indoors, but outside without my transition lenses they're green, and in direct white light they're light gray. So while I know my eye color, I don't know what they look like at any given moment.
For the first 15 years of my life, I believed I had blue eyes. Even my parents don't believe me when I tell them they're gray, however also have central heterochromia. -_- They frequently shift from gray to green to blue. They're weird.
My mom used to always laugh when my Grandma got angry with her, as my grandma's eyes would change from green to blue whenever she became angry. I have recently learned that it is because, emotion can cause the pupils to dilate, which then changes the position of the pigments in your Iris, causing the color to change.

I'm sure you have other good qualities besides your eyes! And remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Something you might not like about yourself may be something someone else finds really nice. At the end of the day, looks don't really matter. I’ve always gotten compliments for my eyes for how..I guess unique they are? Like they have blue around the outside and brown in the middle so it blends into a green from a little distance. But when you get up close that’s when you see how cool it is. (I’m not full of myself I promise! This is one of the few things I can be close to 100% confident about!)
My eyes are pretty interesting, even though they're only brown, it's not dark nor light brown either, it's pretty much a mix of both. Sometimes it can get lighter and sometimes it can get darker.
my best friend's eyes are perfectly in-between blue and green and it's so funny when our group of friends disagrees over what color they are mine are very dark brown, and the color is very smooth all across.
I have the same problem. I say my eyes are teal. When I was young, my eyes had flecks of yellow that made them look very green. I'd like to have that color again.

Can you do a video about unusual eye colors? Mine are navy. Like, they're almost as intensely colored as a 16, but they're blue, not brown. When I was born they were almost black. (My baby pictures aren't cute...) There are tons of really interesting eye colors, and it would be fun to learn more about them.

So, the colour of my eye changes depending on the weather. For exemple, in very sunny days, they are extremely green, but in a cloudy day, they become grey, almost transparent. Does that mean that the coulour is perceived different, or the particles react differently depeding on the conditions of the lighting?
My dad has hazel, mum and sister have brown: I have eyes the colour of oxidised copper with the two “lesser” known variants of heterochromia. I have dark contrasting outer rings , some sectional yellow patches and an inner iris pupil ring too which is why chose my defining colour to be something which gets “less dark” when exposed to the elements. They also change between blue, green and grey depending on the light.

Mine have varied over the years between gray, green, and blue… Which I thought was weird until I got in the military and met a Norwegian guy who could shift his eyecolor at will. His were green when he was happy, blue when he was upset. I guess it works similar to a blush function, or something along those lines. He was never really clear on it, but damn it was awesome to see!
When was the last time I stared (into, not at) someone's eyes? Too long... and I miss him, terribly. He doesn't miss me at all, apparently... even after 39 years of marriage to me. Which is why, when you ask what color my eyes are, instead of answering somewhere between 3 & 4, my first answer is red... from crying.
My eyes are so dark brown they sometimes look black, but they’re beautiful in sunlight. Just because your eyes aren’t super unique doesn’t make them any less beautiful :)
I think all eyes look cool close up. They have different patterns in them and freckles, too. I have green eyes with a dark blue outter ring, a yellow ring by the pupil, and 2 different patterns. They're unique like home made marbles.
I have blue eyes, but God I love when someone has different ones. People tend to have a mix of brown, grey, brown, yellowish and the more I look, I see some completely different colors. I think it's awesome because mine have always the same color.
Brown-eyed mother, blue-eyed father. One brother and two sisters, four kids in total. In order of birth. 1st child Sister green eyes with a ring of hazel. 2nd child Brother blue eyes almost the same light blue color as dad 3rd child Sister blue-eyed with green strips and a hazel ring. 4th child Me brown eyed almost identical in color to mom. A DNA test proved we all have the same mother and father.

This is so interesting! I was told in hospital that a baby‘s eye color will be final when the child is 1 year old. My daughter always had blue eyes but the eyes slowly began to turn green between her 4th and 6th birthday. Genes are weird stuff. My eye color is a „my-body-could-not-decide-ish green-brown“
Yes I was thinking this too!!! I have heterochromia . Unfortunately the most popular videos on it are completely wrong saying that it is due to inbreeding or a concussive force or blindness. But true heterochromia is just a mutation.
Hey! I also have heterochromia. My eyes are a bit dark so it is not easy to see so it was quite the surprise to discover in my teens. And according to my eye tests, I have nearly perfect sight. It is a bit annoying though because it can be difficult to see, people sometimes don't believe me when I tell them.
The outer part of my eyes are a forest green and the inside are a ring of warm brown. So like a more saturated version of 7 on the outside (think like the colour of green moss), and then around 14 on the inside. I believe that counts as Central Heterochromia, which is neat. They look brown until you actually look closely and see they're more a deep forest green with a ring of brown in the middle around my pupils.
This is very interesting! I have a question though: How does someone get two different coloured eyes? My eyes are both different and neither are one pure colour. One is a mix of blues and green's, the other a mix of hazel and green's. I'd love to learn more about how they were made to be like that??

My eyes used to be hazel as i grew up, dominantly brown with a little bit of green. But now, they're almost entirely green. I've also heard that most babies start out with lighter eye color and it gets darker as they get older. But maybe that's a myth because i've seen plenty of evidence suggesting otherwise.

The most important thing is that they work. That being said, there's a strain of brown eyes in my family that even having a number of green eyed people including my own father, I ended up with my boring brown eyes. Very functional though. They bore me but I still love them.
I would describe my eyes like an avocado. They have a dark green ring around them on the outside, my inner eye are a bright lime green that are almost yellow. Then my pupil is the pit of the avocado🤣

Both of my parents have green eyes, I and my brother both have dark-ish brown eyes. Mine is slowly changing into green-ish brown as I'm approaching 30, his stayed the same. If that grade school theory would be correct, both of us would have to have very green eyes, but it isn't the case at all. I think the symphony-theory makes more sense in real-life applications :)

All the eye colours are beautiful and unique...even the eyes of people who have brown eyes 👀. My eyes have a beautiful brown color ( number 13-14) with a thick black circle around it. They show my emotions and they suit me perfectly! 💜 Every time I have a true smile I my face they seam like they are shinning ✨. My eyes are part of who I am and I love them for it.❤

Just because something is common doesn't mean it's not beautiful. Think about dandelions or roses, they are common but also beautiful. Also if you take the time to examine the patterns in your eyes you will see what I mean
my eye color would probably be described as "black" by a lot of people, but if light is shining in them, even if its just sunlight, they turn this really light, *really* pretty milk chocolate color. its freaky to see my eyes two different shades of brown whenever sunlight gets in one but not the other. in other words, eyes are cool!!
Omg I can’t relate more. All my friends said that their first impressions of me were that I could be a serial killer because of my black black black eyes, and now they think that even more because they know me better lol
I joke about my eyes being like a mood ring. They change colors based on my moods and other factors. There is always some green and gold/yellow in them. At times you can see gray/blue in them or brown in some places.

In Elementary school I managed to convince other kids that my eyes change colors based on the temperature lol! I mean almost every day my eyes would change slightly so had to be telling the truth of course 😂! My eyes are mostly brown and dark green but I do get the occasional blue tint and I find it really pretty. Rock those eyes (that was kind of a weird thing to say… just be confident!)

But yeah, like 4th grade me was smart enough to know that nobody would believe me if I said something like my eyes change color based on my emotions so I figured that temperature would work. I’d say something like if they’re really brown then I’m hot, or if there’s some blue then I’m cold, and primarily green meant neutral. People believed it and sometimes my friends would run up to me, get really (like uncomfortably) close to my face just to see my eye color, then declare “Hannah is hot!”. Teachers definitely raised some eyebrows but the kids understood! I’d play along even though I knew I was playing a prank. If somebody said they noticed blue you’d find be fake shivering a few minutes later 😭 oh the good old days… I hope your fairy garden is coming along nicely! ❤️
My eyes are dark blue-gray. How they look depends on ambient lighting. Outdoors they have a blueish cast, but with indoor lights they're purely gray. Eye color is a fascinating thing!

My eyes are usually a dark, nondescript grey in pictures, but in real life are a mosh of grey, blue, and/or green, with two inner rings of light and dark brown. I've been told my eyes change with the scenery, or my outfit. One of my friends told me my eyes turned gold like some sort of Twilight vampire in a certain light, so that's cool, too. All in all, whatever color they may be, I love eyes!
That depends on how you define colour. Does it have to be pigment for it to count or is it whatever your brain says it is. After all there is no way to bypass the brain and all of its biases as far as I am aware.
@GWYNETH MILLER that's kinda similar to mine! My eyes are green/grey/blue with a yellow/amber circle around the pupil. In my left eye the circle is only half and in my right eye it's all around. and there's a thick dark blue circle around my iris. I think my eyes are pretty cool hahah
My eyes are either 11 or 12 on your scale. My dad is Scottish French, red head with green eyes (9). My mom is Korean with brown eyes (15). When I was a kid, I would look at my eyes in the mirror and noticed that it looked like cinnamon sticks lined up. Then, going through my teenage years, a spiral of greenish yellow went through my eyes and made them slightly lighter. I think I started as 13. My oldest son's eye are about a 2, born at about a 1. My daughter's doesn't fall under any, except that she was born at a 1. Currently her eyes are different colors, blue, green, and a little lighter than 11. My youngest son was born with 16 and is about 14-15 now. We said he was born with demon eyes. Their dad was born with blue eyes and now has green, ~9.
I would love to have fiery-ember eyes, or bloody-red ones. But the best option would be having vertical reptile-like pupils, that would look so awesome! Alas, all I've got is just grey-ish and green-ish swampy bog in my eyes instead...
