Stocks, but apart from that I actually keep everything, as I've found that a lot of the preinstalled productivity apps like Notes and Reminders are just a cut above anything I've ever experienced on Android, and it makes collaborating with friends who have iPhones easier. Anything I don't really use I keep in the app library. I admit to being a bit of a digital hoarder, but I do have the storage to support that lifestyle... On my Apple Watch I removed Cycle Tracking because I don't have a uterus. For some reason it isn't on the Watch app store though, so for some reason if I decided to reinstall it, I couldn't. I also tried removing Stocks, but for some reason it's just... not uninstallable on Apple Watch????

I think if you’re able to delete an app, it doesn’t count as bloatware. And you can delete all of these. Lots of Android phones come with useless apps that you can’t delete because they’re installed on the system itself, but Apple lets you delete everything but the very basics (Messages, Phone, etc.). Therefore imo none of these are bloatware

what about carrier bloatware? i can delete it sure. but it´s all still there and counts as bloat, so does apple´s

@@lucash1955 if it’s still there you’re not deleting it, you’re hiding it. Apple’s built-in apps get deleted, they free space, you even have to download them again from the App Store.

⁠⁠⁠⁠@@lucash1955Once you delete an app from Apple (except apps like Messages and Phone), it's entirely gone from the app library. Unlike on Android where you may only be able to disable a carrier app but it'll still stay.

Shortcuts is great! It's really useful and allows for some very interesting ideas. The only problem I have with it is that it's so hard to use being used to actual programming languages. Variables are a mess, and there's no while loop. Still good tho.

Compass is a really, really useful application to have. Its not really bloat if its not taking up any space, or using up any processing time in the background. Ive had a few situations where ive had to navigate with nothing but the compass on my iPhone. Bloatware is really only a massive issue on Windows nowadays. Tons of background processing tasks, crap installed that you never asked for, and advertisements literally built into the start menu for things like Netflix.

I feel like you could refine that list a lot more… for example does home actually need to be an independent app when most of the features are already available in iOS.. like to me some of the apps don’t really need to be apps Apple could’ve integrated it more into iOS itself.

In my humble opinion, bloatware is software that isn't native to the OS but still installed. Things like Facebook or Disney+ being installed on Windows, e.g. All apps discussed in the video are made by Apple for Apple.

Me personally, I use Spotify and Apple Music but I just feel like Apple Music is just much cleaner so I will use Apple Music on any device that is an iPhone for me I feel like you have never seen the clean animations in a song on iOS 17 with the lyrics it’s so satisfying
