Since my PAN become Inoperative I was wonder why some mutual funds like HDFC, ICICI and Kotak were allowing transaction while some others like Axis, Nippon and UTI were rejecting transactions, looks like AMCs those rejecting transactions are not aware of the latest rules regarding inoperative PAN

If you are an OCI ( especially in USA) under the age of 65 with full time work, best to move money OUT of India ASAP to avoid all this red tapism, bureaucracy and dealing with this change of rules every 2 years.. Recently i went after 13 years to my home town Ahmedabad and still struggling to withdraw my mutual funds invested 16 years ago for the very same reason. withdrawing my own investment from post office was a nightmare. and so on with Frozen accounts in Indian banks with KYC ,etc.. If you are retired or going every year different story for you.

Dear Sirs, While I fully appreciate what was provided here, unfortunately emailing to AO or filing a Grievance through IT portal does not get any response even after 2-3 weeks (till now). The grievance filed through IT portal at least gets an acknowledgement but no resolution. However, emails sent to AO (whose email is arrived through the account Jurisdiction) go into a blackhole. Being an OCI and non-Indian Citizen, it is not possible to physically visit the IT office as per the jurisdiction. It is a nightmare to chase them through emails remotely.

If IT dept is delaying issues pertaining to mismatch of PAN/Aadhaar details and sleeping over the issues for years together who is to be penalised - IT dept or poor honest tax payer? Get answer from your IT expert.

Dear expert, is there no option to use income tax portal for NRIs, who have never issued Aadhar ever? Since each and every step it is asking Aadhar to proceed like getting an ePAN

It is not possible to apply for an Aadhar after you have landed in India. They want to see proof that you have stayed for 182 days

What will happen to an resident who had Aadhar and then becomes OCI? My Aadhar is still showing as resident and same with Aadhar.

Hello Sir, as my PAN has become inoperative, as I am an OCI, can I email my copies of PAN and OCI copies to the respective AO, since don't know the mode how to 'intimate'? If yes, will this email id has to be the email id registered in Income Tax India eportal (I don't have any eportal profile, since Indian income is very minimal, no filing required as such)? Regards,

My daughter lives in USA on H1B. She has both PAN and Aadhar but not linked. She doesn't file Returns in India because she has no income here (as she lives in USA). Now, if I do the linking on her behalf (by paying the fee), will there be complications like she should mandatorily file Returns every year in India? Please let me know.

Sir i am a NRI Indian living in Dubai. I had linked my PAN with my Aadhar some time back in Oct 2021. Even despite of this my pan has been blocked. I tried using the income tax portal. But when I put my UAE mobile number into the column provided, i dont get any OTP on this mobile. I tried twice and i failed.
