You speak very eloquently, the difference between contact and connection becomes clear. This is a great video and the question you pose a critical one. Best wishes all the way from Santa Barbara, California💐🥰💐

Thank you muchly for bell ringing for ‘nature connection’ and the 8 Shields Model… together these have transformed my life. I definitely believe these can be woven into FS. 👍🏻…. Im trying to unlock the mystery of how we can weave more nature connection into family in the UK … thank you

Thanks for watching! I feel strongly that FS can nurture threads of connection with the rest of nature rather than just occupying the same space and learning facts about species.

@@ForestSchoolLou absolutely I feel the same about being stuck under a bushcraft parachute devoid of wildlife … its missing the point … I am at the edge of creating something different & that will sit in between Scouting & wildlife trust groups … watch this space 🌈

I've had a break through with connection with the teachers and children at the school I work at I took the for a walk to our local woods and got them to lay down and look up, before hand we had looked at fungi and mini beasts to try and work up the connection and when they looked up mentioned to them about the tree branches replicate the human brain Also watching how at the very top of the trees they're moving when they don't notice they move from the forest floor I understand when you say people look funny at you as it's taken me nearly a year to actually get the class teachers to lay down without worrying about getting *dirty*one teacher said wow its like avator (the movie) is real, a small break through event I thought even though they made a connection with a movie to nature instead of themselves I'll get there in the end The children loved it just total relaxation, focusing on their breathe and in silence to listen

I am at the beginning of my forest school journey in Canada and I am loving your videos so much! We are singing your gratitude song at the end of every session. So I wanted to say thank-you for your super zen videos that cheer me up and inspire me.

Great video!! I will share. I think my practice and myself is a blend of both , but leans more towards Nature Connection.

Love your video - its really interesting, and well explaining, but surely water, rocks or earth are alive too? Thank you.

Thanks for watching! Great question to consider. I guess everyone will have their own thoughts on this. My personal belief is that everything has an energy or spirit flowing through it - so if that is what you mean by 'alive' then I would agree with you, water, rocks and earth all have energy/spirit flowing through them.

Not related for which I apologise but i am curious about how old Lilly Rou (hope i got it right) was when you first got her out in the forest or for walks. I have a 4 mo and she hates carriers and that stops me from taking her out in forests walks. I love your videos btw, and also that you can record with her:)

Thanks for watching! 😀 Lily-Roe has come out for walks pretty much from when she arrived 'Earth-side' (I think she was 5 days old when we went for our first (short) walk). She sounds the opposite to your little one though as she doesn't like being put down in the pram or buggy (or anywhere!) and wants to be carried all the time. Which does make it easier to walk off path, and as she's getting heavier is a good work out for me! I have found that some woodland sites do have better paths than others to get prams/buggies down. I believe you can get 'off-road' buggies too, with bigger wheels. I might have to invest in one of those once she gets too heavy for me to carry all the time! 😀
