yeah i tried to learn ygo with a marincess deck but trying to learn all of the nuances of the game and reading the paragraph of card text turned me off to learning. i started playing the one piece as my first tcg because it was super easy to learn and now i've gotten several friends into it who never played tcgs.
@@ToxicStallGamingskill Issue. Nothing about one piece is appealing to me and I’ve long since stopped caring about anything Disney related. I’ll stick with YGO
@AwsOm3Fac3 Yugi is a much easier to game play. There are more decisions to make any given turn with OP, which makes it inherently more skillful. Definitely a skill issue if you had some problems.
I feel the problem for Yugioh is that it's not very newbie friendly compared to other card games out there. Rush Duels were a course correction for this in Japan, but Speed Duels in the US were not.
Good video , definitely got me over here considering Lorcana because of how good the prizing is and they actually reward players who do really well , me and a bunch of people i know made day 2 and top 128 at YCS indy only to leave with nothing but bragging points for making day 2. One piece prizing is also insane , i just never watched the anime outside of the 4kids version so i dont have an attachment to it but yea yugioh needs to up their prizing by a lot , im glad the player base is finally waking up to this issue on a larger scale vs 10 years ago.
Most of my op locals has never seen the show either. Just a well built tcg. I think the nonexistent prize support was tolerated more because it was compared to more legacy games than itself in mtg and pokemon so they had an excuse. When multiple brand new games are outperforming you, it starts to show cracks in the armor.
In defence of the new Star Wars Unlimited TCG as compared to the other ones that died. This one is a legit TCG and not some dice game. Also has an amazing play pattern. It's very tempo based. Would recommend if you guys haven't tried it yet. Though if you want competitive, I would recommend waiting until the events start popping off next year. Right now the only downside to the TCG is there are no official big tournaments yet.
I quit yugioh it was just a money pit chasing 1 tier 0 meta to the next just losing money you can't sell the old cards for new ones I'm actually making like alot of money just enjoying and playing pokemon and selling stuff when I'm done its been a blast
not gonna lie, you guys sound like you'd enjoy flesh and blood. i'm not a yugioh player, it was my first cardgame when it started and my gateway into other TCG's especially MTG. played mtg for decades but now because comp play is kinda dead i switched over to Flesh and Blood. very intense gameplay as well as fast paced, no mana or energy issues. games aren't decided by a single turn but are grindy and require squeezing every bit of value out of your cards. good prize support its made to be played in local communities and not online, good support for the store. been a refresher since i was missing a competitive edge.
Yu-Gi-Oh is the TCG arguably the most ready for the future. They have two apps with hundreds of millions of downloads with thousands of concurrent players at all times. These new up and coming TCGs don't have this. While effectively paying players and giving good prize support is a good short term strategy, it remains to be seen if this will work over any long period of time.
That's why they need to bribe players with gem handouts to get sign up new players idk man I showed my friends and they wanted to play the fun decks they made and they had no where to play without toxic otk/ftks or tier 0 metas then the physical is just dying if you look at it My local card shops stopped selling yugioh singles tournaments have been less and less and the price of cards are at an all time high and go to an all time low
You couldn’t pay me enough to care about anything One Piece related. I’m sure many people feel the same. One Piece will come and go. Yugioh will be around long after all your card games are gone.
Yu-Gi-Oh just celebrated 25 years, the game is fine. OP and Lorcana are like Tamagotchi, pet rocks, and beanie babies, all fads. Within 5 years they will go to the way side.
OPTCG just got over a couple of the speed bumps to survival that killed its oldest brother Dragon Ball TCG and broke both legs of the middle child Digimon TCG. OP survived to its second anniversary without being carried over the threshold on a stretcher like Digimon, and OP08 which was supposed to be the set that would explode OPTCG through so much power creep that it would kill the game got stomped by the previous cards successfully holding the line of keeping the game the ways its fans like it in the recent OCG standings. One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh! are both Shonen Jump properties, so they're brothers and there's room for both of them to live forever without each one having to root for the other to fail and die.
