Wow, the amount of skip/hate on ZhuYuan is criminal. She will be great on release mark my words.

I'm new to this game. I've only been playing for about 3 days now and pulled the bear guy and soldier 11 yesterday. I unlocked the cat character and the character with a saw on a stick the other day from playing the game.

Right now you can clear the final shiyu mission with Anton. What I don't doubt is that all characters on release will still be good later, even if they get powercrept, but rather that getting specific units based on speculation means much even if it turns out to be right that early banners wont be powercrept as hard as in the other games. That's my speculation. That even A ranks and standard banner S ranks will be able to clear the hardest content if built and played right.

My F2P account is pretty much bleed dry after Ellen came home on the last day. Zhu Yuan now seems to work best with Nicole, and i feel i might go for a 2nd account so i can get higher chances with Nicole dupes while praying i can win the 50/50 when her banner drops in 24hours time.

Definitely a must pull. Getting an M6 Nicole will be insanely valuable for the future, and getting an M6 Ben is the cherry on top. I plan to summon Koleda for the 300 (unless i get her sooner) standard pulls cause I have M1 soldier 11 and I really wanna use her with Koleda and Ben.

As someone who has Ellen and Lycaon I'm skipping Zhu Yuan (unfortunately). 1. Yes, she's only Ether DPS and a must have for fast Shiyu clears. But do you really need S rank clears this early? Even if you skip Shiyu completely, you're missing out on just 720 polychromes (4 pulls essentially) and some materials per month, not the end of the world. And you will be able to clear Shiyu on A or B ranks using current agents. 2. Just as Ellen, Zhu will get powercrept and more ether characters will be coming. Don't go all-in on first agents or you won't have enough bank for stronger ones that will come later. I wish I had enough pulls for Zhu Yuan, I really like her playstyle, but sadly because of limited resources I have to skip her and I'll be aiming for Jane Doe (also amazing kit, love disorder/anomal Iy playstyle)

I still think a stun agent is a must in Shiyu Defense, especially critical node otherwise S rank is quite elusive. As I already spent a fortune for Ellen and only have Anby as a stun agent, I have to skip Zhu Yuan for Qingyi eventhough she is dupped as Anby 2.0. I don't have much choices here because Lycaon's design is not my cup of tea and Koleada is fire element which doesn't fit in any of my current team.

unless i get her team, NEPS. then I'm skipping. which is why despite having ellen I'm still using nekomata. because i only use character of the same faction

nothing for mush because a like ellen her design and gameplay, because the other character are not my type of design.

Imma have to respectfully skip miss police because Jane Doe looks so damn good.

The following is just my opinion. We lack both ice and ether dps if we skip the limited banner. So, Ellen is just as good as Zhu Yuan. My reason not to pull Zhu Yuan is that for the 3 other big gacha games I played, Genshin, HSR, WuWa. The 2nd limited characters from release (Klee, Jing Yuan, Yinlin) tend to be overrated, and people soon found out they are bad in patch 1.1 or 1.2. This has to be financially benefit to the company to put a deceivingly good character in the 2nd slot. Klee 1.0 second half, then powercrept by Hutao in 1.3 Yinlin 1.0 second half (she is decent but still the weakest among the first 4 limited char. She is my only limited WuWa char, it pains me to admit it) Jingyuan, also being the ONLY electro dps option in hsr at launch, been overhyped by community. And we all know how it went with his meta position. A slight powercreep must happen within the first 5 patches of a gacha game. Some of the first few limited characters must get out of the T0 tier as the character list grows. Let's call them the victim of powercreeping. There is a reason why companies can't put such potential victim in the 1st limited character slot, because there are many players started at launch instead of halfway through 1.0. More players will feel betrayed if the first limited character got out of the meta within first 5 patches. I don't think it makes sense to powercreep Qingyi who is a stun character. So ultimately, it's between Jane and Zhu Yuan. My bet is on Zhu Yuan getting powercrept as early as 1.3. I think players can choose to wait. It can't be that long until the next Ether attack agent. Again, this is just my prediction based on the histories of other gacha games.
