If people think Adam West really was Batman, then the same can be said about Guy Williams as Zorro in the Walt Disney TV Series. I've been watching allot of Zorro adaptations lately and Guy Williams really owns that part and loved every second of both the role and the fame that came along with it. And you know what, his character is so likable, I'm actually convinced that he really was Zorro. Fantastic actor and a real star.
For us baby boomers, Guy Williams was Zorro, for our parents Tyrone Rower, for our grandparents Douglas Fairbanks, for our children, Antonio Bandaras. All depends on your generation. For the people of old California he was a very real person named Tiburcio Vásquez.
Although I did not wish it, Zorro is what my superiors called me at work. I guess I was a dumb 19 year old idealist at the Railroad, but I was consumed by doing the right thing, and people noticed it. I wish, here, in California, the land of Zorro, that someone had taken my place and carried on that tradition. It is a great tradition and is valued by society. This planet would be a better place if we had a few more Zorros. Also, check out the sword fight in The Mark of Zorro.
Right. Like the man himself said, it is a personal thing between the fans & Don Diego/Zorro, much like how fans of Disney in general suspend belief when they go to the theme parks & see the Meet-and-Greet characters who represent the very real imagination of our childhood. Same goes for the Muppets. Logic says these characters are made up by actors, cartoonists, puppeteers, etc. but our own inner child tells us to being young-at-heart in order be one with the characters to see them beyond logic.
When he says, "What's that?" at 0:07, It's like he doesn't even try to sound serious, and when the fight at 0:43, It's not awesome. It's stupid. The 1998 movie is better..Like a thousand times better.
You are basing your opinion of Disney's Zorro TV series which ran for four years based a three minute promo, using today's standards. That's like comparing the Star Trek NBC series to the last Star Wars double trilogy based on a three minute clip from Star Trek.
Il est donc pas mort mais il restera dans notre coeur et au ciel je croirait toujours en lui gracias senior zorro! Tu est le meilleur ami du monde et si quelqun m'embêté tu me sa veras et même si je suis kinaper?
