I’m happy to share whatever info you need. It’s gotten even easier since I did my install because the microsquirt has been updated to have a programmable optional output for the additional ignition channel that’s needed that won’t require wiring in a resistor in wled. I’m using the stock ignition control module which was super easy. And rather than using the “fuel pump relay” to control the fuel pump I’m using the circuit opening relay. It’s imperative that you disconnect it the cam sensor. It causes loss of sync due to a shared ground with the crank sensor signal. The stock ignition module will break up at around 5k rpm if the dwell is left at the default 3ms. I have mine at 2.2 ms of dwell. Let me know if you need my msq.
Did you have play in the axle spokes when hammering them back? I just installed mine and on one side it has in and out play? Wondering if this is normal
I wish the diff had even shorter gears! The ratios of the th400 are brutally long! Not sure about the gs but the auto IS has 3.91 so not a huge change.
@@masterofmachines ok that’s fair idk about the 400 but my th350 is stupid short and I’m also 3.92 65mph I was at 3500rpms I’m now going cd009 trans since I blew up the th350 on the dyno but she saw 26psi before she popped
i had an is300 with factory manual and factory lsd. The manual is the w55, very weak doesnt hold power.. the first gear completely blew on me. Replaced with the ar5. The factory torsen lsd is the m85, believe it is geared 3.6 This diff blew on me couple months after i replaced the transmission, I am now replacing the diff with a y38 at 4.1. I am afraid this car will be geared too high now :\ we will see.
This was some time ago. The 4.1 gear made virtually no measurable difference at all compared to the stock 3.9. I ran it this way dig racing for a year or 2 and it held up well, and never did 1 wheel burn outs again.
I liked the double burn out one wheel at a time.lol. I think tech it's still only counts as one burn out though. See it's just a really long double stop burn out. Not two burn outs. Lol. Just talking chit
I think they’re just some Pittsburg Allen sockets from harbor freight. Had to put a wrench in them though because there wasn’t enough space to use a Rachet
@@masterofmachines thanks buddy I got mine in! I was a little concerned because every video I saw people took out those hex bolts from the stubs. Found it alot easier to just pop the axle out normally.
Perhaps. The LSD diff in the Lexus is a clutch type, and the one from the FRS is a Torsen diff. The Torsen diff is superior in function for sure, but I’m not sure that it is as strong. I however I have been hitting mine with a shot of nitrous off a transbrake and so far it’s held up OK.
