@@patricklacey4946 Well if it were to be anyone, it WOULD be Hector. He’s a Foremaster, like himself. Hector could have a night creature in hiding, or several. And for all he knows, Hector could have some plans to deal with his creatures ((as Hector was known for being a careful man)). Hector could have very well made Isaac’s takeover of Carmilla’s castle infinitely harder, I believe. After all, Isaac can create multiple different kinds of night creatures, no? Who’s to say He tie can’t do the same, and simply chooses not too? Honestly, I’m surprised Isaac wasn’t more outright *concerned* by the lack of effort it took for his forces to invade.
@@kaldurskipper6821 Mine was a little later. When he had a philosophical conversation with a night creature. I really wished that dude contributed to the invasion too, but maybe he's too busy managing the rebuilding of the ruined cities.
@@Leon-ew7zy I don't, they haven't released any soundtracks apart from the first season as far as I'm aware. The third season had some incredible themes and I tried desperately to find them but to no avail.
@@parapotato ikr from the moment he spokw with the captain I knew he was the chosen one.. instead of killing the captain he actually questions his morality and uses his reasoning to justify his cause.. I have seen very less character that have done this.. Issac is probably the best and most deep character in the castlevania animated series I'm really satisfied with season 4..
It feels like Lenore's superiority cracked when she saw Isaac bend the bars of her magic cage. There's nothing more frightening than someone like Isaac, someone whose already stared death in the face and lived.
I really respect the writing of this show. I spent the past two seasons with the opinion that Hector is a loser. And in the span of one scene, they turned me around on that opinion
When you manipulated your Manipulator, caged two of Styria’s ruling vampire council and slice your own finger for a leg up on Carmilla Zero to hero right then and there
ReaperHunter23 he was a loser, but he overcame that and became a badass. Essentially, he learned from his mistakes and allowed his trauma and suffering to strengthen him instead of weakening him. He and Isaac both grew a lot since the death of Dracula.
It seems to be a key point in the series that the humans grow, and vampires don't. As Lenore explains at the end, vampires like keeping things "the way they are" and take instead of build, because they're so powerful and ageless. Humans lose, they change, they rebuild, and become stronger. You see this in the arrogance of both Carmilla and Lenore - failing to see Hector turn against them, because they think he's weak. Seeing Isaac as "uninteresting" when he ends up the most powerful player among the vampire kingdoms. And you see this when Striga has to defend the vampire camps against human farmers who have learned how to destroy vampires, showing the humans are learning fast.
@@korsekil That is actually the main point of the Castlevania series. Every time Dracula revives he faces against a Belmont and every time that Belmont is stronger and Dracula remains the same, until the time Dracula is finally destroyed completely
@@korsekil to drive this point even further. Carmila made a snarky remark in the start of the series of how Hector and Isaac haven't grow up and they're the same they were as children. During the course of the series both of them had massive growth as characters to reach this point while carmila has remained the same power hungry woman that blames evil old men for everything.
@@jackyc1344 yeah I think a part of him was still hoping that Lenore was going to turn over a new leaf and maybe eventually reciprocate his feelings for her, but we now know that wasn't the case.
@@FredFajardo What are you talking about? Lenore had some kind of feelings for him from the beginning and then they became stronger regardless of her plays and schemes. She came here to get Hector and hide him somewhere. Hector was fooled but is also deeply in love with her. He saved her and they would have been together if Isaac actually let her go. The reason she decided to kill herself was because she wasn't free anymore.
@@silverwolf2643 sadly, all we have is conjecture from what we've been given in S3 and S4. But clearly you can tell they've grown fond of each other despite what happened last season. And possibly still banging each other, judging by their flirtatious innuendos in the hammer scene. Hector might have had feelings for Lenore, but we never really know if Lenore had any genuine feelings for Hector. Remember, her "we could just leave if you want to be with me" line from S3 was a lie, to get that control ring on Hector. If she did have feelings for him, she would have professed that in front of her sisters, Isaac or Hector but she never does. She would have stayed with Hector at the end, but she didn't. Instead, she chooses to die after realizing her existence was one endless, pointless cycle which she likens to being in a cage. She chooses death despite Hector being there for her and his affection towards her.
Hector isn't a fighter and Isaac is probably the most skilled human in close combat after Trevor Hector himself said 'just kill me' because he knew that fighting was only a waste of time for both No change of winning
In hindsight, when he said "...and don't trust Varney." That was a very nice, subtle foreshadowing, since the audience is engaged more with what is happening between Hector and Lenore. Even the way the voice actor said his name, almost spitefully. Good writers, man.
I once suspected Varney is suspicious but didn't think much of at first. When Hector said don't trust Varny, I don't feel surprised. On one hand it sort of confirm my suspicion and also make me happy that Hector is actually quite smart. But at most i just think he has some plot and not that he is powerful or anything. Until the part where he open up the red shield thing "I have skills too" that I suspect could he be death? Reason being i was looking forward to death since they hinted for him in the first episode. Then I know from the games that Death can change his form to a man. He pretend to be Zead the priest before. It is unlike of them to introduce a new major character do late in the show also. So i thought could he be Death, but only 50% suspicious. Then seconds later he reveal himself.
@@gooddreams8495 im not like you at all lmaooo. I assumed varney was just another historic vamp kind of like the russian one. When he flipped the script and showed he was death, im just started laughing like WTF!! VARNEY?!? It was very good, wish i can relive that moment
Both Hector and Isaac had reason to distrust Dracula's generals - all of them - even before Dracula died. Varney is yet another general. Did they know? Who knows.
Lenore needed to get a refund on that Curse Ring. Damn thing is lazy as hell. Hector literally set traps to kill Carmilla, binds her in a magic cage, and the ring's like "Nah, I'm good".
Not really. Lenore said the Slave Ring would cause Hector immense pain if he tried to remove it, attack Carmilla or the other sisters directly, or run away from the castle. He did none of these.
Fuck Carmilla and her opinions. She deemed Isaac “least interesting” because she couldn’t manipulate him. Isaac is too stoic in nature for her to use him as a pawn in her little game. Isaac is quite literally the best character in the series. His character arc is the most memorable and he’s just a pure unadulterated badass.
@@DmanDice "Oh, boy. I sure do wonder why everyone hates me. Why is everybody except me so prejudice? :(((((" Issac could have had a very strong character arc, but his lack of introspection made it frustrating to watch. Through it all, the show treated is flawed views as correct, or at the least, rational given his situation.
It's especially funny how Isaac casually walks through her cage, entering and exiting the room just to show how resolute he is with his choices. Nothing can stand in his way now.
@@mxmlnlcdcdffmnt2232 Agreed. You can read her facial expression go from hurt to confused to angry as she realizes he's free of her. It's a really well animated scene.
I'd fight for my cat, but doesn't mean the cat still isn't a pet. What Hector wanted was affection and to be seen and respected as a person. Lenore saw him as a pet.
Isaac is a well written character, ups and downs and found inner peace. Hector, another well written character - during his phase of him being broken he was taken advantage of and he seek some form of "wanting" in his life and just this scene alone shown what he seems like at his strongest. Two Human characters well written, thank you for this.
I love how, Issac isn't the strongest person in that castle, but he is the most dangerous. He isn't strong, or fast, or tough. He's intelligent and resourceful. What is more powerful: the cannon,or the screwdriver? Neither. It's the knowledge of its assembly and disassembly.
Isaac is definitely strong, fast and tough. He has enough reaction speed to dodge Carmilla's attacks. He has enough mental resistance to resist and destroy the slave crown put on him in S3. He has enough will power to create an army of night creatures (it is stated that you need strong intent to create them). He's strong enough to completely knock back both men and night creatures several tens of feet away with just his kicks. I think what you mean to say is that he isn't on par with a Vampire, though given the feats he's performed it is safe to say that he is on par with a Vampire. By the time he fought Carmilla, she was already in her bloodlusted state, which amplifies her body and power further. Isaac is clearly a cut above the average human. He is strong, much like the Belmont line, which are super humans.
@@lemonydime4137 Of course Issac is strong. The original comment meant that he isn't the strongest strength wise because he's a human but he's the most dangerous and deadliest and could take on anyone
@@lemonydime4137 she was utterly exhausted not full of bloodlust ‘energy’. That was just for dramatic effect. You do have eyes to tell how run down she was yes?
@@strangerthings88 She was fighting like a berserker - strong, but having lost her sense of control. Which goes to show he can at least parry blows with a vampire - and not just any vampire, a clearly powerful one such as Carmilla. Of course it still tilted heavily in his favour because Isaac is a tactical fighter, and in her state he can read her like an open book.
Man, this scene was one of the best to me. After everything Hector had been through, being manipulated, tortured, used, imprisoned.. instead of just giving up, he took his sweet time and outsmarted vampires 10 times his age, and there wasn't a hint of joy or anger in him as he thoroughly succeeded
Yep she probably would have preferred to be killed in that cage then Isaac basically putting her in a cage in her own castle she didn’t get killed due to hectors wishes but Isaac definetly wasn’t playing that shit regardless if she’s hectors girl or not
Lenore didnt really have anything to live for. The plan and carmilla was dead when lenore died. As much as I hate it when lenore died I think she had an excuse
@@Yorikoification It's a matter of purpose and perspective. They live in a world where people kill vampires just as eagerly as vampires kill people. She lost Carmilla's protection, her other 2 sisters completely wrote her off as dead already, and all she had left was Hector. Her "pet". I'm not saying there wasn't love or chemistry between them, but it wasn't enough to keep her from feeling useless and unsafe/uncertain. She might have even taken her own life as a means of freeing both herself and Hector from one another. If they went after her they would no doubt go after Hector, and not many people have the mindset of Isaac to grow beyond fear and vengeance towards the unknown or unusual.
Ya know I just love that the first thing Lenore does upon this invasion is to rush to save Hector. Then Hector returns the favor by protecting her. It ended the only way it could... and I'm at peace with that
I liked the progression of the relationship between Lenore and Hector, and their characters. When he arrived at Carmilla's castle, he was treated as less then a dog, while Lenore was on top of the world. She help to raise him back up, but still treating him like a pet dog, keeping a muzzle on him, giving him comfort but always in control. Meanwhile Hector as he got his strength back, he got his ingenuity back, figuring out all angles, and eventually breaking the bonds of control. This was when Lenore's status came down, while Hectors rose up, and in an ironic twist, they were both on the same level. But that wasn't enough for Lenore, she didn't want to be kept as a pet, she didn't want to live a comfortable position while being maintained at all times, she choose death instead of going through the same thing Hector went though, showing Hector was the stronger one in the end.
This season was so well balanced. Both Hector and Lenore were fine with turning Humanity into cattle and pets, and both Hector and Lenore got to experience firsthand what that really feels like. Both of them grew from it with Hector giving Lenore the kindness of letting her go and Lenore ultimately choosing to kill herself thus freeing herself from slavery and from her own vampire nature.
How tf is Hector considered a simp? As if he had a choice lmao. Unlike Isaac with Dracula (even though he’s my favourite , you have to admit he had a weird obsession with)
I feel like Isaac's obsession/commitment made sense, though. We don't know about his family. Maybe he never knew his. All we saw of his youth was him being a slave to a cruel "man." He saw that side of humanity and when he escaped, people tried to sell his body part for money on the old timesy black market. Dracula saved him from that and consistently showed him respect. Even after he is forced to leave the castle, the first people he meets just want to sell or eat him. There were very few individuals in the world who saw Isaac as anything more than something to use, but Dracula genuinely did care and Isaac could tell. I could be wrong, but I think that's why Isaac was so loyal as well. If you finally find someone who cares about your best interest, you're likely to want to be there for that person too.
@@kaldurskipper6821 That's true. Just saying that Hector seems to have a childish nature, seems very trusting and was also enslaved, isolated. I assumed maybe that's why he was easy to manipulate
@@chickenisindeedmystyle7316 I agree that he was far too naive in all this. It's true that Dracula wasn't as open with him as he could have been, but he was gullible for thinking Carmilla had his best interests at heart.
@@cynthricsgamingchannel9177 She is a vampire by nature they don`t see humans as people, they see them as cattle. that`s the reason why Dracula chose 2 humans to lead his crusade.
@shadowshinobi06 Yes. Despite the fact that Isaac in the game looks like a gay light yagami and seeks vengeance for hector betraying Dracula, he killed Hector's wife, i thought that Isaac was going to kill Lenore in order to make a progress toward the game, but i think that was cancelled due to being the final season of the animation.
I love that even though Isaac was there to kill Hector he still respected him enough to honor his request to leave lenore out of it. Guess there is some honor among wizards
All three of these characters challenge their own nature in this scene. Hector finally overcomes his submissive "Puppy" attitude and finally takes control of his own life even though he believes it will be short lived. Lenore is prepared to throw away everything to be with Hector and in the end learns how much she can't stand her own conflicting existence. Isaac stands in front of what was meant to be his meaning for living, revenge, and casually dismisses it choosing no longer to live in the past and to destroy but to instead live for his own sake and create something.
Isaac is a devil forgemaster and his knife is lethal to vampires. If I were a vampire id say "oh shit" if i saw him too. The only beings above him in power are Sypha, Alucard, and of course Dracula(who's far above literally everyone in power)
@@jasoncruz19800 Dude, Isaac scaring vampires goes way above his forging knife, the man literally led an army from hell that straight up BUTCHERED the defenders of Styria, a community that Carmilla has hinted at having survived assaults from hordes of lycans in the past. Sure, the main trio and Dracula are superior to him in terms of strength, but that's a given for a woman well versed in elemental magic, a monster hunter with decades of experience, and Dracula's half human son. Not to mention Drac would obviously be at the tippy top, otherwise he wouldn't be king of vamps. The point of my original post was that even when Trevor, Sypha, or even Alucard rolled up no one seemed any more terrified, Isaac rolls up, and I see a lot more trembling hands and shaky stances.
What I don't get is that Hector was still under control of that ring. So couldn't Lenore have just "willed" him to stop the cage and undo his whole plan?
It's not a dominate Will thing. The Ring just makes it so Hector cannot betray the vampires and his night creatures obey them. Hector used the trap he made to protect himself and Lennore, so it wasn't betraying her in his eyes.
He was under control of the ring that's why he cut his finger cuz otherwise he woulda died when carmila killed herself, and since he didnt knew the fate of morana and striga might as well commit to it..
Is everyone going to remain silent about the amazing acting in this scene? The desperation and confusion and anger and betrayal in Lenores Voice all at once. Hectors defeated sarcasm because he has accepted Death all while still having the fire in him to keep Lenore safe. Isaac who is deadset on his mission but is WILLING to listen to reasoning without bending to everything he hears?
Having Hector take back control after having 3 full seasons having the shit kicked out of him by people he trusted is one of the biggest sigh of relief i ever had. He finally became a man and understood the world is complex and feelings should not dictate what you do. He felt he should trust Camille, he felt he should love Lenore but finally he knows what's best for him even if it conflicts with what he feels. He still loves Lenore but he knows that what is happening is not right.
Just noticed, Isaac seems so much more calm during interactions after the 'who' part of things is answered early in scenes like this. Then he switches to savor the moment.
This season has taken the time to build isaac up. The whole time though, we've seen it from isaac's perspective. Now, after isaac has been built up nearly as high as he ever will be, we get to see him from anothers perspective. We get to see him inspire terror. And it feels so earned. The music knows exactally how much of a force of nature he has become.
I saw two entire seasons of Hector getting manipulated, pushed around, and enslaved. At long last victory is his, because I don't think I could have watched him suffer this a third time.
I cringe at everyone calling Hector a simp when canonical Isaac is the biggest simp wierdo out of all the Castlevania Dracula followers lol its crazy seeing this form of their starts. Isaac was so cool here and God just grt ready for later Isaac
It is because people have a nasty habit of associating simps with women, they could care less if it was a dude and just would call the man a bro, but no, in hector's case because he switched allegiances to a chick (though not really) he is a simp.......which is probably just people being jealous that a drawn character gets more sex than they do XD
I'm not sure if Isaac is or ever was consider a simp for Dracula in the show, yes he is loyal to him but they are good...no great friends. To the point Dracula saved him due to him seeing more of his wife influence in Isaac, not simp Jermaine on the other hand
Even when Hector has trapped Lenore, the thought of him betraying her never even entered her mind. She thought it was a joke. The love is shown in how much they both trust each other. It's sad how it all ended.
