Best character in the whole show. His arc literally went from a cold blooded loyal servant to a philosopher who wanted to rebuild the world. A king fits his name too.
In the end, Isaac understood Dracula the best. Isaac is the only human besides Lisa that he wanted to live and he saved. Truly, a better bromance there never were
It just blows me away how GENTLE Isaac's voice is in this scene. He set out on his journey with the likely intent to kill Hector but has come to a point where he is wise enough to see that Hector was a victim in his own way.
@@luiousy7329 Oh shoot, you’re right! I never realized that, but yeah, Carmilla is a late stage version of an Isaac that never learned to forgive. She has all the passion, confidence, and purpose to change the world and build something great, but its ultimately undone because she can’t let go of her need for revenge. Despite both outwardly being badasses, the final season reveals that she is secretly a miserable creature unable to accept the happiness she earned by creating her kingdom because she never learned to forgive or let go like Isaac did. Thanks!
@@luiousy7329 I love how they were contrasted in their final battle too. You had Carmilla, pale with long hair and draped in red, mad with fury and alone. And then there was Isaac, dark and bald with blue clothes, calm as could be and backed by an army.
What an interesting way to say "Why be part of a dead vampire's tale when you could be telling stories of your own." Isaac. The Captain would be so proud.
Isaac: I've been talking to other people Hector: Actual living people? Isaac: "remembering: the blind magic shopkeeper, the charismatic captain, the old powerful witch, and the philosopher turn night creature"...mostly
@@GuiiBrazil I loved FlysEyes, he’s a fantastic side character. Him playing with a doll before getting insecure in front of another night creature was oddly adorable to me.
While many shows just have characters in it to fill the roles, the characters in this one are actual people. Even the villains are shown to have kindness and honor as well, and the ability to change. This is why it is so great for me: There is no black and white, and it makes you feel for the antagonists just as much as for the main heroes. Never before did a villains death (Dracula) feel like a tragedy.
Man, this makes me want to be a better person. I hope the writers know that they're changing people in the real world, and Isaac and Hector's story is more than fiction.
Love when Isaac told him he was used as a tool, it visually refers to what he spoke about earlier, him previously feeling like the knife others wielded and now more so he has become the hand, the wielder.
Kind of reminds me of the original story line to where Hector discovered that Dracula was going to use him and issac to kill all of humanity and he was disgusted to where he left
Reminds me of what sypha said (i think sypha or the captain where when u dont have a story u become someone else's and issac started being part of dracula story to now his own with his own ambition and happiness and his own desire to better mankind
I love how Isaac uses the limes in this scene. It's a great reference to his conversation with the Captain last season, and how it has influenced him to become the man he is now.
Isaac has really grown into such a great man. He has really learned from all his experiences, good and bad, and become very wise for it. Hector also has grown a great deal, and they’ve both at last grown beyond their painful past. I wonder...how would they react, if they learned Vlad and Lisa are alive and well again?
@@felipeconstantino9004 There was a clip of Dracula and Lisa alive and well again on RU-vid, but given copyright bull****, it may already be gone. I literally just typed up “Castlevania Lisa and Dracula alive.” If not, there is a summary of the episode on TV Tropes.
I think Isaac would not wish to disturb his peaceful new life with Lisa, knowing that either way he still earned his rest. Hector, I don't know, maybe he'd try to make amends in person.
@@felipeconstantino9004 last part of series. I believe after credit or just the last part. Via some mystery way, lisa and vlad running around on earth and decide not to interfere their son life anymore. Cuz killing dracula leave him a mark in the heart. He need time to process.
The lemons ( lime) is a subtle metaphor of turning lemons into lemonade in this case lime with water. Issac taking his problems instead of seeking vengeance on the world he rather avenge the world. The fact he’s Sharing that with hector the same way the Captain shared it with issac. Just one persons kindness can change the whole world. God this series to so fucking good
I think the limes are meant as a commentary on good periodontal hygiene. No, Isaac was not still at sea. His gums did not run red with the curse of scurvy. But an ounce (!) of prevention (preventive) is worth a pound of cure (flesh). 😬
I think it's interesting, because citrus is a substitute for Vitiman C, which for most people, comes from the sun. That's why sailors preserved oranges and lemons in order to stave off scurvy during long Voyages. It's fun to see that be used in a vampire's home, as they can't touch sunlight.
Isaac easily my favorite character. A man of iron conviction learns to bend to the world. But most of all, one of the few characters to forgive themselves.
Im sure the nightworld would be aware of Dracula's return soon or later, and no doubt the news would reach isaac, prompting him to start his journey back to the castle to see his friend again.
I never expected this ending for these two characters. I expected rage and bloodshed, tragedy and sacrifice. This? This brought me to actual tears. Seeing two characters (human ones at that) come so far, and actually sit down and TALK, rather than giving in to their pain, was just magnificent. It was not the lesson we expected, but it is what we needed.
I hope the voice actor for Isaac will be involved in other works. He puts so much emotion into his role while maintaining a calm and soothing tone. That right there is talent!
Isaac just sees the good in people now. Respect for this dude, he’s been learning how to be a human being. This man is a teacher we never wanted, but what we got anyway
This show is such a damn treasure, from the animation to the writing and the voice acting. I want more, so much more, but all good things must come to an end.
By far my favorite character in the whole series even though he's completely different by race and nature from the actual Castlevania game. When they write a good character, it's hard not to acknowledge it and Isaac's whole character arc was worth watching the series twice over!
Saint Germain here was honestly closer to the games. As for Death, I LOVED this death. It’s fine if you don’t, but I felt their arcs were good. I personally thing Saint Germain is a good contrast to Hector and Isaac. Hector and Isaac looked to the future and got relatively happy endings. Saint Germain stayed stuck in the past and paid the price for it.
@@stingerjohnny9951 Good call. But Germain in COD seemed to look to the future more than this one who was stuck in the past. Death just jarred me a bit, but, given his profession, I'd be pissed about everything too😂
@@caminopreacher5958 I love omniscient cosmic beings who are so done with everything that they don’t even bother acting ominous or mysterious, they just call shit how it is XD
Isacc prepares his drink exactly like the captain did for him on the ship he was sailing on. The Captain who managed to convince a vengeful man set on destroying all of humanity to save them instead.
Cool that the practice of squeezing citrus fruit is one that Isaac borrowed from the Captain... showing the philosophic influence... nice touch and ode to him i love it
Anyone else notice the hint that Isaac has become the Captain in terms of mindset on humanity through the fact that he is making lime water for Hector just as the Captain did for Isaac when they traveled together.
I admit I have trouble staying interested in most long dialogue scenes. And yet. Castlevania handles them masterfully. Even the short pauses are meaningful: the microexpressions and gestures. It feels... worth listening to. And not boring.
I love the symbolism of the lemonade in this scene. The captain gave Isaac his wisdom while preparing a beverage. And now he's doing the same with Hector. Man, this show never ceases to amaze me.
Issac is the most creative character since American animation has attempted the craft. Kudos to his creator for honoring the art of a good story with a properly complex character.
I love Isaac's character so much. He's my favourite part of the whole series. His character arc was amazing and his voice actor is so f*cking talented. I'd love a spin-off series about him
Goes to show how much Hector has grown, he cut off one of his fingers to help Isaac escape Carmilla. Isaac too, he went from a former slave who was abused constantly to the point he despised humanity, to acquiring a demon army of his own, and now after everything he's been through he's finally found peace.
So the reason why/ how people (vampire or human) knew and wanted to resurrect Dracula was because of the actions of a man who felt guilty and wanted to make amends with it.
When in reality it would piss Dracula off, like isnt he with his wife in hell? If I were dracula I'd kill whoever brought me back And everyone else who was a part of it before killing myself to go back.
Let's take a moment to appreciate that Hector and Isaac went from extremely cookie cutter tortured hero and giggling megalomaniac respectively in the game they came from, to two incredibly interesting characters with arcs, passions, and some of the best lines in the whole show.
His hands are those of a Forge Master, we can expect him to have a decently strong grip. Ah he also parried Carmilla's sword blow too, even if his Night Creature aided in softening most of the blow.
Words is not enough for how i in love with Isaac's character, lines he deliver, expression he made, and his voice. Whoever create, write, design, and play Isaac is a crazy genius,
I hope that land he conquered carries importance for the future show(s) set in this universe. I wouldn't mind Juste, Cornell and Xanoa honing their habilities and learning more about the dark arts and how to make them less vile and corrupted in there.
Two coworkers who used to follow 'don't talk politics or religion' on the job, learning to respect their differences and become true friends. Heartwarming.
I just... love this show.. every scene I re-watch I see all the little details that made this a masterpiece. They really just stumbled on perfection. With all the moving parts fitting... just perfectly.
0:03 I’m a little late on this but I think those were Carmilla’s ashes. That’s how Hector knew Issac won. It’s wild that I completely overlooked that and thought it was just snow.
Isaac is at such peace, my god. I weep for Hector, as he’s no better from where he started since being taken by Carmilla. But I am so proud of Isaac for growing as he has.
I always love how Isaac says Dracula "earned his rest", since this can mean either Dracula deserved peace after all his pain, or Dracula deserved to end after all his mistakes. And Isaac says this line twice, and he means each of these meanings, first remembering Dracula as the great man he knew, then remembering the mistakes dracula made.
He isn't some super heroic good guy. He was just instilled with his own set of values and a sense of justice. Fight and put down those who are unjust, foster a community for those who are kind.
This is the true power of traveling, Isaac was exploring the whole world, while Hector was prisoned in the castle, Isaac used to be delusional as Hector himself, but along the journey Isaac met very wise people like Captain and that old lady who impacted him most and nourish him as well.
2:07 how do I learn such power? To squeeze a lime using only one hand without it just splashing everywhere, that is the most amazing power i saw in the whole show...
Constantly coming back to this scene for how dense and how I find something new literally every single time. This time, it's the little dance of expressions on Isaac's face when he says "We both wanted to see the world punished". Just before he moves on, he looks so **sad**. Just before he shakes it off, and says "We can do **more** than that"
I like to think Isaac went on to become the greatest contradiction in his time; a Devil's Forgemaster who became a wise and kindly king that ruled Styria with honor and compassion, with Hector as his right hand man and his demon army to protect his people from any forces that wanted it destroyed.
The will to destroy turned into the will to create, after all, wasn’t he destroying everything to get rid of a horrible reality? Then what reality is there to exist then if the good can’t suffer under the bad? What really was issac getting rid of if he destroyed everything that is living? He wasn’t allowing a better world to be born, he was destroying the world in its entirety. What a gorgeous incredible character, certainly relatable but in an smaller scale.
