As one of the "Big Five" (Germany, Spain, France, UK and Italy) He automatically is qualified for the finals.

For myself there are only 3 songs that are absolutely powerful in every way.. VOCALLY especially. ISRAEL.... LATVIA... GERMANY. These countries have singers who put everything into it. The 'fan' Favourites, don't do it for me musically... But strangely they call the powerful ones 'generic or radio friendly'...... To me the frontrunners are all generic. Latvia and Israel are my top favorites. And admiration to Israel.... That young girl can sing and had poise and control on that stage..... Not easy not knowing the reception she was going to face... Especially with the younger eurovision 'supporters.... Some comments on certain channels last night were so hateful and hurtful and some just bizarre towards Israel qualifying last. Ich finde wir sollten Henning May mit nem englischen Song für Deutschland beim ESC 2025 an den Start schicken. Weil er Einer unserer großten Ausnahmetalente unseres Landes ist. Sein unscheinbares Auftreten und dazu seine Stimme. Ich bin davon überzeugt dass er sehr gut ankommen und viele überraschen würde. 🇩🇪

Germany ESC rule: Pick a song that is good but not great so everyone enjoys it but nobody votes for it, come in last place, repeat. My main issue with our songs is always that after the first chorus you are like "hey, this is great" but then the song doesn't really build on that and leaves you unsatified. Great singer though.
