Looking foward to the follow up. Im no makeup expert, but I love doing 1 shadow smokey eyes and popping a shimmer on top & this palette lends itself to that
@@hautemesstom And oh my goodness this eye look was a journey that arrived at such a beautiful destination. I really enjoy the look of the mascara as well - volume, length, super black, etc.
@@lonewolf8667 I know of a few people who are getting theirs in the mail tomorrow so hopefully you will get a few more voices to hear from to help you decide soon!
You’re the first person I was able to find with a video on this collection. What luck! I really liked your video. It was super helpful for me to see your first impressions. Thanks for working so hard to get it done!
The eye look took me on a journey I was not ready for! Loved where it all ended up. I think the best part of watching this was realizing how inspired you clearly were from her vision. Which to me is the sign that, regardless of the pros and cons of each product, Isamaya is doing her job by bringing a vision to life. And because she wants to treat it the same as a fashion collection, I am really curious to see how her vision expands and what other collections may look like. But damn, I expected the palette to be weighted and glorious... and it did not seem so.
Yeah I was a bit disappointed in the feel of the palette. It still looks really cool. Any time I’ve been near my vanity I keep picking it up thinking it’s my phone Lolol 😂.
I really appreciate how in depth you went on this review. I've watched several reviews of this palette and I've enjoyed yours the most. I'm still trying to decide if I should go ahead and purchase this one, but your review has nudged me more towards yes.
thank you so much! i'm so glad you found the video helpful and enjoyed it! I have a few other videos where I use the palette if you wanted to see more and I also have a "final thoughts" video after having played with it for a month that you may find helpful!
hi Tom, 1st x viewer here. i'm truly glad you were honest about your 1st impressions w/this palette. we sometimes live in a social media space that insinuates an honest yet negative review is the same as being negative or engaging in negativity which #1 is not at all accurate and #2 is steeped in thick irony bcz labeling something negative when it is not IS negativity. anyway, i saw that the 'let down' factor was pretty high AND that when searching for an adjective to describe the 'feel' of the shadow, "CHEAP" is what came to mind 1st. you are not alone in that sentiment. i was going to pick this up to try on clients but now i think i'll pass and perhaps go in a Viseart or in a ND direction. so for that, well done. hopefully i'll get to watch more of your content when i have some down time. Happy Summer
i enjoyed your review! have you tried any unearthly cosmetics? i loooved the byredo kalahari palette and even tho i don't like this palette cover either, i might still end up getting it for the formulas inside. it reminds me of dose of colors friendcation palettte: disliked the design, LOVED the shadow formula. like seriously top 3 still today. and your eye look came out beautiful! i think the topper shade definitely transformed it in a beautiful way. looking forward to your follow-up review!
ahhhh!!! i was SHOCKED when you put that blue on top of the orange. genius move and i admire you for that i love this brand bc i am very into the ~fantasy~ of branding. to me at least, makeup isn’t practical. no one needs it, it’s just fun. it should give you the whole experience. the fantasy of the marketing was so intriguing, but the packaging sort of ruined it for me. however!!! the products performed really well, so i’m back on the train (don’t get confused i’m not buying anything from it, but FICWGI) (following its career with great interest)
The orange didn't feel right on its own and the blue one seemed like it might do something and BOY did it! I loved the way that turned out! I have since noticed there are two CAVA from the Gold Palette type shades in here that also could've added something that I was missing from that orange. I am into the fantasy too! It's exactly why I bought it. While the packaging was a bit of a turn off once seeing it myself, I was like "I will feel really stupid if I don't try this brand because at least they're doing something unique feeling!" I am very curious what the next collection will bring us! I think many people, even if they aren't going to buy should FICWGI!
I was excited about this from the first couple of pictures, but when I saw the product pictures, I was confused, ngl. Curious to hear your thoughts, tho! 💚
I felt the same! I think you may have left this comment before watching, but that was exactly how I felt. I really purchased it tho because I was excited to see something different come out, even if it wasn't perfectly realized.
thank you so much for this video, can't wait to see what you think of these products long term! i'm not interested in this collection, but i must say the palette looks sooo much better in your video than it does in the promo pictures, much more cohesive somehow, and i actually like that it's smaller than it seemed initially!
Thank you for watching! Your feelings seem to be the general consensus lol. I agree the palette looks and feels a lot better IRL than anticipated and I too am happy that it ended up being smaller than expected haha.
I would say the textures are far and AWAY the most intriguing part of the release! Idk if you have any shadows around with interesting textures that you haven't played with in a while to curb the purchase unless you wanted to buy! lol
Dont you think that if Hannah wasnt on a no buy and probably would balk at this price that she would be all over these an smeary and wet look shades..i have this I'm over the moon for this one its not storing its sitting right on my vanity as its not going to be one of those that get lost..this is everything to me for innovation and interest and most importantly pushing the limits in playtime. I'm glad you got it..use it again in another video.
Hard agree! I am hoping I might get to play with it one day soon ... I put it on a list for my birthday, and I noticed a black box on my husband's nightstand earlier ... now that I'm watching Tom's video, I'm like, wait. Was that the same black box????? The color story isn't one that ticks all the boxes for me and my usual palette, but GOSH those textures are incredible.
@@lonewolf8667 I wish I had on two shelves worth I have just started running through what I have and use them and if I dont like the formula or they dont inspire me I just remove them from my collection .its getting down to mostly indie brands ..who knew aand also collections I will never get rid of hah never say never.. But I'm pretty much done with mainstream as its becoming color story driven and inspiration by formula.
Hannah discussed this in a new makeup release video and didn't seem too interested. I could definitely see her getting on with these formulas for sure, but it's her money and point of view so if she doesn't think it would add to her collection then we aren't going to see her talk about it. I also can definitely see that some people would love to have this sitting on the vanity and it being a true statement piece. I do that with my Gucci palette. People are going to view this packaging however they want to, either as art or a burden, because some people want that type of utility out of their product. And of course, on my channel things don't only appear once, this was the first impression and there are plenty of videos in the pipeline for this palette getting its time in the sun.
I hope my video was helpful in any way! I know I'm no HLP tho! I definitely feel similarly tho, it's why I don't often buy palettes anymore. The eyeshadows I have can mostly do the same thing. The reason why I felt so inspired by this palette and ended up purchasing it was because I really appreciated Isamaya having a vision for what she was doing.
I am curious about your thoughts on the longevity of these shadows? I bought this palette as soon as it released. LOVE the application and looks I get, but by the end of the day, they are barely there. I don’t have this problem with most high quality shadows.
I loved the term “silver stark” hahaha. Thanks for your review! I found it very useful as I live in Mexico and buying something like this is way expensive so I really wanted to know if it woukd be worth it ♥️
I am curious if the funky latex person can be removed from the front lol the color story definitely seems more compelling to me in your swatches and use then online but more so to use as inspo in the future then currently for wanting to purchase! Thanks for reviewing I really wanted to see your thoughts on it! and am looking forward to seeing how they might change past first impression!
@@hautemesstom lol! if only it could be removed like the body jewelry... (i personally like to stack my palettes together but am conscious about parts that may dent the palette next to it.
The seasonal collections make sense given Isamaya’s background. Not sure how well it’ll pan out for makeup for the reasons you mentioned, but it definitely gives additional context for the thought process behind it all. Still not going to buy anything 😅 but fascinating from a marketing perspective!
Haha, I can definitely see how this palette wouldn't be for everyone but I must admit I was so shocked that the blue shade on the orange worked too haha
I feel like the marketing made this seem so exciting and then it was a bit of a letdown. I'm a basic b- so it's not really my vibe, but it's still exciting to see if they will come out with more innovative products.
I felt similarly. When the palette was revealed I was like “huh” but having it in my hands I am inspired by it a lot but I fully understand the OMG ITS GONNA BE SO DIFFERENT
I've been desperate to see a review of this and this was so detailed - thank you! I'd love to get it, but my youngish sons like to choose my eyeshadow and I'm not sure how I'm going to explain the packaging references... Would it be wrong to de-pot it??!! 🤣
Hahahaha! I mean... you could come up with something clever maybe? It could be like... a Star Wars reference, when the guy gets frozen in one of the old ones? He looked like that!!! I just checked to see if the pans were removable, they're not magnetic so depotting would take some work! lol
I really wasn’t interested in this especially after you swatched them. But on your eyes they look different. The look came out really pretty and it forces you to be creative. Love it
If you wiggle that mascara brush into your lashes then roll/ wiggle the applicator while you brush up/ blink into the mascara wand you might have better luck with clumping rather than just brushing it on. I have hooded lids so sometimes tilting my head back and looking down into a mirror while I do this makes it a little easier. I always tightline too. You have beautiful, thick lashes btw. Still trying to figure out if the mascara is worth the money.... tough one. Looks unique, but....Ughh lol. The cost. Cool look at the end though.
@@hautemesstom yeah, that price point is steep! But if I had a beauty channel..... I'd go for it. It looks to interesting to pass up lol. Also want to try the mascara with the metal wand. I've had my eye on that one for years, but I love bold lashes and just don't know if it will get the job done. So, thank you to all beauty youtubers for trying the stuff I'm too chicken to buy. That includes you 🙂 thanks again
Hi! First time visit here and I want to pounce on the pallet! The brand's marketing video is Insane 🤐☻️Sadly they dont ship to Canada and Selfridge are out of stock 😭😭😭
Ah I'm so sorry! I hope you will be able to get your hands on one to enjoy!! I don't think it's out of stock on Isamaya so maybe you will see some pop up on selfridges soon!
I absolutely need a dupe for that white iridescent shade but the space paste is a bit much for me. I almost want the palette just for that and the green shades and maybe the creamy navy but 115$ 🥲🥲
The space paste is also a chunky glitter! So I’m not sure the space paste would be the perfect dupe! I am SURE there has to be an indie brand with a similar shade! The price is pretty steep tho! I hope you end up finding something that’s within your budget that inspires similar creativity!
@@everg14 nebula. I just swatched them side by side. Nebula has more green shift than the one in this palette, but the formula and effect on skin is VERY close.
