Did the text to speech audio sound close enough to my voice to be a good replacement while I'm not well? More info about that, supplies list and links in the description drop down under the video. Isaro watercolors at Jacksons (affiliate) here: www.jacksonsart.com/en-us/isaro-watercolour-paint?___store=jacksonsart_us&acc=c0f168ce8900fa56e57789e2a2f2c9d0 I'd love to hear if the voice sounded natural or if you were able to tell that I sounded "off" (more monotone or robotic than usual). This was my first attempt to use the text to speech program that mimics your own voice called "Descript". Due to health problems I'm not currently able to record voice overs, but I know the majority of you really appreciate them compared to text/music. So I gave the computer program my past video audio files and it generated a mimicry of me! If you're interested in how that works, you can see a RU-vidr test it out in his video "This Audio Editing Tool "Deep Faked" My Voice" at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--7x3CbbR-ns.html
Got it to work - and the text to speech is surprisingly good! Some of the pacing seemed slightly fast, but it definitely felt like you were talking to us. 🌺
It did sound a bit off... maybe just a bit more monotone and not as soft and soothing as usual? Though I'd say the program did a pretty damn good job none the less.
@@kristiw.1823 Yeah I noticed that the program speeds through certain words, so there's a bit of work I need to do regarding thesaurus replacing them to slow down the feel of that sentence. Between sentences though I could increase the frequency of 1-3 second pauses, which may overall help keep the pacing understandable. I was really impressed with how close to me it sounds, but that there's less inflection, more monotone. If I tried to add more excitement the program broke, making half the word sound calm and the other half excited lol. Overall fun tech though, thanks for your feedback :)
First of all, I’d like to wish you a steady return to good health. Your videos are always eagerly awaited and I appreciate all the practical information you share with us in them. Your paintings are amazing! Had I not read comments from other viewers, I would not have known you were using TTS. Wonderful that such technology is available to you ( and us). Again, I wish you all the best and joy in painting.
This was a TTS audio? That's amazing! I thought it was you until I read the description... It's got my vote! As for the Isaro, thank you for sharing all of this. The convenience mixtures are cool, especially that Boreal Blue. It's a shame to hear about their Ultramarine Pink, but also good to know. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these colors! As I mentioned in the other comment, I definitely will have to pick up Nordmann Green. The TTS was incredible! I'm sorry to hear your health is struggling, but I'm so glad this tool is available for you to use. I hope that you feel better as soon as possible. I'll send some healing vibes your way.
Wow! Love the text to speech programming. Last video said you were ill. It sounded to me you were doing so much better. What an amazing tool. Interesting review, as well. Pray that you heal and on your way to recovery. Tfs.
Thank you, Kim! I would not have known it wasn't your actual voice, this is totally amazing (and a little scary) the way AI is able to mimic the teal thing! Nevertheless, I wish you a speedy recovery! 🤗😘 The Borreal Blue looks beautiful! 😍
Wow- the TTS audio was extremely impressive! It sounded just like you would as far as I could tell. That was so cool. Not to mention the great video and extremely useful information about the Isaro paint brand, lol. I love that Nordmann Green. ❤️
lindsay always talks highly of your videos.its fun to be scienific with pigments ,i painted in acrylics for 27 years ,a few years ago i got amazon prime and bought enough watercolor to teach my whole city to paint .i dont teach i love learning so much from artists like you ,your birds are beautiful i love nature art so much ,god heal you ,love gina in washington state
Always a treat to get a video from you! The audio was very easy to understand. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, research and talent! ❤️ Prayers for your health! 🙏🏻
I just received the "Jackson's Art Pick" set of 10 of these Isaro paints so I re-watched this video and I'm anxious to try them out. Always love to hear what you think about the different paint brands.
Found your channel just recently. Your test swatches are the most informative and videos are inspirational. Hope that you are alive and just recovering from whatever ill was affecting your voice.
Thank you for all of the research/testing you do! I had purchased two tubes of this brand just to try out, and I really did enjoy them. I really want to try that Powdery Pink though!
I was looking for reviews of some Roman Szmal colors and checked your channel first - your calm voice and thorough testing of the colors, your charming paintings, and especially your hints for mixtures - all these things make your channel one of my favorites. I noticed you hadn't posted for a while, and am hoping you're doing well and feeling ok. Thanks for everything!!
I thought this videos was one of your last recordings until I expanded the description after finished to watch it. It sounds really great! It’s always interesting to hear your opinion about the paints. Please take care :)
TTS worked so well!! So great to see a new video from you. I hope your health improves. Also, I have that lovely pink birb from your pink and teal isaro video up in my studio. It's surrounded by Godzillas, seems to like it there. One of these days I'll do a studio tour on my channel that also showcases all of my original art pieces that I've managed to collect, and you'll be able to see it. If you wanted. 😁 Thank you for another awesome video!!
Wow Kim I really thought it was you then I saw in the comments this is really amazing. I had these paints in my cart when they came out but I wasn't sure, Thank you I hope that you feel better soon!
Thank you for the new video, Kimberly! I don’t think your TTS voice sounded robotic at all. I don’t have any Isaro watercolours but I always enjoy watching your take on any paints. I am wishing you all the best, all the good vibes I’m sending to you
I have the Jackson's set and always enjoy using it. I use their Payne's Grey a lot and made a great Nordmann Green mock up thanks to your previous video! Re the TTS, what a great tool! I only read the description after first viewing and it fooled me...
Wonderfully complete review as usual. As for the audio quality, I couldn't tell the difference between the voice over on this video and your previous ones. I hope you're feeling better soon.
Thank you, I truly enjoy your videos! I happen to live close to Belgium and think these paints are just wonderful. After extensive paint research,k I decided to preferable use women-made paints as much as I can, and together with A Gallo this is the perfect palette for me. ISAbel ROelofs is a very experienced craftswoman in my opinion (same as Alina Gallo). Both brand's colours really shine and have a lightness or brightness which I find hard to describe, that other brands lack. I think this is the female touch! I own and swatched the complete range of both brands on cotton paper and I find Isaro a bit brighter than A Gallo and the latter a bit softer. Both perform just wonderfully. I have tried all the major brands and swatched colors extensively, but these paints tick all the right boxes for me. Please note I'm not related in any way to these brands just a true fan! ps I did not have any issues strength wise with any of the pigments and swatched it straight out of the tube... again thank you for all the wonderful reviews !
The TTS sounded great. I actually knew you were going to be using it before watching, so I was listening real close for glitches. The speed seemed fine/perfect and there was only a couple of words that sounded off (like it was generated by a robot). If I hadn't known going in, I probably wouldn't have noticed or suspected that you were using a TTS. The paints themselves were interesting. The ones with mika really caught my eye. Their subtleness is interesting. Thanks for all your hard work!! Wishing you all the best with your health!❤
I love your swatch cards stamps (loved them so much accidentally ordered one of the stamps twice!) and mini circular paint palettes. I also ordered the dowloadable stamps. Thanks for the freebies! You were so nice to include an extra palette knowing I would like it since I ordered 6. I wondered why you sent to little cute box stamps, then DUH, empty paint pans! Love everything I got. You definitely give a bougie feel with items wrapped in gift wrap and freebies. You should have a video demo showing you stamps and palettes! Love your channel!
I read your review on amazon about the paul rubens opaque watercolors. I had them in my cart at aliexpress where they're $54 right now but I honestly shouldn't be buying supplies right now and your review gave me that little push I needed to say 'no, I don't need these!' So thank you. 😉
Really enjoyed the video. Would not have know it was TTS. I have a tube of Boreal Blue and found I can get a good match using Ultramarine and D.S. iridescent scarab red.
Wow-audio is fantastic. Had a coupon for Jackson's. Bought 2 tubes of Isaro-Indathrene Blue & Boreal Blue.I fell in love with color separation. Next time they have a big sale-think I'll buy more. Definitely the Payne's Grey. The succulent painting is gorgeous. Will be giving it a try. Thinking frame it & put it by my Lego succulents!
Hi! Great video! Have you tried Isaro Viridian green PG18? It's even more pigmented and granulating than MGrahams Viridian Green PG18. I definitely recommend it. Thanks for sharing and much ❤️
I agree, certain words seem to be pronounced really quickly by the tts program. I will work on thesaurus replacing them and adding comma pauses to help with that in the future. Thanks for your feedback :)
Sadly there is trouble in the pigment world with PR206 and several similar colors including PO48 and PR179. While perylene should be around for a while, certain hue variations are going away. Some of the more brown leaning maroon ones may be a good mixing replacement for PR206, even some brands of PR101 that are noted as transparent (transparent red iron oxide). Luckily some brands have stocked up on enough PR206 that you will be able to get tubes from DSmith or pans from RSzmal for years to come. PY83 is such a orange leaning yellow that normally I use quin gold convenience mixtures to replace it. As soon as I'm feeling up to it I'll do some more pigment comparison videos regarding finding alternatives to fugitive or discontinued colors.
Kim, I use your site all the time, but I'm wondering, in the brand review section for Daniel Smith, why didn't you address the controversy over Daniel Smith's Primatek line being 90% unlabled pigments, and their incredibly poor response when it was discovered by a geologist?
Was just thinking about you. I loved the video and it completely sounded like you. If that's what you need to do then I am excited the option exists. ❤ Would you give us an update on how you're doing or just a quick hello would suffice. All our love!❤🥰
Hello. I appreciate you sharing such quality content with us, I really love your videos. I've also been to your website and was wondering if there is an email list to join to be notified if/when you may begin to offer international shipping? Thanks and sending well wishes xx
I save any email or website contact form messages I get about international shipping, but I'll also make a video about all my swatch cards/watercolor theme products here on RU-vid in the future if things change. Sadly our current shipping prices are outrageous with $20-30usd being the lowest rate for tracked usps international. It's too much to be liable for at the moment, but hopefully someone will start to offer a reasonable alternative in the future. Thanks for your interest, happy painting :)
Wow, I would not have known this wasn’t your voice if you didn’t say so. If I listen closely it is a tiny bit mono tone and in some words, a little robotic.
I wish you a speedy recovery Kim! You are such an inspiration to me, loveeee all your videos, you have helped me to branch out on my watercolor brands. Also I wanted to thank you for the sweet goodies you included on my order from your site, you totally made me smile. The voice is just perfect! Crazy the things technology can achieve these days.
