I am really happy to see a proper review like yours, taking the time to update firmware. For me, showing the estimated battery percent is a must for a battery checker, but that feature was absent on the stock firmware (on non-smart batteries, the ones we will use 99% of the time if not more). I like the smaller battery checker the BC-8S you had in the other video. I'd prefer the screens to stay on while driving the bike so I can see what's going on and being smaller OLED they use less power while on I would guess.

Recently purchased one of these, was intrigued by the fireware update though a bit skeptical. Thankfully my well secured system detected the virus install attempt by the install file. Just thought you might want to be aware.

Thanks for your comment friend. There is many times that antivirus get falsely triggered by some file that are actually not harmful. I only download firmware from ISDT official website and never had any virus problems with any of my ISDT products firmwares.

do they make one to take more than 8s?..i need 15 or 16.....when it balanses your bike battery does half of your battery balance diferently? it must right?

I whish they do. 15S balancer would be awesome! But you can still make it work with your 15 or 16 cells battery. To balance my 14S E bike battery i use two of these balancers and I connect them separately like you do when you connect the BMS. Just follow the wiring diagram.

@@NexiTech could you use 1 unit and 2 sets of leads and swich the unit?..does it balance half your battery diferently to the other half?

I just bought one of these. For a big car audio battery all this is good for is monitoring cell banks. All the balancing stuff balances so slow its pointless in my application.

Hello! Nice review, thank you. I've a Bg-8S too, but I can't figure out how to update the firmware. I download last version, connect by USB, my laptop recognize it, but I don't know which software needs to update it, as appears on your video, when you click to do the update... Could you clarify it to me, please? Thanks and cheers from Brazil!

Do you know if this can be used with larger LiFePO4 battery cells (180Ah) that do not have any balancing circuitry. All I want to do is monitor battery voltage to see if my batteries are balanced or not. I'm mainly trying to figure out if I can simply wire the negative wire to my negative bus bar and the eight positive wires to the positive terminal on each battery, so if this requires something more sophisticated than that.

Ben Willmore On 7:34 you can choose LiFe battery. Not only that you can monitor your battery with low voltage alarm you can also balance it using this device. Even if balance resistor in this device is small it still can help and do some balancing if is connected 24/7 in long term.

This is battery checker, it uses test battery to power itself. You can not charge it.

@@NexiTech ic , i thought it say it can act as a power bank for my phone, but i guess it just use the lipo battery for that?

Yes it charge1 cell lipo battery as well. No problem.

There must be something wrong with mine it doesn't turn on when I connect full charge 1s battery. Can you please enlightened me on how to make it work on 1s battery? 2s and 4s works fine.

@@nhelosaceda6232 I'm so sorry! I thought that you placed the comment on ISDT smart charger 1000W video! I responded without going into actual video. I did not used this battery checker on 1S battery. Sorry again for wrong answer :(
