Iseltwald lies on the shores of Lake Brienz, just a few kilometers from Interlaken.
This fishing village belongs to one of the most beautiful in the Switzerland and for sure most beautiful village that lies at Lake Brienz. In the summer villaage attracts tourist from all over, kayaking is one of many options and things to do, there are three restaurants here, two hotels, best fishing spots, beach for swimming, many hiking paths, for example one alongside the lake, that leads to Grandhotel Giessbach, is one to recommend, 5km hike.

Wow learned a lot, especially about Schnäggeninseli. That island looks so small its impossible to be inhabited, but after finding a google 360° there, there's actually grass and a building in the middle line of island.

Ha, cool idea to horse around with the canoe there. You took it with you on top of the car I guess? I always wondered about that little island; private property I guess? I hiked the path to Giesbachfalle and hotel many times from Iseltwald. Very dog friendly path for older dogs, who can't hike so well anymore!

thanks!! we love this village, it is quiet, even in the season.. we just rent the kayak, in the lake lodge.. they got even stand up paddle boards or e-bikes.. that little island Schnäggeninseli (snail island) :P is privat like you say.. there is just small church, a lot of bushes, some benches.. this path from Iseltwald-Giessbach, I love it, I used to run this path regularly in the morning few years back.. it is so relaxing :)
