This video is extremely helpful to anyone who wants to see the exact challenge and risk you'd be taking and I'd recommend watching the entire thing to inform your preparation. Thank you so much for filming! Stopping for video and pictures on those dicey areas looked sketchy as hell. Kudos to you for completing the T5 route some of those foot holds did not look ideal let alone the loose rocks, well done.
How hard was the trail between lauterbrunnen and Murren? If you take the cable car, do you go straight to murren with the bike or Grutschalp? Can you ride from Grutschalp to Murren? Thanks!
Sensationell!! Liebe Grüsse aus dem Aargau, Romano
Hi!! Nice video! :) We are planning to follow your steps this summer and would like to know if there's a marked path from Alp Breitenboden to the summit of Garzen or it's just hiking up the hill trying to find the easiest way to get to the top? Thanks a lot, Paul
thanks a lot Patrik I drew a virtual tour on my maps but that's clearly above my fitness level and confidence I can do a t5 but not along a 23km and 2600D+ tour like I planned from Frutigen to Niesen all on the ridge lol "aim for the moon" as they say >< very helpful thanks for sharing in this video you show parts I know I would have turned back because I already did in similar places
Hi, I was thinking about doing the same hike this summer. I have never hiked on ice but I have done long mountain hikes such as Tour de Mont Blanc, Carros de Foc or GR-221. Do you think for a group of 3-4 hikers of my experience it would be safe to do this in July/August? Thanks in advance.
the normal route is easy, but is full of people and quite used (slippery), there is a new variant (K5) that is beautiful and much more recommended. We did the variant with a group of 3 that it was their first time, and had no problem. Both should be fine if you have done moderate via ferratas before..
Hello ! !! I havé a question, where did you start? I am going to take the train until grindelwald and the start hiking 🥾 . And how many hours did you hike ?
A beaufitul video. A question ... at 1:20 there is a sign between Gitschen und Uri Rotstock. Did you go to the left and follow the hiking path all the way to the pass close to Gitschen? Or did you go to the right initially towards Uri Rotstock and then scrambled the ridge over Rot Gitschen? You guys often hike not on regular paths. So I wondered.
hey Patrick, fantastic video! Thanks for the info added. Wondering if anywhere on this route is possible to set up a tent and sleep? Maybe north side of the Thunersee, on the ridge somewhere?
See ja
Hey Patriik and Terry! Thanks for the video! Well done and it gave me the info I needed to try it out myself which I did two weeks ago... Unfortenately I was alone so my images are less action and more landscape.. Next time I'll have to hire Terry in.. :-) But the uprising clouds after bad weather gave me a real show!! Thanks a lot!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Odjc1kzQnFY.html
Hi Patrik, Great Video. do you have a link for this trail? Would love to do it yet don’t know where I would pick up the entrance to climb and then decent. Anything on Trailforks? Thansk
Hello, first of all, thanks for the clear representation of this hike. Secondly, do you think it is really neseccary do bring an ice axe/rope/harness and crampons for this glacier trek. I'm looking at doing this hike during a longer hike around the Bernese alps and this would be a lot of weight and room in my backpack for only 1 glacier crossing. It looks quite straightforward on ice with not a lot of objective dangers. Thanks in advance and greetings from Belgium.
