So spot on! I truly experienced all the ISFJ subtypes: harmonizing in my youth, dominant in my corporate career, normalizing as a mom, and finally finding my creative subtype in retirement! Thank you Joel & Antonia for explaining this concept and now it all makes sense to me!

I am an INFP who aspires to pursue a master's in library science. I've just watched the INFP episode and ISFJ to learn more about my father. Both of which have been very informative and helpful. Keep the librarian jokes coming!^^

ISFJ here, definitely Creative with some Dominant and Harmonizing influences. Being "Perceiver-y" is correct, I frequently test and get typed as one and it took me a while before finding the correct type. I think this nuance helps clarify nature vs nurture a lot, hopefully it will catch on.

I am a dentist and attorney but just practice as a dentist. I am dominant but identify with some normalizing and harmonizing traits

I see no librarians came on. lol Almost all librarians who run libraries either for academia or the public have advanced library science degrees. It's only the lowly low-paid book return temps that don't. It seems to primarily have to do with the complexities of the Library of Congress system that require so much study. They have to know where to shelve a book 5 decimal places down to the specific topic or type of book. And you have to dedicate a lot of your life to becoming a librarian to sort of join the club. In college I worked as a compute tech secretary type at a very small college library where the new very educated librarian was converting everything to Library of Congress. She spent a lot of time thumbing through an extremely large encyclopedic book of classification breakdowns before bringing out a stack of books with notes on them as to what to enter into the computer and what label to put on the book. It's amazing the level of detail in it.

I was confused before, either I'm in creative subtype or harmony subtype because both have difficulty in making a decision. That's actually the most dominant thing I was aware of my personality since I was child. But I think I'm more in the creative subtype. The harmony subtype I think is tend to be more unselfish? While I always think my self as more selfish than the stereotyped ISFJ. Currently I'm working as a cook in a small business that my husband and I have, but lately I also realized that I actually quite good at graphic design and also crocheting. And the more I cook the more I find my creativity. Like, cooking actually also needs much creativity. So, I think I'm in the right path right?

How do you know which one you are is it just a matter of which one you relate to most??

This man really loves "platforms." Is he sponsored by Uber or something? 24:16

I don't think so. I agree with Joel that "platforms" can be a useful tool for many people who have a preference for the creative subtype. Because they can have a really low tolerance for mundane routine and at the same time they might not be so consistent to create their own system... So they really need something that would help them to turn the products of their creativity into something they can live on without limitation of their freedom.

I do LOVE platforms... and that makes sense since I'm also a Creative Subtype version of my personality: ENFP. I think platforms can enable Creatives do their best work without all the hassle of building the distribution and marketing channels themselves. ~ Joel

@@akakikola Thanks for the comment. You are correct - I am not sponsored by Uber. They are simply a good example of a non-media focused platform. I would add AirBnB - DoorDash - etc to the mix. Thank you for helping clarify my intended message.
